Some articles even went as far as to say that scripts were already being written.

However, Access Hollywood has learned that those reports are completely false.

"Not one ounce of truth," Jeff Zucker, CEO of NBC Universal Television Group, told Access of the rumors.

There were also rumblings of an all-male spin-off show starring David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc. But yet again, nothing more than false reports.

"Friends" ended its 10-year run back in May 2004. More than 52 million fans tuned in to the series finale.

Rumors from: http://www.accesshollywood.com/television/6371300/detail.html

Friends is returning to television after former cast members agreed to a multi-million dollar deal to star in four one-hour specials.

In a meeting before Christmas, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry reportedly agreed to a $5 million deal with NBC for another go-round.

Sources say scriptwriters have already started writing for the four double episodes, which are due to air sometime this year.
Some have said that Jennifer Aniston was the last to agree to the new deal.

An NBC insider says:"She's the one who had been holding out. But she's now agreed to reprise her role of Rachel Green. Bringing them back is a dream come true."

The insider predicts, "Ratings will go through the roof."

Note- God I wish this is true. I miss Friends sooo much! Noah and I have been watching the whole series on dvd since Christmas, and its making me realize how much I miss it!

Eh... I personally think the series should stay as it is; ended. They could do a reunion show somewhere down the line, but other than that, there really is no reason to bring it back...

I mean, the stories are told. And if you're considering the continuity aspect of it: the basis isn't what it used to be anymore if (seeing as they all don't live with/near each other and have their own families now, where as the original basis of the show was 6 close friends liviing in NYC)

There's no reason to keep dragging/milking every little thing out of it. This is pretty much why the show "Joey" has been a failure thus far.
(that and the whole "I'm Joey... I'm a lovable goofball that is a little slow, but not with the ladies"-thing is a tad bit tiresome)

Friends is probably one of my favorite shows of all time, but I'm with Andrew, its done with. If it were true I'm not sure how I'd feel. If they wanted to do an episode on Joey with all of them coming to see him for one reason or another, I'd watch that cuz its a special one episode thing. And probably the only episode of Joey I'd watch

I've adored watching it on DVD, but I agree with pretty much everybody else that it coming back would be a bad idea.

Part of me wants the gang back, no sitcom has ever fulfilled my expectations like FRIENDS, but I want it to be what it is, a sweet, distant , fun memory

A Friends movie would be kind of cool...

iceteaiscrazy
01-27-2006, 01:03 PM
It would be. And it might fill the small void that's been missing since the show ended.

Ashlyn
01-27-2006, 01:16 PM
Yep!

Of course, I'm sure it'd be practically impossible to get them all attatched.

iceteaiscrazy
01-27-2006, 01:22 PM
Yeah, that sucks.

I was also thinking about the rumors of the all-guys spin off and considering Chandler and Monica are married, that would be practically impossible.

Ashlyn
01-27-2006, 01:30 PM
Very true... unless they tried to pull of some stupid divorce storyline, which would pretty much ruin it as it was.

iceteaiscrazy
01-27-2006, 01:48 PM
Yeah, seriously. It just wouldn't work.

Ashlyn
01-27-2006, 02:35 PM
... and a boys spinoff + Monica wouldn't work.

SO.. meh. Seems like it's pretty much done, but there WERE 10 awesome seasons.

Oh yes they were. They were the greatest we could ask for!
