If you're having trouble with anything on Fanbolt, please check The Guide to Using Fanbolt (http://www.fanbolt.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7534) first.
I've noticed there's quite a few common questions that are asked that are not completely covered somewhere else, so I'll anwser any of them I see in here, and if it's not in the Guide, as well as in here, or you'd like it further explained, feel free to make a thread ;)
What are keeperlists?
Keeperlists are basically just a thread to claim something that you love on a certain subject, so that you're the one and only "owner" of it on the board. There's keeperlists on many different subjects, and they're all ran by members of the board. Before posting in a keeperlist to claim something, read how many things you can claim in the first post, and make sure what you want isn't taken. They also typically have you display what you keep in your signature, like many members have.
Also note that as of May 30, all keeperlists must be approved by that forums Moderator, a Super Mod, or an Administrator.
What exackly is this board about?
Fanbolt is an entertainment board and is about all things, mainly television, movies, and music. Fanbolt covers all the popular shows in their networks, as well as the minor shows. If the show you're looking for isn't on one of these networks (The WB, UPN, Fox, a sports channel, Sci-Fi), then it's most likely in Others. Movies are broken up into current releases (movies that are in the theatre, or will be soon) and general movies (older movies that are out on DVD, video). Music is broken down into Singers and Bands, and Songwriters (original lyrics, songs, poems, etc written by you).
What's with the funny names?
The funny names on Fanbolt are due to Fanbolt's main board theme of Hollywood. Basically, here's the low-down on the names:
Agent - The Agents are Fanbolt's Moderators. They take care of the forums, and enforce rules, etc.
Excutive Producer - Fanbolt has four of them. The Execs are the Super Moderators, and they are a lot like Agents, only with more power. They can Moderate all of Fanbolt.
Director - You may see a couple of Directors on the board. Basically, they're the Gods. They're the Administrators of the board, and they own it.
The forum names also go along with the Hollywood theme:
FanBolt.Com News - The whole site's basic news.
Auditions - Auditions is the one I think the most people have trouble with. It is not to get auditions for shows, but to introduce yourself if your new to the board.
The Director's Desk - To get help with things to do with Fanbolt, such as getting around the boards, signatures, and posts.
Requests - If you'd like to request a NightClub, forum, or pretty much anything else.
General Movie Discussion - Discuss older movies, that are out on DVD/video.

I'm missing posts! What's going on?
Missing posts happen often. A thread could have been deleted (accidentally or not), a member with the first post in a thread could have deleted their post and K/Oed the thread, or your posts could have been considered spam by a Moderator/Super Moderator/Administrator. There's many ways to lose them, and there's really no way to get them back for you.
How many posts until my name changes?
Your name (Groupie, Extra, etc.) that shows up under your username will change after you've gotten a certain amount of posts. The name and post number is as follows.
0-49: Groupie
50-99: Struggling Actor
100-499: Extra
500-999: Intern
1000-1499: Commercial Actor
1500-1999: Daytime Soap Star
2000-2999: Daytime Talk Show Host
3000-4999: Prime-Time Actor
5000-9999: Hollywood Star
10000-24,999: Hollywood Elite
25,000-????????
What's reputation?
The reputation system is basically a way of rewarding people who make posts you enjoy. If someone posts something witty, or a great fanfic or an artwork you appreciate you can click on the reputation button and leave a comment with "I approve". You will enhance this users reputation and the visual bubbles will build up over time, pointing out those posters who consistantly make thoughtful or enjoyable posts and are an active part of the community.
It takes 100 points to go up a box for the first five boxes. After that, it's 200 points per box, for the next six boxes. The highest amount of boxes you can get is eleven. The number of points is different for all members. The more posts on Fanbolt the member has, the more their reputation is worth. New members, with only 10 or so posts will give you neutral reputation, although it only means they've given you a positive reputation, and they don't have enough posts for it to count towards the number of posts an older member has.
Is reputation and referrals the same thing?
Nope, they're completely different.
Referrals are the number of people you tell about Fanbolt (referring them) who join and put your username as their referral, while reputation is points given when someone likes a post you've made, and gives you reputation points for it.
What are avatars?
Avatars are the little pictures that go next to your posts, under your username, just to kinda identify members. To change yours, go to User CP > User Options and all the way at the bottom, you can change it. If there's nothing to your liking, you can try requesting something you like in the Avatar Request Thread (http://www.fanbolt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13754).
Can I have a custom avatar?
Members with 500 or more posts on Fanbolt are permitted to have a custom avatar. Please note that all avatars must still follow Fanbolt's rules. Avatars must be 85x85 pixels or smaller, and should be kept down in size. Any avatar breaking the rules is subject to removal. Members with less than 500 posts are not permitted to have a custom avatar, unless subject to winning a contest, etc.
Where are Fanbolt's rules located?
Fanbolt's rules are post here (http://www.fanbolt.com/forums/announcement.php?f=5), if you scroll down.
How many pages until a new thread is started?
After 10 pages (usually on the 11th), the Moderator of that forum will come close the thread, and start a part 2 (or 3 or 4...). Please do NOT start a continuation thread. Moderators are to do that, and if it's not done after a couple of days, simply PM that Moderator, or a Super Moderator.
