View Full Version : Man, this forum is deader than dead.
With everything going on in the world, no one has anything to say about it!? Military generals calling for big-daddy Rummy to resign, Bush's press secretary, Scott McClellan, stepping down. Bush in China trying to smack around Hu Jintao... (crickets chirping).. I guess I'm striking out here. Those crazies in Iran are still messing with enriching uranium and I hear there's a war going on somewhere over there... in Persia, or Arabia or something? I dunno...
Well, lemme just give Queen Elizabeth II a very happy (belated) 80th birthday wish. The ole broad is still hangin' in there!

Had to look up what a corgi was... at first glance, I thought it was something else... actually, nevermind; bringing the conversation to that area could be drastic.

 I was actually talking about the actual word "corgi," which if you took out the 'C', it looks like "Orgi" which would be a similar spelling to the word "orgy", in the same post with references to "Queen Elizabeth II" and "Camilla Parker-Bowles"
I should stop explaining it... :ebraise:

Yes... and if you need anymore inspiration, add Prince Charles to the picture.
::shudders::
Man, I had no idea my thread would spark a discussion about Queen Elizabeth II and Camilla Parker-Bowles involved in an orgy.
Good stuff!
I do think this topic does deserve a bit more discussion and consideration if I'm able to formulate a relevant position on the matter.

Gem! It's you!
I like the Queen, for some crazy reason. She seems so fit and she will survive her son for pure spite :)
And yeah, the forum is dead. I tried posting some more the last weeks and hoped it would be picked up but then I left and nobody paid attention to the threads anyway, and it didn't really liven up...

You know, now that I think about it, I don't think it's lack of actual subjects, but rather lack of participation in discussions.
That is what I think anyway. You open threads, I did...but people seems perfectly unbothered...

Especially about the Queen bit. I'm sorry if I'm gonna offend anybody (but apparently we're all aching for some heated debate anyway...) but I find monarchies total bullshit (<-- is that allowed here??). We have a Royal Family here in the Netherlands too and it seems to me that nearly the entire country is in love with them. I just don't get it. What's so great about saying these people are somehow better than us because they were born in a certain family. Not only are we supposed to look up to them but they get to live off my money too! Whenever they decide to marry the entire country gets to see 5 million (not an exact number btw) of their tax money spend on it and I'm having problems getting the money to get my car fixed. F*** that!
I they can shove Queensday up their a** too!
(Sorry I have a certain amount of anger regarding this issue. Plus it's Queensday tomorrow.)
 I like monarchies in a way, but I am pretty sure I wouldn't if I did live in one...so I am partcularly one sided.

That's not an argument, it's just contradiction!
Erhm...*scampers off to spread Monty Python love*
Ummm...*throws a bit of meat in pot, hoping it will be STIRRED*
Personally, I believe that no one should rule a country by birthright. You pick the right family to be born into, and BOOYAH, you get to make decisions that affect MILLIONS of people's lives.
I know, I have never been for monarchistic power. It is arbitrary, it leads to dictatorship and all that...
I just always thought it was kind of nice how in Britain, when your life was boring you could always still look at what the royals are doing...
 And the queen has this awesome taste of hats...it is plain entertaining.

^ she does have great hats thats true. The Royal family have always kind of annoyed me but then they're one of Britains biggest attractions so if we got rid of them I guess tourism would take a hit lol

Idea...
What about actual debates in here?
Like we will have Negative/Affirmitive teams, an adjudicator and then we will pick a topic and go for it?
That could put a bit of life back in the old place ;)
Yeah...but you know, that would force people to go out and think :)
Sorry...that came out the wrong way

SHE HAS THE BESTEST DOGS IN THE WORLD. THAT IS WHY SHE IS THE QUEEN. PLUS SHE ROCKSSSS.
*Calms down and takes some xanax*
Yes she does. If she didn't have the bestest dogs in the world, it'd be like eh poo. I don't care about her.
 Yeah, she also has the dogs...how could I forget about that?
HappyHamster

So does the Dutch queen. She actually had one dog die in a fox hole once. Seriously...it got stuck and suffocated. Quite tragic actually. I have nothing against the Royal Dogs.
With Queens Day over I can resume a more sane approach to the whole monarchy thing, which means my point of view is still the same but with less swearing.
Just wanted to say about the debate idea that we tried that once some time ago, but it didn't really catch on. Debates such as Current Events used to see sprang from true passion about ideas, whereas organized debate was just too..organized I guess.
I still read all the threads that are made, but unfortunately I do not know enough about most of these threads to have something intelligible to say about them.
What we really need is another US Presidential election to get us going again.

Yeah, I don't really know enough about most of the stuff to really comment on them. If there as just one topic for a debate, though, I would research it
But I'm too lazy too do that otherwise...
Well...topic-wise, there's always the body bungle in Australia of late...the soldier that died in Iraq- firstly it was cleaning his gun, then it was suicide, then it definitely wasnt, now I'm not sure...perhaps it was a pink elephant?
One things for sure, there's some interesting government censorship going on...
And then they sent back his body...only to find it was the wrong one.
I don't know...I am not really the master of political knowledge and sometimes I think I better shut up before I say something completely useless and dumb, but I am interested and try to make myself an idea and opinion of things going on...it is just complicated.

The weird thing is though that it's not even her birthday. It's her mother's. Our Queen, not yours. :D It's a national holiday here too, but it fell on a Sunday this year, which for some reason it's not allowed so it was celebrated on the Saturday. Queens Day is completely useless to me if it's on a day I'm already off anyway. They say you get the day off when it's on a week day, but I really can't remember. Anyway, I was a student, every day was a day off if I decided it to be so. I reall miss being a student...sigh.
