It is too early to tell whether there will be extra terrestrial creatures involved, but from the downloadable trailer and pilot episode, the series is going to be creepier than X-Files but without losing the enigma of X- Files.

Basically, it is the story of two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, who grew up as warriors in a fight against forces of darkness. But while such an underlying theme sounds tacky, the execution of the brothers' story is brilliant.

Experts in martial arts, Sam and Dean have little or nothing to do with the likes of Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So, they do not go around bashing the skulls of vampires and ghouls.

No, their story is much scarier than that. Having lost their mother in a fire precipitated by a mysterious evil force, they receive warrior training from their ex-Marine father who is bent on hunting down those responsible for their mother's death.
