Amazon Prime Strikes Streaming Deal With HBO

Remember when you heard that HBO would be releasing a Netflix-like video on demand service and you were so excited because you could finally stream all of their amazing content, including Game of Thrones?  Then remember how bummed you were  to find out that only HBO subscribers were allowed to partake in the HBO GO-odness? Well prepare to board the emotional roller coaster once more, as details have come out today about a deal the network is striking with Amazon Prime Instant Video.

The Amazon streaming site has finalized a deal to be the exclusive online-only subscription home of HBO programming, old and new. Already confirmed for streaming via Amazon Prime are:  The Wire, Eastbound and Down, Rome, Deadwood, Enlightened, Six Feet Under, Flight of the Concords and The Sopranos, plus select seasons o f True Blood, Boardwalk Empire and Treme. Subscribers will have unlimited streaming access to all seasons, although shows that are not mentioned are HBO cash-cow Game of Thrones, Sex and the City and Entourage.
