View Full Version : ‘Heroes’ star Milo Ventimiglia moves from superhero to superstardom

He’s done it for fun before. Of course, the audience was his mother, and he was only a tyke.

Now as unassuming nurse-turned-bewildered hero Peter Petrelli on the NBC hit, he’s getting paid to do the same thing for a living, sans cape.

But if “Heroes” eventually requires him to don a Spandex costume for his role, would he do it?

“I have a lot of faith in (creator) Tim (Kring),” says the 29-year-old Ventimiglia, stopping short of encouraging the idea. “... but I think it’d be pretty cool.”

After more than a decade on television, where he’s had high-profile roles on WB’s “Gilmore Girls” and NBC’s “American Dreams,” Ventimiglia knows better than to second-guess Hollywood.

With “Heroes” – a sci-fi mystery about seemingly unconnected strangers around the world who develop superpowers – Ventimiglia has come upon the breakthrough he’d been hoping for.
