On one hand... it's great that they're getting recognition from somebody

On the other... they also gave one to Paris Hilton. And for some odd reason, Ashton Kutcher gets the "highest honor"

I have a question for the "unspoiled" among us. Are you so spoiler free that you don't know when the new episodes will air, or when a hiatus is going to start or be over? Until I joined Fanbolt, it was really frustrating for me to see week after week of reruns and not know when any new episodes were coming. I didn't know about the winter and spring breaks, and I'd get discouraged.

When I've read the sneak preview thread and know some of what is coming, there is still so much in an episode that wasn't there that I still enjoy it, a lot! I'm not trying to convert anybody, believe me, but I just want to know. How much do you like to know? I'd at least want to know the schedule.

Andrew
08-20-2005, 08:32 AM
I usually resort to tvtome.com (which is now "tv.com" for some reason). They usually have some info of episodes months before they air, including intended air dates (although i sometimes avoid reading episode descriptions since they sometimes unintentionally reveal stuff)

Then there are also commercials...

GilmoreGirlJJ
08-21-2005, 11:13 PM
I don't read spoilers, but I do watch the promos and I sometimes read the episode descriptions. I just don't like to know exactly how things are going to play out before they happen. I enjoy knowing the basic details of the episode (the important events/ happenings), just so I have something to look forward to all week. And yes, I usually like to know when hiatuses will end, otherwise I go crazy. I used to not know either. I would wait week after week of a hiatus, hoping there would be a promo for a new episode after the repeat aired. But now that I have access to that kind of information, I really can't resist. So to sum it up (besides air dates), I like to know nothing more than what can be learned from watching tv.

08-24-2005, 01:04 AM
yeah unforunatly i knnow the answer to S5... wll i have a big idea with spoilers hlp :( but im usually spoiler free..

and oo yay there was a teeny tiny shirt promo for S6 after today!! lol, finally

Andrew
08-24-2005, 08:26 AM

I saw it... and it's a little obvious that they shot the last scene of the season finale and the shot they had in the promo at different times because Lorelai's hairstyle suddenly changed and also Luke has a tan.

Zevushlvr
08-24-2005, 04:27 PM
^lol yep i noticed that to haha i thought they would continu on the same day just for like the firstpart but iguess they didnt...

GilmoreGirlJJ
08-25-2005, 12:42 AM
Haha, I hadn't noticed that, I'll have to check it out the next time I see it. But yeah, I assumed it would be the same format as the Season 4 finale into the Season 5 premiere. That's a little odd that they decided not to shoot it all at the same time.

airysarah
08-25-2005, 02:09 PM
i totally didnt notice that, is it true scotts lost loads of weight for this season? cause i couldnt really tell in the promo.

Zevushlvr
08-25-2005, 03:04 PM
yeah i looked at pics in the promo compared to the finale, and e lost alot of weight... wll all i coul tell was hi face was skinier...

GilmoreGirlJJ
08-25-2005, 10:25 PM
Wow, it should be interesting to see this new, skinnier Scott. It's not like he was fat before, but I guess we'll just see (fully) how he looks once the new season starts.

Remember how Wayne Wilcox (Marty) disappeared from GG last season to go film Rent? To anyone who cares, the Rent film site just put up a music player. I think one of the songs featured in the player is Wayne doing part of his one and only solo in the musical. If it truly is his voice, I must say that I'm not really surprised that his singing voice sounds that way. It does sound a little Marty-ish, but deeper.

To find the music clip click here. (http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/rent/) Launch the movie site and then select the music player. Gordan's (Wayne's character) solo is #6 Life Support.

On an additional note, I highly recommend this musical. I've been hooked on this show's music for years.

someone help me! i just started college and they have cable tv, but i dont think they have the WB! what the hell am i going to do, i have to see the new season every night at 8...i have about 10-15 cable channels, and thats all, i went to the college's website to check the channel listings, and under channel 31 it says WB/UPN -- how can there be both stations on one channel? and when i go to channel 31 on my tv in my dorm room, it's upn. can someone save me?

