Well Java is another name for coffee and Junkie is what Luke calls Lorelai in the first episode of Gilmore Girls ever. It's just a fun way of saying the Luke and Lorelai pairing.

And yes, Literati is alother name for Rory/Jess (becuase they both love books).

does anyone else feel that something has been off about their storyline before the april thing. They started to get a bit boring and then bam we are hit with april. I think that there was so much potential with the april storyline. I just don't think its been handled properly.Rather than focusing on lorelai supporting luke we are getting luke lying to lorelai for two months and then not getting that she would be hurt by a wedding postponement. I just feel like the luke that really knew lorelai isn't there anymore. Where is he? Part of what I really enjoyed about their relationship was the fact that they were so in touch with how the other was feeling. This season they seem really off-base. Atleast in the latter part of the season. Maybe once the season is complete it will all make more sense. who knows.

The idea of the elopement is not so bad... I highly doubt Lorelai wants all those relatives who started calling her because of the newspaper announcement in her wedding. But Lorelai is supposed to end up having a "good" relationship with her mother when the show ends and eloping is not going to help her to do that, so I doubt it will happen. We already saw how badly Lorelai wanted her mom to be a part of her wedding in her previous engagement, and even though Emily has caused a lot of trouble in this relationship, I think she still wants her to be a part of it (as long as it on her (Lorelai's) terms).

As for wanting them married already... I do want them married, but they really need to make things right again. As much as I want to believe they are ok, they aren't: there's this huge wall up between them that keeps them from talking -really talking- to each other. True, Lorelai did tell Luke some of the stuff that was bugging her, and they talked about that stuff. But there's still a lot to talk, mostly April related stuff, and they need to talk about it before getting married.
The eloping conversation was nice and cute (in a really non-cute sense) and it made us see that things are going to be ok, that they really want to get married. But if they did elope right now there would still be a Ceasar when they came back telling them that April is coming at 3. And when they are getting married, April should be at the wedding and Luke and Lorelai should be all in, not momentarily forgetting about the problems between them, problems that would fully hit them back after the wedding.

I hope this made sense... what I'm trying to say is that I really want them to get married, but their wedding has to be as close to perfect (for them) as possible. It shouldn't be shadowed by the unspoken doubts both have in their heads. And an elopement, right now, would be so.

I totally get what your saying XDDD I don't think they should elope it just isn't the right thing to do. Luke needs to take the wall down and talk to Lorelai and tell her all his worries about April and the wedding. I think if he let Lorelai,April & him sit down and talk things would get better. I agree that Emily would be furious if they eloped and I would have to agree with her this time,Lorelai wants her mother there and much as Emily wants to be at her wedding. I agree both of them need to be All In and have no doubts what so ever,I hope Emily and Lorelai can a have a much better relationship before they get married that would sure make things easier. Also Emily and Richard are on there way to excepting Luke but they need to try harder to know him better. I want them to get married when its the right time and they both are completely in LOVE with eachother.

To be honest I don't want them to elope. I want a big beautiful wedding with all the trimmings, but I fear ASP will never give that to us. Another thing is I don't think they are ready any more. They need to work some things out. Luke needs to stop shutting lorelai out and Lorelai needs to learn how to speak the hell up. Until they do that, they should not marry. I never thought I would say this, but I think Lorelai and Luke should marry in the winter once they have worked through their issues. They just aren't ready right now.

I'll be surprised if they get married at the end of season 6. I agree with those of you who think that they need time to sort things through before they rush into it. I have always adored Luke and Lorelai, and the prospect of them getting together pre season 5, but they have been rather blah in season 6, as much as I hate to say it. But then and again, I have only seen some season 6 episodes, and not others, so maybe I've only caught the bad ones! May I ask which episode it was when Luke told Lorelai he loved her?

