OLD THREAD (http://www.fanbolt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18599&page=10&pp=15)
Welcome to the Finn Appreciation Thread#3. If you love this hot Aussie who hangs around with Logan and Colin, then your in the right place!
Tanc Sade plays this young exotic and is really from the land down under (in real life)!
In rebuttal to recent posts in the previous thread:
I think later we may discover that Finn's more observant than we think. The whole drunk thing is just an act.I think you hit the nail on the head. Somehow I think much of this is an act to avoid real relationships - possibly he's been unlucky in love in his past. "Once bitten, twice shy" as the saying goes...
We had that episode as a rerun last night. I still enjoy it as much as I did when it was new.I agree! I never tire of Amy's (and the other contributors) excellent writing and story line.
Let continue the love for this lovable, adorable Aussie prankster..

I always love seeing all of the yale boys. Especially Finn. He's not on screen a whole lot, but he makes an impression

Awesome mates! A new thread. :applause:

That's right, City Girl. Finn's a pretty memorable character. It's because of his oddball personality and perpetual "drunkeness."

Don't mind me...I just came by to watch Finn dance.

Oh my god Alli, those to moving ones, drinking is fun and peace  Classic!
Webeh
03-26-2005, 03:07 PM
^ Thanks! I'm planning to make a bunch of tiny ones and sticking them in my signature.

^ I notice your tiny "Sin City" squares keep changing. :>
Elf3748
03-26-2005, 04:46 PM
^Lol yup. Im changing them more and more constantly because the movie comes out next friday. Is that a problem?
Webeh
03-26-2005, 04:51 PM
Nope. It's just fun to see which ones you change and which you don't.

Webeh, I think i like the "Taking Finn out for a walk" the best. I'll take him out for a walk. :D
Webeh

With a leash?
Heather

He might enjoy that.

03-29-2005, 12:42 AM
Oooh I want to get a puppy and name him Finn!!
Webeh
03-30-2005, 12:46 AM
Seriously. With the way Finn flits around, he does need to be put on a leash. Otherwise, Logan and Colin might lose him one day.
Remember "I Jump, You Jump, Jack"? Steph got sent to watch over Finn, making sure that he didn't run off the cliff. That's when a leash would have came in handy.

FINN ruled in Pulp Friction - I just love his accent! > and that dance with Mia - it was perfect!
Question of the day: Is Finn ever going to remember Rori?
Webeh
03-30-2005, 01:39 AM
^ No clue.
That girl's name was Mia? Didn't know that.
Elf3748
03-30-2005, 01:50 AM
^ Didn't know that either. As for Finn remembering Rory, god I hope so! It's getting to the point where I just want to threaten Finn that if he doesn't remember Rory I'll take his booze away. :D
My question of the day: Will Finn and Colin play any active role in Season 6?
Webeh
03-30-2005, 01:56 AM
I hope both Finn and Colin are around next season. But, I'm confident that they will be. ASP cast them as Logan's best friends. You don't just do something like that and let the actors just take off the following season. That'd be foolish. As long as Logan is around, we'll have to see that he has a life outside of Rory. And, his best buds are a major part of it.
Springflower
03-30-2005, 01:59 AM
lol - No, Mia is the name of the Pulp Fiction character that the girl went as - she was dancing with Finn at the End - Has anyone here seen the movie?
Webeh
03-30-2005, 09:31 AM
Nope. I haven't seen any of Tarantino's films sadly. But, I will eventually.

