<img src="http://www.fanbolt.com/blog/potter.jpg" width="85" height="85" vspace="5" hspace="5" align="right" border="0" alt="Flying Car!">Muggles everywhere should be on the lookout for the blue 1962 "flying" Ford Anglia, registration number 7990 TD. A thief reportedly broke into a British studio lot and stole the car made famous in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Police are investigating but have no suspects, but it seems like the work of You-Know-Who to us. Crazy!

"The film prop was being stored under a tarpaulin. It was not in good condition and could not have been driven away under its own steam," a police spokesman told the U.K.'s Press Association.

Harry has become something of a target for ne'er-do-wells. In May 2003, a British forklift driver was arrested for swiping an advanced copy of Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix and offering it for sale.

The latest heist comes three weeks before the arrival of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, scheduled for release Nov. 18. In addition to the regular Potter players, Ralph Fiennes joins the cast as the flesh-and-blood Lord Voldemort.

Meanwhile, Rowling's latest installment, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, has sold an astounding 300 million copies worldwide since hitting bookstores July 16.

All this stleaing stuff is ridiculous. The nerve of some people. But hey that's just my moral fibre...apparently, I have some, unlike others.

But, it's not like they could really sell it right?

I mean it's a pretty popular, recognisable car...I don't know.

yeah i heard about that! i thought it was pretty funny too, but how can you steal such a thing? i mean, it couldn't even drive, so it had to be a lot of work....and what are you going to DO with it once you have it? weird...

Accio Ford Anglia. Accio is used to call things to you but I think you have to be able to see them or know where they are. Am I right.... Sisterhood?

It's so funny. this person must be either, REALLY obsessed or just desperately needed a car that didn't work

Jess - I don't know if you have to know the exact whereabouts of the object you're trying to 'accio'.... I don't think they mentioned it... hmmm Now I'm confused.

 I think you'd have to imagine it on where it is so that you can 'accio' it.. Remember when Hermione was teaching Harry how to properly do this spell? I think she mentioned that Harry has to imagine it flying to him from where it came from? I dunno.. I might have made that up.. Or I might have read that whole 'accio' concept in a fic..

 I find this really funny.. Someone stole the flying car.. I thought it was some kind of joke at first. Haha.

If the culprits strip the car down.. Change the frame thingy and stuff.. Maybe no one would recognize it and they could sell it.. Although.. Why would anyone want to do that.. They could've just stolen a regular car.. :ponder:

I am thinking I learned the concept of accio from The Draco Trilogy. I think they mentioned something about you had to know exactly where it was to accio it. Oh well. It is not canon but it sounds logical.
