View Full Version : America Will NOT Be The Same
Democrats owning the house cannot help but only hurt America. Tonight is a sad day for TRUE Traditionalist Americans. Anyone who believes otherwise has drank too much of the Kool-Aid.
P.S. - I better not see any bashing or negative comments towards the loss of the house to the Democrats.

I guess that only goes one way then?

About my comment, what I meant is, I'm SURE there will be those who will make many comments regarding the democrats taking the house.
Unless you're a true Traditionalist American, which I know you're not (since you're not from America) it doesn't include you.

I'm quite confused about what your point is, but it rather feels like your saying that my opinion is not relevant since I'm not from the US. Which could hardly be true since you seem to think that the US will be the predominant superpower for the decades (nay millenia) to come, so it rather does affect me.
Personally I believe that the Democrats taking the House is a good thing. Apparently the majority of the US did not agree with how it was run by the Republicans and I'm glad to see that they excersized their rights to voice this discontent. I'd like to know, though, in what sense you believe this will hurt America. And what is considered to be a Traditionalist American?

Bashing, fair enough but not a negative comment? What about if I said the Republicans "got served" and are the "losers" in this race huh?!
Finally Democrats can have bragging rights!
I am perfectly sane and I can say that I haven't drank too much Kool Aid
I stayed up all night watchin this election on CNN, CBS, CNBC, C-Span (online) and this has never been such a tight mid term election but isn't this just a great day....DEMOCRATS ARE KINGS (AND QUEENS) of the HOUSE!
I just can't wait to see Hannity's, Limabaugh, Dave Macnamara, Anne Colter and crew and of course our leader Bush on what thier reactions will be...I bet you my life savings that Hannity is YES gonna do a whole other spin on this and not admit that Republicans are a complete failure and finds a way to blame Democrats. Why can't this guy for sake of himself just admit that we done good cos he's gonna look like a fool if he doesn't!
The Neo cons thought they were so god damn confident that they were take the majority for the 2nd straight win in a row under the reign of the Bush Adminstration but they didn't.
Thank You for everyone who voted Democrats and Independent....the official celebration song should be Back in Black by AC/DC! Lol.
How is this gonna hurt America? It's gonna hurt the right wing american's who wanted Republicans to win..as matter of fact this is pleasurable experience than hurt for America cos we can finally have a say on things that we opposed for 6 god damn years!
America can finally be "America" again.
you know, you have your own little definiton of traditionalist. Apparently republican conservatism represents this perfectly, stands for all that is moral, right and true. I am not even sure whether being an American traditionalist sounds like such a good thing to me.
Oh well, all democrats are unpatriotic, communist, immoral liars who don't care for your national safety and want to make Saddam president in two years.
Please, don't take this as bashing. But I hardly ever have seen such an unobjective post here.

Well, you summed me up pretty well...
I personally think it's great that Democrats have taken the majority...I think it will help us in the long run...at least to me...I haven't liked the way my country's been ran since Bush came into presidency....and I know, that was when I was ten...so I'll change that: I haven't like the way my country's been ran since I was old enough to learn and understand what's been happening.

I couldn't agree more.
Obviously, things haven't been going well for America with the Republicans in power, hopefully with the Democrat majority in the House the country can take a step in a positive direction.

:sigh:
Damn this sucks, and really i disagree with people saying this will help America (even though i love some of the people who said that) because they said on the news that 60% of all corruption comes from the democrats. This is really not helping us.
Plus when Clinton was in his 6th year of presidency, republicans dominated the votes. Its one of thoes you can never please anyone things. People say "I hate Clinton, I want Republicans" then a few years later, "Well, i disagree with Bush, so I want democrats" then in a few years they'll say "I'm sick of these democrats, I want Republicans."
if only it were possible to please everyone...

I agree. American will NOT be the same, thank God. :)
America has spoken, and I was lucky enough to get to vote in a battle state. Claire McCaskill !
I hope that the President is not to proud to take this as America sending him a wake-up call.
Now I just hope the Dems do what they said they will.
I think it was a TRULY happy day for America, because we're a democracy. If it was a fair election, and I believe it was, then the American system worked correctly. The people, AMERICANS, were served.