Kirsten
08-31-2005, 05:24 PM
Try to find out which cable company it is and call them. Tell them you want to see Gilmore Girls on Tuesday nights at 8, and find out if that's when they show it. If not, find out what the alternate time is.

XDDD
08-31-2005, 05:37 PM
And if that doesn't work, maybe you can get someone to tape it (or download it) for you...
(My two cents... I know it's not too much, but I know nothing about American networks or channels... sorry!!!)

Andrew
08-31-2005, 06:21 PM
You can set your VCR at home to record it every tuesday at 8'o clock. Then every few weeks or so, come home and take the tape and replace it with another blank one.

If you have a long enough VHS, you can record the show at Medium Quality (so more episodes can fit into a tape)

I just found a vidioclip with Alexis Bledel on it...
I don't know if you've already seen it, but for those who haven't here's (http://images.google.es/imgres?imgurl=http://www.thewb.com/THEWB/Images/Dynamic/i34/GG-breakvideo-B_4x3_240.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.thewb.com/Shows/WithFeedback/0,9310,103661,00.html&h=180&w=240&sz=13&tbnid=NNRioUItWooJ:&tbnh=78&tbnw=104&hl=es&start=1&prev=/images%3Fq%3D%2522less%2Bthan%2Bjake%2522%2Balexis %26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Des%26lr%3D%26sa%3DG) a link to it.
It's amazing how Alexis can go from playing sweet, innocent characters such as Rory, Lina (The Sisterhood) or Winnie (Tuck Everlasting) to rebel bad ones (Becky in Sin City or this video). She's a really good actress :)
Anyhow, I hope you enjoy it!!!!

Zevushlvr
08-31-2005, 08:00 PM

XDDD
08-31-2005, 08:02 PM
I didn't like the song either!!! It's a pretty lame one and, as you said, it only has one line.
I just found it curious because of Alexis (and I did like her in the video)... I didn't know she had done a video clip.

Sorry about this random and pointless post, everyone!
I just wanted to say hi! I've been having some trouble with the internet this last weeks and I haven't been able to post -and probably won't be able to post for a while (my dad installed cable tv and now we don't have tv or telephone or internet connection [God, I hate telephone companies]).
Anyhow, I'm writing this post because I couldn't remember if I had started a new puzzle in any game thread. If so, please ignore my post and post a new puzzle if you haven't done so by now.
Hopefully, I'll be back in a couple of weeks (if not, I think I'll go crazy for I haven't been able to watch last GG episode and missing two more episodes... ARGH!!! Also, I really miss it here!!!! :( )
So, that's all for now, I'll see you guys in a couple of weeks!!!!
Have fun!!!!

@kckgirl How is the hangman thread going?????

well,I dont think they're running out of stuff... they've probably a lot of private stuff to do - like work or study...

the other reason is just that the payment for the server might become to expensive if u run just a private (non-commercial) site.

I try to update every day or every second day at least... but sometimes there is just so much work to do that the site has to wait.

It's true, but I still miss GG.net so much. I loved Gilmore Guide (http://www.gilmoreguide.com/), but it stopped updating last year. It was neatly done. I think the most updated one out there is Gilmore Fan (http://www.gilmorefan.com/), but while it's extremely fun to browse through, I guess i'm too nostalgic of the transcripts and extremely well detailed spoilers on GG.net. Speaking of which...

Thank god for the GG transcripts on Twiz TV (http://www.twiztv.com/scripts/gilmoregirls/) :)

Hey, for all of you who have wanted Lorelai's Pink Coat (as I have), I found a really good subsititue. I got it for Christmas, and it's a lot warmer than I thought it would be. It's a great coat and it's at a really good price. Here's the link:

I'm glad you found it, thelittletwin. :)

Ok, I wanted to bring a topic up...

