Sources say they will, and according to one report, that’s why Cruise and his preggers fiancée are taking so long to get hitched. Holmes’s father, Martin, is a lawyer and is representing his daughter in the negotiations, reports the upcoming issue of The Star.

Martin Holmes “is playing hardball with the prenup negotiations,” according to the tab, which quotes a source as saying that Holmes wants to make sure that his daughter will receive “a lump sum payment in the millions if the marriage should dissolve before the five-year mark.”

Such terms are unusual for a prenup, which usually awards a spouse more money for a longer marriage, but, the source tells the mag: “The Holmes family would never tell Katie if they thought her marriage was doomed from the get-go, but they are pressuring her to hold out not only to protect her interests, but those of her child.”

Holmes and Cruise’s rep didn’t return calls for comment, but noted divorce attorney Raoul Felder told The Scoop, “Given Tom’s history, if they don’t have a prenup, forget a lawyer, they need psychiatrists.”

It's just so typical that they never agree on the prenup and that breaks them up before they even get to the alter.. It's one thing to be yet another couple to marry and divorce after a couple of months when it comes to hollywood, but when there's a baby involved, it just makes it sad. I actually do hope they manage to stay together for a good couple of years.. altough I wouldn't really get my hopes up..

I have no idea. When they first announced she was pregnant, they made it seem as though she was only a few months along. Then all those pictures started surfacing that made it clear she was MUCH further along, but no one really has any idea how far along.

Every time I see them, though....ick. Grossest couple ever.
It's good that Tom finally got rid of his sister as his PR person, and hired someone real. He needs it.

US magazine Life and Style has published a story claiming TomKat have cancelled plans to marry and are planning to split after the birth of their baby.
Tom has branded the reports as rubbish.

I know I'm probably one of the few who actually like TomKat but fan or not, if the reports are true it's sad or if they are false it's sad and really annoying that people would want to hurt the couple with a story like this. :down:

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have welcomed their first child together, two inside sources told PEOPLE.

The couple "joyously welcomed the arrival of a baby girl, Suri, today," the actor's rep said in a statement after PEOPLE first broke the news exclusively. "The child weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches in length. Both mother and daughter are doing well."

The name Suri has its origins in Hebrew meaning "princess," or in Persian meaning "red rose," the rep added.

In late October, barely six months into their romance, an ecstatic Cruise and Holmes revealed that they were expectant parents.

Cruise, 43, and Holmes, 27, had made no secret of their desire to start a family together: When asked by PEOPLE last June if they were planning to have children, Holmes smiled and said simply, "Yes."

Friends of the Toledo, Ohio-bred Holmes called her perfectly suited to her upcoming role. "She almost seems born for motherhood," said Oliver Hudson, actress Kate Hudson's brother and an old pal who costarred with Holmes in Dawson's Creek. "She's a nurturer. She's got mother qualities a lot of girls her age don't have."

Cruise, meanwhile, is "a great dad already," according to his pal, actress Leah Remini. He has two children from his marriage to Nicole Kidman: Isabella, 13, and Connor, 11, whom Cruise and Kidman adopted as infants. Remini told PEOPLE that both kids are "so cool…You can sit and talk to them about life."

As for marriage, Cruise and Holmes plan to tie the knot soon, Cruise said on the German TV program Wetten, dass..? on April 1. "In summer we want to get married. I won't let this woman get away."

Immediately ahead for the new dad: the May 5 release of Mission: Impossible 3. Holmes stars in the recently released satirical film about Washington politics, Thank You for Smoking.

That's what freaks me out about the whole couple. I mean silent pregnancy? And Katie seems pretty vapid and unopinionated, like she's in a trance or something whenever she makes an appearence. I like her from her Dawson's Creek days, so I'm glad they're getting a prenup. Then again I always thought Tom and his couch thing was kinda sweet. :bgrin:

I think it was just those around her keeping calm and quiet. Katie herself could make as much noise as she needed to.
I'm sure all those who have given birth would agree that whilst going through the actual giving birth process you need to make some noise :lol:

No, with Scientology, the ENTIRE room (including Katie) needs to be silent. They believe that the baby needs to enter the world in a "calm" way. She's allowed to moan and stuff, but she can't scream "negatively". katiem_57 posted this in another thread -

According to Scientology founder, women are not allowed to scream during birth even if they are in so much pain. The child must enter the world in a "calm" way. There is also no music allowed to be playing during the birth. Holmes is allowed to moan, but she is not allowed to scream negatively about the pain that she is going through.

I know there's not a lot of TomKat fans and loads of the baby doesn't exist or it's a freak or the baby is not Tom's etc but I'm actually a fan of TomKat and hope they'll continue to be very happy together.
