Meet celebrities

Aug. 4th and 5th is the next weekend of the 4 times a year celebrity show in Burbank. I am going on the 4th and hope to meet--among others--Tab Hunter, Antonio Sabato Jr., Dean Cain, Lee Montgomery (best known for the "Willard" sequel "Ben" or "Burnt Offerings"), and maybe Rip Taylor. Ha! (I know this is the ACTORS page, but I'm also hoping to see "Valley of the Dolls" stars Patty Duke and Barbara Parkins). Here's a link to who will be there:

Hollywood Show

It's fun to go---but $$$$$$. Yikes!

I will post a photo if/when I go (and I actually send the $$$ to see him). Nicest celebrity I've encountered (that I didn't already know) was Gregory Harrison from "Logan's Run"/"Trapper John M.D.". He looked great (he's in his early 60s? Zowie!) and he was just so down to earth and easy to talk to. I'm hoping Mr. Cain will be the same way.

But Tab Hunter and the "Dolls" girls are my priority...

That's pretty cool! I just met Dan Aykroyd this weekend. He was in Saint Louis promoting his Crystal Head Vodka and I was going to Kansas City so I went over and met him. He was extrememly nice and although he was schedule from 1-3 he stayed until every person in line got to meet him (about 6 hours). I met him and got a photo (have not got it off the camera yet) and had him sign a couple of things. You can go to the Crystal Head Vodka site to see his other stops. It's totally free!

Okay---so yesterday I drove all of the way down (and back) to Los Angeles and attended the celebrity show thing. Dean Cain was VERY nice. He seemed "on" the whole time--very polite, very gracious, constant smile. He was a bit pricey (ouch!) for an autographed photo and a picture with him, but...

Here's the shot:

I also saw a few other celebrities.

Tab Hunter looked great for being 81. He was very nice, easy to talk to and -- he only charged for an autographed photo, but also signed my copy of his book AND posed for a photo with me for no additional charge. Zowie! What a nice guy!

A friend back east wanted me to get an autographed photo of Brandon Cruz, the little boy from "The Courtship of Eddie's Father" TV series. I did that for him and got a photo with him since I was there:

Antonio Sabato Jr... Doesn't he EVER get tired of being so dang HANDSOME? The man doesn't age!

I also saw Rip Taylor. He's 78! No confetti was harmed during the taking of this photograph:

I also ran into R.A. Mihailoff (he was there as a fan/guest, like me---and not listed as a celebrity). I met him a few times before and we chatted, while I unknowingly gave him the finger. Ha! He is best known for playing Leatherface in "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3", but has been in a lot of movies.

Finally, although she's an "actress" and NOT an "actor", I saw Barbara Parkins, who was Anne Wells in "Valley of the Dolls" and Betty Anderson in the "Peyton Place" TV series. Patty Duke (also from "Dolls") was supposed to be there as well, but she cancelled.
