Hi!

Now, I know this will make me sound silly. But I'm just curious. I lookede everywhere for this; When I view peoples profiles. I always see they have 'Mutal Friends Of' or something like that on their profiles. I was wondering, how I can have that on my profile too. 'Cause I looked every for it in my CP and couldn't find it. Thanks :)

Okay, first time poster in this thread. I have a question;

For some reason, some of the reps of gotten from people have ''disappeared''. I can no longer see them when I go to my User CP. And what does it mean if I have a blue box besides a rep. (Again in my User CP, The boxes next to the reps re all green, except one...I'm just curious.)

after you get more reputation old reputation just moves off the lost the blue/grey boxes is reputation from new members who havnt had many posts or who havnt got much reputation and their reputation dosnt make any difference to yours,,,,, did that make sence? :lol:

Quicky question: when we come across spam post (you know the ones that are trying to sell Nokias or porn) is it enough to just press the bad post report thingy or is it better to send a PM to a mod to point it out?

I just wanted to say that FB is been loading really slow in the last couple of days. i thought my internet was being silly, but it actually works fine on other sites & i heard of other members having the same problem.
any idea of what it could be/can you fix that?

There's been a lot of "new" members spamming lately with ads and stuff for diet pills, sexual stuff, etc. Is there anyway this can be stopped?

Unfortunately, there's really no way for us to stop the spamming members. They're usually different people making accounts, and they only post once or twice. So there's no sense in us blocking the IP, because it's not the same person coming back, and banning the accounts does no use, because they don't use them again. We're just trying our best to keep the spam levels down, and hopefully it'll all blow over. :)

Hi:) I was thinking about the 24 board and how its quiet (sp?). Its a massive show and it should be buzzing maybe if it had a header like OC and Supernatural and a site too it would be quite big. Ive looked and there is very little quality 24 fansites and forums i think it could be great, if you need any help with it i'd be more than happy to help!!! I really want to see the 24 board revived and with at least 3 seasons left i think it would be a good investment :)

As far as my power goes, there's not much I can do. The only thing I can think is for me to post a thread in there. The whole rep system was made for people to show an opinion about posts, but now people are being immature like this and using them to show dislike for people.

If people can't take things like this seriously, we will have to have Emma take them away.

ETA: Shawna is right. What's happening is I'm getting half the story. If I have both, I can make something work. But with one, we have one side that looks guilty and is really innocent.

I was wondering why do we have the rep thing for?

There has been a huge dispute in the OC Boards. It's all against R/M and R/T.

We can't even have a freedom of speech there. I keep getting PMs and bad reps.. and I'm really getting tired of it. I just one right now.. one with a sarcastic remark.

I didn't even do anything to alot of them.. they are giving me bad reps.. I repayed them because I'm tired of getting them.

I gave one person one for saying rude things before.. and now they are all doing that to us.

I was wondering if something can be done about this?
Please because it keeps happening and it won't stop!!!!!

Are you really willing to fight? You began giving me bad rep for something that was not rude to anyone. I just said to the person to not post anti-TR comments in the TR thread, something that happens all the time in the Rager thread, for example. You give bad rep to people all the time in other threads that are not Maryan's, as I've been told, and as you wrote me when I asked why you had bad repped me, you said "I didn't mean to be rude. It's just one bad rep hun. Lord.. don't let it get to you like that." I never got bad repped before your wonderful bad rep, I never gave bad reps either, except to spams, so I'm not the problem.
I have all the messages. So I don't see what's the deal. You started this. People are just disgusted by it.

In the signature when you have a row of icons, how do you get the small amount of space between them? When i tried to put a row of icons, they are all scrunched together. I'm not good at the whole computer thing. Help would be appreciated.

When you enter the links, you simply put a space between them. EX:

What Chris said is absolutely right, and when you want to view whether or not they've been read, it's listed at right at the top of your Inbox, where you would use the drop-down menu to select a folder to switch to. When you click that box, it gives them a box saying "OC-Lover has requested a return receipt" and they can hit OK or Cancel. There's a bit of a glitch with that, however, because if they hit Cancel, it'll show you that they never read the PM, when they did.

Mine is working fine, double-check to see if you've both accidentally clicked it shut. All the way to the left is a little dotted arrow. It should look like this:

Tee, just put the person who have you a rep that you don't want to see under ignore. You can't read them if that person is on ignore. Personally, I think the rep system needs to go but that's just my opinion. :)

Ok, my number of posts keep droping every time I come here! But I just keep posting! Last week, I had over 2000 posts, and now I'm down at 1950 again...it's been droping like this for a few days now, and I want to know why! I know that sometimes it does this when someone is deleting a thread, but not that many thread are being deleted...right?

