AMC Set To Film New Pilot ‘Halt & Catch Fire’ In Atlanta This Month

AMC is filming a pilot for a new drama in Hiram, Georgia this month. Production begins on April 15 for Hault & Catch Fire, a dramatization of the personal computing boom of the 1980s. If AMC orders the series, it will be the third series shot in Georgia after The Walking Dead and the new reality show Small Town Security.

Hault & Catch Fire will take place in the early 1980s and dramatize the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. Their personal and professional partnership will be challenged by greed and ego while charting the changing culture in Texas’ Silicon Prairie.

Lee Pace has been cast as a lead in new project from Breaking Bad‘s executive producer Mark Johnson. Also staring in the new series is Mackenzie Davis (Breathe In).

It hasn’t been confirmed if AMC will keep Hault & Catch Fire in Georgia if the series is picked up, as many networks film pilots in the state to take advantage of the generous tax credits the state offers to the entertainment industry. Production on the pilot will wrap April 29.