Who's psyched about Rumsfeld resigning?
This is so great about the Dems taking the house! In my state, we got a new Democratic Senator, except the incumbent was also Democratic, so I wouldn't call it a gain or a loss. Our governor got reelected - :( but it's not too bad. He's one of the better Republicans, I think. I definitely have some Republican/conservative views, but I consider myself a moderate Democrat. Our new House representative is a Republican, but the old seat was a Republican seat...

Did any interesting ballot measures pass in your states, guys?
Here in Missouri we raised the minimum wage and passed a stem cell initiative. It's a good day to be a Missourian, for once!

^You passed a stem cell law? :D
We had an amendment to our constitution passed about using taxes from new and used car sales to go toward highway projects. :shrugs: I'm on the fence about it.
In Arizona, they didn't pass a ballot measure saying that at each general election, one lucky voter would win a million dollars. How lame is that? They have to have an incentive to get people out to vote?
My lovely next-door-neighbor Wisconsin passed a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. :( Yet another reason to dislike Wisconsin.

I'm sad to live in Illinois, we reelected the #1 most-likely to be corrupted governor in America, also he took money from suburan school districs (so yes, we cut our music and some sports) and gave it to the city becuase the city is more highly populated leading to more votes.
however

Well I guess Michael had to choose somebody to support, and he prob. chose the candidate that supported more of his views.

Isn't that what everyone does? Everyone votes for the candidate that they share the most views with. No one goes, "Hmmm... I like his views the best, but I'll vote for the other guy anyways." ;)
I'm slightly confused. I've been watching some of the coverage in Canada and I'm getting the impression that Bush felt hoodwinked by this loss. Is this true? Because, it's kind of weird to not even sense a loss coming up when no one else seemed all that surprised by it.

Michael J's campign advert he did on stem cell was powerful, Limbaugh...of all peoples made a mockery of his illness and said he was faking it, how sick can Limbaugh get, I would like to see him in his shoes and see if someone made a mockery of him.

^ Michael J. Fox certainly isn't faking his parkinsons. (You can tell from his difficult in suppressing it in some of his more current acting works.) However, I do understand if he chose to show his condition during the commercial. The whole point of his appearance is to demonstrate the effect of Parkinson's on the human body, while supporting stem cell research. If you don't see it on camera, people won't know how severely the condition can inhibit everyday activity.

Michael J. Fox did a commercial for Claire McCaskill too. I'm pretty sure he did a fill in the blank name commercial, but it was still a powerful message, in my opinion.
Pat Buchanan makes me sick. :pissed:
• ensure Missouri patients have access to any therapies and cures, and allow Missouri researchers to conduct any research, permitted under federal law;
• ban human cloning or attempted cloning;
• require expert medical and public oversight and annual reports on the nature and purpose of
stem cell research;
• impose criminal and civil penalties for any violations; and
• prohibit state or local governments from preventing or discouraging lawful stem cell
research, therapies and cures

i hate elections because both sides completely make crap up for commertials "Yeah, so what if I tried to raise taxes? You... shot a man...... in Reno...... just to watch him die!"

I can agree with you on that. I don't hate elections, but I don't like the commercials. It infests the TV like a disease and they're usually so stupid. I saw a few for this election online and "Wowwww!" Some of the claims made are very bold and seems wholly unwarranted.

The commericals get so annoying, I agree. They show them like three in a row, and you're going 'stop the insanity! I'm pretty sure that Michele Bachmann isn't for meth labs near children, so stop saying it!'
And I have an intense hatred for Michele Bachmann, but both sides make up stuff to say about the other size. 'Michele Bachmann is for meth labs near children and Patty Wetterling wants to tax the dead!'

I'd really like to know what newscaster said it and where he got his statistics from.
That statistics are clearly made by people who can take advantage of stats like that. I mean, almost everything on media is biased, I am not even denying that, but especially exclamations like that should be regarded very skeptically.

It kills me when news shows are biased to the right or to the left, or when they add their little commentaries in. You're a reporter, keep your opinions to yourself and report the news!