Many of you know that there is a GG Night Club (Stars Hollow) and some of you are even members of it...
Why am I posting this? Because we're like, less than 10 people posting in there? and I know that some of the members have forgotten about it, mostly because it's been ages since they last posted in there and don't get thread notifications anymore
As for some other people who would be interested in joining us, check this (http://www.fanbolt.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=49)

i used to play the hangman in there (i've been remiss), but to be honest, i didn't spend much time in there because there's way more activity in these forums. which, i guess, just goes to show that your post was well warranted! i'll stop in there next. :)

That would be great :)
It's not that the three people posting in there don't have fun...We do :bgrin: But I don't really see the point in having a whole forum up for just three people...
It would be so much fun if more people stepped by from time to time :)

You know, "Gilmore Girls" and "Family Guy" have many correlations.

• The creator of "FG" Seth MacFarlane was a guest star on "GG," playing the character Zach in the episode "Lorelai's Graduation Day" (2.21)

• Lauren Graham was a guest-star-voice on "FG" as Mother Maggie in the episode "Road To Europe"

• Alex Borstein, who is the voice of various characters on "FG," but most specifically Lois, was originally cast as Sookie on GG, but couldn't accept it because of her contract to "Mad TV" at the time.

• Amy and Daniel Palladino have also written an episode or two for "FG"

I just came in from shoveling a lot of snow, and that's after part of the driveway was plowed. After I cleared 15 inches of snow from the top and sides of the car, the sides of the driveway had to be done again. I'll probably be sore tomorrow.

Back to GG: We're having stupid college basketball Tuesday night! I'm going to try to remember to take a tape to work Tuesday and tape it there (in another state w/different WB station). They're showing it here at 8 Saturday night, but I'm supposed to go to NYC on Saturday and don't know if I'll be back home by 8, probably not.

Hi, Sheila! Welcome to FB! Nice to have you here!

You can find some videos the members make themselves in the Fanart thread (http://www.fanbolt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28273).

Also, there's the GG Websites thread (http://www.fanbolt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17004), where you can find links to GG related websites (duh) where you can find more GG stuff :)

I'm sorry I'm not of much help... I'm pretty sure you'd already found this threads yourself...

See you around ;)

Possibly. The first season is out on DVD and UPN still regularly airs repeats of Season 2 on Tuesdays and Sunday nights.

I would say yes. It's a new mystery every season, it's just the characters and overall plot lines (like her mom leaving and dad being kicked out of being Sheriff) that you will need to catch up on.

hey, anyone know how official imdb is?
cause if its made by the shows, then, do we have a date for the new episode?

Sorry for double post but... am I the only one who thinks they're trying to "dumb down" Gilmore Girls? The recent promos makes it seem so, as if it were another run-of-the-mill airheaded teen drama.

maby to make it apealing to the majority or WB watchers? i really hope not:/ i love that its a smart show, id really hate to be watching, just another teenage show:/

has anyone else kind of lost interest in GG? i don't mean to bash. i've been a hard core fan since the beginning. i'm just saying, it's been kind of blah to me the past 2 seasons. especially season 6 for me. i realized why, too. in the beginning, at least for me, i liked the show because as a viewer, i wanted to BE lorelai or rory, KNOW the people they knew (townspeople), LIVE where they did, HAVE the mother/daughter relationship. and for me, this last season lost a lot of that. i didn't want to be lorelai or rory because they both went through such hard times, especially with each other, but lorelai was always sad about the luke thing (and who can blame her!?) and rory was confused about yale most of the time. as far as knowing the townspeople, we didn't see much of them this season. same with the town itself. and the mother/daughter relationship was so strained. it just didn't do it for me this year as much, and i think the last season i really liked all that much was 3, maybe 4. does anyone else feel the same? i'm not going to stop watching (although, the palladinos leaving is a cryin' shame), but it's just not the same magical show to me anymore, and i wanted to see if anyone else felt the same.

again, not trying to bash. just making conversation.

Andrew
08-26-2006, 10:30 PM
I understand what you're saying. Yes, that sort of "small time charm" has faded ever since Rory's transition into college.

