"From the beginning, we loved the concept and felt this would be a tremendous asset to our schedule. We were amazed at the talent we discovered and we're delighted the series will be returning for another season on FOX," said Mike Darnell, Executive Vice President of Alternative Programming and Specials. "We are excited that SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE will be returning for its second season. This show is unique and unlike anything else on television," said executive producer Nigel Lythgoe. "We are very proud of the show and are thrilled that it performed so well throughout the season."

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE finished Summer 2005 ranked as the No. 1 program in its time period among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34/25-54, Men 18-49/18-34, Women 18-49/18-34/25-54 and Teens. The series ranked among the Top 10 summer programs in Adults 18-49 (#5), Adults 18-34 (#6), Teens (#6), Women 18-49 (#3), Women 18-34 (#2), Men 18-34 (#9) and Females 12-17 (#1), and in the Top 15 among Men 12-17 (#13).

Nick Lazzarini of Van Nuys, CA, was the winner of the show's first season, dancing away with a $100,000 cash prize and a New York City apartment rent-free for one year.

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and comes from 19 Entertainment Ltd. and dick clark productions. It is executive-produced by Simon Fuller, Nigel Lythgoe and Allen Shapiro.

I laughed when I first heard the idea for this show, but apparently it did pretty well. I still think FOX could do better summer programming... like say.... The O.C. summer edition! :)

Great my DD and I love this show! Hopefully they will only have real dances on it this year. Some of the stuff they added last year was horrible. Also I think it was the worst year for them having to apologize.
