OMG! Best Brothers & Sisters News Ever!

Sitting down? Are you? 'Cause I've got the best news ever. Seriously. You're gonna die. Or at the very least piddle yourself.

The role of Rebecca has been cast on Brothers & Sisters, and you're not going to believe who got it: Emily VanCamp! OMG!

This hasn't been officially confirmed by ABC or Touchstone, but it's true — trust me. Emily starts work on Friday.

Not exactly sure how our beloved Everwood grad went from being in the running to out of the running to landing the actual gig, but, well, who the frak cares!?! She got the part! We did it! (And by "we," I mean me and Greg Berlanti.)

I'll have much, much more on this developing story in the coming days, weeks and months. Heck, I may even do an AA spin-off entitled "Ask Ausiello About Emily VanCamp's Brothers & Sisters Gig." I'd certainly read that column.

What do you guys think? Or are you too busy hyperventilating?

lol, yeah I was and still am hyperventilating. I have already heard about her joining B&S from the Everwood forum. It's practically posted everywhere. That is awesome. She is a great actress and that is a wonderful show, so it all works out. I love it.

I'm loving this too :) After Ausiello broke the news I've seen it everywhere. So many people are excited to see Emily in a new TV show. Oh and the fact that she will be a series regular makes me so excited! :D

Since all the episodes of B&S are available for free viewing on abc.com to US residents I went ahead and started watching them yesterday. I want to be "in the know" once Emily's character is on the show. (which should be in February just in time for sweeps!) I have to say it's a pretty good! 13 episodes have aired so far and over the course of only two days I've seen 8 :lol:

Emily will be a very interesting addition to the cast as Rebecca, if you're a fan of B&S you know what I'm talking about. :D

I can't wait :)

I am super happy she is back on Tv and on such a great show with amazing actors. When I first heard her name for this part I was like OMG she would be perfect.

I didn't expect that she would actually get the part since I heard she wasn't a frontrunner anymore but then as Emily stated in her most recent interview with TV Guide, everything came together last minute :D

Oh cool, Jacqui! It's a good show and somewhat similar to Everwood so I think you would like it :D It reminds me of Everwood. Greg Berlanti IS an executive producer and Blake Neely, who was the music composer on Everwood, is also the one for B&S so the soundtrack for the show is quite lovely :)

She'll be appearing at the end of episode 15 for your future reference :)

Wow, was she incredible on Sunday night, yo. Omg, but yeah, lol. There was like 10 minutes until the episode was finished and I was like so unhappy because I saw her name at the beginning on the screen and I was like "WTF?? Where is she??" and then I heard a knowck on the door, and I began like screaming, lol. and then I stood up and I was like "oh my God, it's Amy..." and I started crying lol. It was great. They're isn't B&S this weekend because of the Oscars, but next week will be an episode all about her. It will be titled "The Other Walker". So it is going to be amazing. YAYAYAY!! Go, Emily!!

Thanks for your kind words :) And it goes both ways - if you watch it on TV you only see it once until they air that episode again, or you download it and can watch it as many times as you want but there are a lot of blank spaces to fill. I feel fortunate to be able to do both but some of you guys are not so lucky :(

I watch B&S only for Emily too, she's a great actress and I very very very liked her in the BEAUTIFUL Everwood... But I think that the B&S's trama is lovely! B&S started here in Italy same months ago and I loved it since the beginning..

I started watching for Emily too. The news about her getting cast as Rebecca came out in January, and B&S was on hiatus then so I got all caught up with it just in time to see her first appearance on screen :)

The fact that Emily is apart of such a wonderful and dynamic cast is amazing. She must feel so blessed to have an opportunity to work with such great actors :) B&S is one of my favorite shows, and if it weren't for Emily joining the cast I probably would've never tuned in and would be missing out on a lot!

OT: Thank you for the information :) I've had the magazine in my possession for some time now, but have not gotten a chance to scan it for the site yet. Hopefully I'll get it up soon.
