I think the best music moment on the show so far has to be Jude performing "Skin" without a doubt. That was amazing.

I've said this a million times but I really do wish they would put up the alternate versions of songs on the official website or something. I'd like to have "Frozen" and Jude/Mason's "Who Am I Fooling" and all the other different songs that weren't released on the soundtracks. Or maybe release them on the soundtracks as bonus material to play on the computer. Didn't they do something like that with Degrassi?

I also love when she performed SKin because it was live and I think that has been the only time she has sang a song live. On the finale "Another Thin Line" was also live, if nobody has noticed, but it was only a part of the song.

yeah, even when alexz performed skin for the instant star backstage pass, it was amazing. that song has got to have meaning to her as well, because she really sings it like there's something behind it- which is something we don't always get from the songs since she's singing them as jude. if that makes any sense...

i love all of the music... but i when i don't think about scenes in the show connecting the songs, i really love another thin line, white lines, and skin. but when i do think about the show, i can replay the scenes in my head- so it's pick up the pieces, it could be you, or temporary insanity. i can't get over jude singing with tommy. or to tommy. :D

I have a ridiculous love of those scenes where Jude and Tommy are writing "Could Be You." It's all about the way they look at each other!

I think "Skin" was just written by Alexz and her brother, so it might be a personal song she had written outside of the show, but decided to use anyway. I wonder if she regrets not saving it for her own album, even though it was a brilliant moment on the show.

i heard she is or has recorded her own album, and it's due out in canada this fall.. i have no idea where i got this information from, but do you know if there's any truth to it? i really want to hear something done by alexz, and not just jude. though, i absolutely love it all.

her brother wrote "another thin line", too. it's cute that he is so.. present in her life, and that his career fits right along with hers. aw.

I know Alexz was working on her own album but I have no idea when it is supposed to be released. I'm looking forward to it though! I'm sure it will be awesome.

I'm totally addicted to Alexz Johnson/Instant Star music, the ones I can't stop listening to are; That Girl, Time To Be Your 21, Skin, and Liar Liar. Love them.

I love Skin too, is the best song and I like when Jude sings and plays acoustic guitar alone and Tommy thinks that Skin is about him. Other songs that I liked to have are the "Pick up the pieces" version sang by Jude and Boyz Attacks and "There's us" version Jude/Patty in the last episode. But I really really love "Frozen" (how much is cute Tom that sings with Kwest with rasta's on his head?) and when he sings "24 hours".

Just a question: which is the song sang by Eden out of tone when Jude leaves her alone in the charity concert?

Actually, skin was made for the show. Alexz did co-write it, but, it wasn't used for own music

You might have to buy the soundtracks online from somewhere like Amazon or maybe ask your music store if they can order it for you, if they don't carry it. Or you can get it from iTunes.

ExecProducer posted some info about the season three soundtrack. It sounds like Alexz only has a few songs on the soundtrack this year, while the rest are Cory Lee, Tyler Kyte, the chick that sings for Patsy, etc. So it sounds like we'll be getting the songs by the other characters.

I'm kind of torn because I LOVE the Jude songs, obviously, so I'm a little confused that some aren't being included and instead they are releasing the Karma versions... But also I'm annoyed they didn't do this last year, because I loved Mason's song and the Jude/Mason version of "Who Am I Fooling." I wish they would at least put the alternate cuts on another cd or on their website.

The more I look at that list, the more upset I get with it :lol: I keep listening to Jude's version of "Darkness Round the Sun" and I wish they'd at least release it online or something. I also love - again, Jude's "Worth Waiting For".

I think they should definitely release all of the music online regardless of the soundtrack. This season has had some really great music.

i love the music on this show. Shooting Star by Lindsay Robins isn't one of my favorite at all.

Exec said there is going to be a Greatest Hits (or something like that) album released later this year, which seems early, but I'm guessing it's probably due to everyone complaining about the lack of Alexz songs on this one. Although I hope it's more new stuff than old stuff, because we have the first two soundtracks already and they're fine. :lol: It would be nice to have the unreleased songs from the first two seasons and then all the Alexz songs they didn't release for season three...

Until then I gave it a listen and, well...

The Alexz songs are definitely my favourites, although I think I would have preferred a different song in place of The Breakdown. (Love To Burn!) The other three are really fantastic though.

As for the rest...

I like Tyler's solo work on his myspace (and thus What You Need) but...I really didn't like Worth Waiting For.

No Shoes, No Shirt shouldn't have been included IMO. I Will Be The Flame is catchy (but why not include the duet instead?) and Love To Burn isn't bad. I really, really want Alexz's Love To Burn though, because it means more as a viewer and also it has a totally different vibe.

Shooting Star isn't too bad, although I miss the Patsy-ness it had when Zoie sang it, if that makes sense.

I'll have to listen again but, yeah. Not my favourite soundtrack. It definitely makes me wonder how they'll handle next season's...

Just came back from mastering the Greatest Hits album. Thank you for all the suggestions, I really tried to take them into account... please understand that in the short time available there turned out to be only so much we can do, legally and practically. For those who wanted songs which were in the background of the show and never appeared on an album, we felt they couldn't properly be included on a Greatest Hits album, as they were hardly "greatest hits", but maybe we can include some in a future compilation album! And we were light on the Season 3 songs, because there will be a Season 3 album released at the same time... but you will note that due to popular demand we did include a Jude/Karma Duel version of I Will Be The Flame, and we've remixed some old favourites, and I think the remixes sound fabulous! Perfect and I Just Wanted Your Love are previews from Season 4 (IJWYL was written by Alexz and Brendan).
