Drew Goddard to Direct ‘The Sinister Six’

Cabin in the Woods director Drew Goddard is set to write and direct The Sinister Six. The Spider-Man spin-off film will focus on the webslinger’s villains teaming up together.

The original Sinister Six consisted of Doctor Octopus, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, Sandman and the Vulture and appeared as a team for the first time in 1964 for the Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1. Other teammates have included Hobgoblin, Shocker, Venom, Lizard, Tombstone, Rhino, Grim Reaper and pretty much every major Spider-Man villain.

Goddard is working on the overarching story, which will develop over several films. Sinister Six doesn’t have a release date yet, nor does the Venom spin-off. Goddard is currently writing and executive producing Marvel’s Daredevil series for Netflix.