Once I had posted in an ot section so much that i never realized & the brd had no mod so the poststayed for mnths and then it was cleaned and I lost 3000 posts :eek: and Im not jokin ,I about died

We typically NEVER delete threads, unless they're spam/advertisement threads. Now, there are many types of threads on Fanbolt that are moved to OT Storage, where posts don't count. This includes game threads, the majority of the threads in Tabloids, and anykind of other chat/OT thread.

It may be that one of our staff has cleaned out a forum with older threads that you haven't posted in in a long time, and that's why it's only been happening recently. But I'm sure if you look, some of your posts have been archived to OT Storage. ;)

ETA: I took my sweet old time with my post, so Shawna posted while I was doing that. But I'll leave it, as it's got some details different from her explanation. :lol:

I just wanted to ask a couple of things:

1)
In the rules it says that sigs can't be any bigger than 3 inches in height... has this rule been relaxed a little bit?
as I noticed that alot of people have HUGE sigs here, which I love :bgrin: but just want to be clear on the rules as I don't want to get told off or anything if I have a larger sig or add some icons underneath.... :embarass:
obviously I won't go crazy with it but was just wondering.. :)

Also it says in the rules that you are only permitted one account per member, but my sister is thinking about joining and as we share a computer 2 accounts will be linked to us so is there anyone I need to message and alert before she joins? so that it's made aware they're not both just me

The answer to your first question is that its not allowed. We PM members with huge sigs to edit them and if they fail to comply their sig is suspended. Although this is difficult to police as sigs look different sizes on different computers.

For your second question i dont think there will be aproblem but it may be best to PM either Chloe or Emma :)

I learnt that recently when I changed monitors.. it was quite a shock how large everything looked on my new monitor.

I have no idea, but if the person who reps you have alot of reputation themselves then you will gain more reputation than you would if they didn't have much at all :)

thats how you put links in .so you wonna copy someone link and put it in your siggy and it will highlight black ,so you can make the link say whatever you want OK:)

Do you mean link it? you just cut the url from the thread ytou are in and in the thread you open Paste that url and that links them up.If you hit the globe thingy ,it inserts it very nice

Paid members are members of Fanbolt who pay a small fee to get more little bits, like bigger avatars, access to exclusive forums, access to exclusive contests, that kind of thing. :) It's not the same as a staff member.

Not at all........im srry i meant the thread is OT ,like if the btrd has an OT section,we move the threads there but alot of my brds (Buffy ,smallville ,angel) dont so ,u can main forum them ,but when they get cleaned , they get moved into OT so the post dont count ....is that explaination sounding better emmie ,i shoulda been clearer..........just maybe if we get a bajillion of them threads ,you guys can ask for a specific brd for them :shrugs:

That's what everyone's been doing these days. :lol: We were changing them, but unfortunately we were getting too many people, most of them changing them because their last obsession was over, and they had a new one, or the show it was for got cancelled (A LOT of OC changes..) and they wanted something up to date. It gets really hard on the staff, as only Heather and I can do the username changes, and I usually handle them all, as Heather has much more important things to do. ;)

Marissa, i checked the admin panel, you're signed up for Subscribe with no notification, so you shouldn't be getting emails. Give it another day or so, it's probably something from the old server and the move hasn't fully propagated here yet, so if you're still getting them on monday, post here again.

Yep. There's still a problem. It keeps on saying Invalid file when I saved it as a .gif filename.

hm. Maybe it's to do with the propagation again, lets give this to Monday, if you're still having problems then let me know, because everything should be fully set to this server by then. The only thing I can think of is maybe it's trying to do something with them with the old server, because everything from the admin end looks fine for this.

The email thing I have absolutely no clue about. Those of you that are having problems are people that were subscribed to something and then unsubscribed before the move and now you're getting emails again, is that correct? I just need to know exactly what is acting up for you guys. If you were never subscribed or what. I'm still receiving emails at the old server, which means some of the email stuff on the old server is still kickin even though it shouldn't be, I'm trashing the old server all together the end of this week, so the problems should definitely be altered by that. haha :) But just explain to me in detail what is up.

Also, the av thing I am honestly completely clueless to, but I'm going to investigate it now. Can you please copy the exact error message it gives you, and also post the type of file and file size you were doing this with.
