Harrison Ford Reportedly Broke Pelvis and Ankle in Plane Crash

Harrison Ford underwent surgery in the hours after his horrific plane crash to treat a broken pelvis and ankle, according to a report.

The Hollywood veteran cheated death when the vintage aircraft he was flying plunged onto a golf course in California on Thursday.

Ford, 72, was forced to make an emergency landing after the plane suffered engine troubles, and he was pulled from the wreckage by golfers who had been playing on the green at the time of the crash.

He was hospitalized with “non-life-threatening injuries” according to his publicist, and a new report suggests the Indiana Jones star underwent surgery after breaking his pelvis and an ankle in the accident.

A source tells local news outlet Ktla.com that Ford was taken in for an operation at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center to fix his broken bones.

The emergency comes just months after Ford broke his leg on the set of the new Star Wars film and was forced to take a hiatus from filming in the U.K. while he recovered.

A probe into the plane crash has since been launched by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to determine what caused the accident, which has also reignited a long-running fight over Santa Monica Airport, where Ford’s plane took off from before it suffered technical difficulties.

Locals have been battling to shut the transport portal over safety fears, but the concerns have previously been dismissed by aviation officials, and Ford was among a group of airport supporters who lobbied to keep the site open.