Oh wow - that is sad. I love film, so that's unfathomable to me - but defenitely plan a a movie night! It's the Gilmore thing to do!
^ Didn't know that either. As for Finn remembering Rory, god I hope so! It's getting to the point where I just want to threaten Finn that if he doesn't remember Rory I'll take his booze away. :D
My question of the day: Will Finn and Colin play any active role in Season 6?
I sure hope they will. Honestly, I don't see Logan leaving anytime soon, and we know Rori will still be at Yale, so I don't see them going away either. I know ASP knows a good thing when she sees it - so yes, I predict, we will be seeing a lot more of Finn - Yay!
Elf3748
03-30-2005, 07:50 PM
^True. You think we'll ever find out his last name?
Springflower
03-30-2005, 10:40 PM
You're referring to Finn's last name, right? I don't know if we'll find out anytime soon. I've even looked at his filmographies - and he is only referred to as FINN http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v348/iloveluke/Smilies/3dots.gif
Webeh
03-30-2005, 11:38 PM
Maybe Finn is his last name and something else is his first. You know how some people are called only by their last name...
Springflower
03-31-2005, 12:46 AM
That's very possible! It kinda fits him, actually - lol
Elf3748
03-31-2005, 01:07 AM
Lol ohmigod Alli, when you said that I had a weird flash of Finn being a secret agent and his first name being whatever...but him going Finn, ____ Finn. Ya know like James Bond?
Webeh
03-31-2005, 07:17 PM
Or, Finn could be a nickname. Real name is Tuna, Flounder, Salmon, etc.
Kirsten
03-31-2005, 07:18 PM
Oh, hahahahahahahah, you're so funny, Webeh!
Webeh

I'm getting serious withdrawals...
Kirsten
04-07-2005, 04:41 AM
Not soon enough for me...
;) This thread is actually the most fun to read.
Must have something to do, with the guy it's about.
I'm sure, if Logan stays, Finn and Colin stay, too. They won't have the biggest role maybe, but from time to time we will see them in all their puty and glory. At least I hope so, a lot.
I think
Webeh
04-07-2005, 06:46 PM
It was like that when Rory was at Chilton. Paris' posse and all those other kids were still around, even though they weren't regulars.
Paris' posse :) I like that alliteration.
Yeah, you're definitely right. Madeline and Louise left a gap after season three. They were there from time to time, and they were always funny, always able to bring some good line, and I missed that in season four.
And now they found replacement, but the replacement is better then what's gone, I mean, Finn and Colin are srort of superlatives when it comes to bringing fun and wit in scenes. Especially Finn.
Webeh
04-07-2005, 07:40 PM
Colin and Finn are the new Madeline and Louise.
Springflower
04-07-2005, 07:44 PM
ditto to that Webeh ~ I would only add ~ new and improved ~ ;)
I hope that no matter what happens between Rori & Logan ~ that ASP keeps them around - what am I saying? Of course she will - lol

04-08-2005, 09:34 AM
yes I agree! Finn has added a new zest to GG and I love it when they're on. Does anyone know when season 5 ends? OMG what will we do then?!
Finn need his own show!!!

04-08-2005, 05:21 PM
OMG! I didn't notice this thread before now!Been looking for it but didn't find it - before now. Finn. THE most hilarious aussie I have ever seen. He has always something fun to add.YES, he needs his own show! Drunk finn is almost more fun ;) What would we do without him? I can't imagine who would throw him out of the show..He's just too funny!! NO, he has to stay! No question about it.
Kirsten
04-10-2005, 08:31 AM
I'm in serious Finn withdrawal, and to top it off, I got a PM from Megan yesterday telling me our WB station is showing basketball on April 19, after GG has been on hiatus. Bummer!!! I guess I'll have to tape at the office again and watch it the next day.

^ I think Tanc's totally exaggerating it, which makes it all the more funny!
Imagine, an Australian doing a stereotypical Australian accent. That thought just makes me giggle.

What Finn said made my day, "Good Genes". Although I felt kind of sad he was only in it for 5 minutes. Oh and him and Colin bowing to Rory, classic!
Webeh
05-18-2005, 04:24 PM
They may have had a short scene, but it was a good one. God, I love Logan's minions! They're so entertaining.
Even though Lorelai didn't seem too pleased, it is good to know that they would have covered for Rory if she wasn't there.
Elf3748
05-18-2005, 07:18 PM
^Yes I agree with you. It shows that Rory has made friends with Colin and Finn and they would bail her out if she was in a pinch. :)
Baby_Em05
05-18-2005, 07:20 PM
I hope they are back next year. And I hope more frequently too. Maybe Rory will become better friends with them and get accepted to the LDB or something. It would be great :)

^Me too, i just love the finn and colin act. It was soo hilarious, it was actually the funniest moment of the whole episode.
Elf3748
05-18-2005, 10:01 PM
Oooh Rory getting accepted into the LDB....I wonder. But that would just push Lorelai off the edge.
Baby_Em05

^ I think she has already pushed Lorelai over the edge. But Finn and Colin are quite the characters.