However, I personally would've found it boring if they didn't change it up a bit.

There's just so many storylines you can do with that one basic template concept (Mother/Daughter in a small town) without having to resort to repetition and clichéd storylines (like, what was next after Jess? ANOTHER "Boyfriend in S.H." storyline?" Or for that matter, what was next for Lorelai? Another "serious relationship" that progresses, only to turn sour, while Luke is still on the side awaiting his oppurtunity?)

racheln5
08-28-2006, 09:05 AM
i see what you're saying, too. i guess i don't know what better storylines there could be. (although the whole april thing is a little contrived)

on a different note, did anyone else notice the little easter egg on the season 5, disk 1? i found it kind of by accident last night. are there any more?

i was kind of half asleep when i saw it, so i hope it's right :)

if you go to features and press up on the remote, a bigger leaf shows up, and when you hit enter, it shows a short little montage of the 100th episode party, and i mean short. it's probably not longer than a minute or two. check it out, though! i wish there were more like this, or that it was longer. why have cameras there and then only show 1 minute?!

09-01-2006, 02:36 AM

Does anyone know why the random one episode break? It pains me so. On the plu side, house is new...

Kirsten
10-31-2006, 05:46 AM
I'm guessing it's because it's Halloween and because they want a certain episode to show during November sweeps. Both would be a good reason for a break. Next Tuesday is election day in the USA, and that's always a terrible night for TV. I hope we can get a break from election results and watch GG.

Okay I have been looking for a picture for quite a while now. It is from the season two promo shoot. There is the pic of Lauren with Alexis on her back, and one time, one time only I saw a second pic with them falling over. I was just wondering if anyone has a copy or knows what I am talking about. It is possible that I imagined it I guess, but I am sure I have seen it. It is of Lauren giving Alexis a piggyback ride and they are falling over. I would really like to find it, if anyone can help I will be very greatful!!! Does anyone know what I am talking about?

For anyone that loves Scott Patterson, you might be interested in the following:

Scott is auditioning for the role of Nathan Wallace/The Repo Man in Director Darren Lynn Bousman's latest project, Repo! A Genetic Opera, a production that can only be described as bold and innovative. Repo! Is being touted as a rock opera on a dark and grand scale, where the entire dialog is sung. This role is something that Scott would be able to sink his teeth into and flex his acting muscles, a role that he is more than up to the challenge for.

So if you would like to see Scott in this intriguing role, support this petition (http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/scottpattersoninrepo).

And please check out this site (http://scott-campaign.livejournal.com/)as well to see why Scott would be perfect for this part and to keep updated on what's happening. Also please leave comments to show your support.

A poster at TWoP -- Lea Gaines -has received a message from Scott Patterson himself and I am forwarding it

"Hello all.

I want to thank each and every one of you for offering your support on the Repo role. I felt you all in the room yesterday, and I can't tell you how much it means to me that so many have taken up the cause. I am moved beyond words, and I hope to reward all of you with winning the role of Nathan Wallace/Repo Man and giving you all my best on screen. I have never wanted anything more, and a chance to play this role and to work with Darren Lynn Bousman again would be a defining moment in my life to be sure.

I am already planning to debut the song 'Legal Assassin' on the David Letterman show when we do press for the movie should I win the role. Gotta think ahead!

Again, thanks for your support and keep it coming, gang. We are getting close to the top now! Back to work for me .

Love you all.

Scott"

There are two producers who are still not on board yet, but they are close. If you want to help Scott land this role, you can call the Hotel where Darren and the producers are staying to leave messages at the switchboard for both Mark Burg and Carl Mazicone -- stating one simple thing: "Scott Patterson is the REPO MAN" or "Scott Patterson = Nathan Wallace" or "Scott Patterson for REPO"

Here is the link:Metropolitan Hotel (http://www.metropolitan.com/contact.asp)

I don't know about you but I really want to hear SP sing on Letterman!!