A few pages back, people were asking about Sophies. I think it is something to do with Master and Comander... for some reason I think the ship was called Sophie, but please do not quote me on that!

i wouldnt mind an elopement, so long as lorelai still wore the gorgeous dress lol. as for emily being involved in the wedding because she and lorelai are supposed to eventually have a good relationship, maybe if lor and luke eloped that would provide some mother/daughter conflict for season 7 which could be resolved at the end with emily being involved a lorelai pregnancy or something... just speculating. i think so long as luke and lorelai resolved the april thing before marrying an elopment might be really good. or maybe im just being hopeful cause i really really want them to get married on the season finale... vegas!

Actually I don't care anymore if they are getting married this season(I don't think it's going to happen), if they elope, if they have a big fancy or small town wedding, I just don't care when or how it happens.
Ok I would want the Gilmores,Rory,Jess,Liz,TJ and the townies(plus Mia) there but that's not the most important thing.
It's more important to me THAT it happens(well I'm 99,9% sure) and that there are no barriers, lies or hidden thoughts between them anymore which could leave the slightest doubt about the others true feelings.
Abolutely nothing should be left unsaid.I want eveything out, everything settled and every problem solved!
I want them to be so sure, so incredibly happy on this day(until forever) that they are running around with a foolish bright grin on their faces all the time.

I've been trying to figure out if this thread is closed... No one has posted in here for a long LONG time.

I needed a thread to rant after last episode (After last episodes actually)... and this is THE thread. I really can't believe what's happening... and what is going to happen (don't worry, I won't post any spoilers here). I really can't stand it. I can't stand seeing Lorelai and Christopher, I can't stand Luke's new cap (I bet you guys have noticed), I just... I can't stand it.

(I know, I'm repetitive... and redundant).

I keep watching the show in hope it all gets fixed (seriously, I force myself to watch the show, which had never happend before). But it doesn't look like it.

I completely agree, I'm alright with Christopher being with Lorelai for now because it will hopefully show her that there is only one man out there for her, and he's the guy who serves her coffee.

I agree about being with Christopher for now because I think it's just something to give us more Java Junkie angst cause if theyre serious about this coupling than they are seriously mistaken its too sudden and surreal, Lorelai has not dealt with all her Luke issues and he certainly hasn't. I've said it once and I'll say it again: calm before the storm. The second Luke & Lorelai collide, the chris/lor relationship will come crumbling down.

Saloeut, thanks! My sister made them for me, and the words are from a song that no one else but those in my family and those who know Jeff Ostler would know. (he's a family friend, and an amazing singer, but chose to record music rather than make it himself. He did however, do a few recordings of himself that I've cherished over the years. He just recently gave us a new cd, called This Is Jeff and the smaller one was a song on it. I completely adore it. The larger one was also from the cd, but it's one that i would listen to when I was little over and over. I loved it. That's probably more than you wanted to know, though ;) )

I have a feeling that this thread will pick up soon, since Lorelai and Christopher are finished. Hopefully, we'll get some Java Junkie action soon!

Luke is really the one for Lorelai, I think. Do you think they will get back together? Do you think that in the last episode that Luke just looked into Lor's Eyes and then realized that he had changed? Hmm. I think that Luke has changed because selling his boat and buying a new one made me realize that he has potential, and wants to make a difference in Lorelai's world. Luke and Lorelai are meant to be. But my real question is:

What is your prediction of what Luke is going to do?

Heres Mine:
Luke and Lorelai will bump into eachother unexpectadly AGAIN. and then Luke will stutter a little bit, Lor will look into his eyes and just tell him to shutup, and then they will kiss. The First kiss of the beginning of a changed and more realistic relationship that was meant to be.

Last episode was bittersweet, really. It's sad that he's changed but not fast enough for her.. and she seemed to keep that comment for herself, but her facial expression was touching.

I still have no idea of how they'll be back together, I guess it will be something slow.. It's been almost an year and they aren't even friends yet. They have to go back to being friends before considering jumping back to their relationship.

I almost cried and I haven't watched this show religiously since season 5. But the scene was just so bittersweet and amazing.