A little more time and in someplace different, Finn not have not hesitated.
Jumped straight into Lorelai and kissed her passionaly.

i could just see finn doing that too!!! can you imagine? he's totally the one character on the show who would do that. imagine what it would be like if he just met luke in the street? i think that would be sooo funny, he'd probably say something like "what good is a hat on backwads, mate?" lol
rory is not going to yale anymore, so what will happen to the boys???
Baby_Em05
05-19-2005, 03:33 PM
I could totally see Finn doing that too. They boys have to stay in the story line. They are halirious. They were in the episode for no longer than 4 minutes, and they certainly made an impression.
Miss_Lionesse
05-27-2005, 12:22 PM
i would like to see him trying to seduce lorelai ....
or going out with Paris

05-27-2005, 03:45 PM
Him and Paris, would give new meaning to the saying "opposites attract". It would be too funny if the two of them dated. Haha
It would be quote funny, if they'd get into a kind of cometition about Paris. I mean, Colin and Finn. Wouldn't it be so funny, when they would both desperately (more or less) to ask her out on a date.
Miss_Lionesse
05-28-2005, 09:51 AM
well, actually, the best scenario that popped into my head is Finn, Lorelai and Luke being somewhere at party together .
finn comes around with his aussie accent and asks Lorelai to dance with her.
Since Luke didn't want to dance with her because he was being a grump, then Lorelai agrees. then luke gets all jealous because Finn is a master dancer and is making laugh and dance....
sarahdee
05-29-2005, 12:01 PM
that would be so cool, imagine how funny it would be to see those two dancing and the tension it would create with luke, he would get soooooo jealous!!!
Baby_Em05
05-29-2005, 04:47 PM
Lorelai would probably laugh her head off if she danced with Finn. He would most likely be drunk, and he would be hitting on her. Luke would be soo jelous

I'm curious:
What would you guys like to see Finn doing next season?
sarahdee
07-29-2005, 02:11 AM
i know i'd definitely like to see him get more involved somehow. i know its kind of fun how he just pops in and out, but it would be cool if he had some kind of effect on something (or someone!)rather then just talking about the good old days or drinking and chasing girls.

I'm curious:
What would you guys like to see Finn doing next season?
I'm not sure how I just thought of this (because it is completely random), but how cool would it be if Finny talked to Rory and encouraged her to go back to Yale? Of course, he would have to give her a whole, long, seemingly sincere speech, and then make a patented Finn comment at the end that would ruin the moment. But, still Rory would take into consideration what he said before the inappropriate comment and come to her senses. Like I said, this is such a random scenario that would never happen.. but I'm just doing some WHAT-IFing.
Anyway, I  Finn!

I like Finn a lot better than Logan. Which isn't saying much, but I really do like him a lot.
Webeh
10-28-2005, 11:42 PM
I do like Finn also. However, I can't really compare him to Logan. We know more about him, so his flaws stick out more. As for Finn, we know he's just supposed to be a side character with little development. And, we get him in small doses.
I'm pretty sure that if we got more Finn, some of his less positive habits will start to disturb me. Take his perpetual drunkeness, constant attempts at getting laid, and his difficulty with remember names. These are pretty bad habits. It wouldn't be funny anymore if we had too much of him. Right now, we just don't care that there may be a potential that this guy could age into a person with a major drinking problem.
Heather
10-29-2005, 01:12 AM
I love every Finn scene. I see him as the comic relief in every ep he's in.
Webeh
10-29-2005, 01:16 AM
^ Yeah, that's what I see him as too. But, that's because we don't have too much Finn, like how we have too much Kirk. (When you start to feel a little sorry for a character that's supposed to be comic relief, that means there's something wrong.)
