Just wanted to let you guys know that ABC Family has put up a webpage for Everwood!!!! Its a beautiful site and has a bunch of cool extras: everyone should go check it out!!!
http://abcfamily.go.com/everwood/index.html
*****************************************
The tvshow Treat Williams signed in you were talking about is called Heartland, and if you all can believe at what I'm about to say, it has a plot pretty much similar on Everwood's. Click here and look for yourselves http://www.tvfodder.com/archives/2006/08/treat_williams.shtml

From Ask Ausiello today:
Question: Did you see the ratings for Runaway? Oh my god, Dawn Ostroff and the CW so wish they had renewed Everwood instead of this soon-to-be-axed show.— Isabelle
Ausiello: You said it, not me.
*****************************************
Mediaweek
This is all I have to say...
"Also premiering at 9 p.m. was CW drama Runaway, which limped out of the gate with a mere (and, of course, last-place) 1.8/ 3 in the overnights, 2.35 million viewers and a 0.7/ 2 among adults 18-49. Comparably, that declined from lead-in 7th Heaven by a considerable 51 percent in the overnights (3.7/ 6 to 1.8/ 3), 2.01 million viewers (4.36 to 2.35) and 56 percent among adults 18-49 (1.6/ 4 to 0.7/ 2). Would the CW have been better off leaving Everwood in the time period? (www.pifeedback.com)."

Ausiello Report
Exclusive! Everwood Reunion on Brothers & Sisters!
New Brothers & Sisters show-runner Greg Berlanti is already making good on his pledge to lure some of his Everwood faves to his new gig. An ABC source confirms that Treat Williams will play a love interest to Sally Field's recently-widowed matriarch in late October. As of now, Williams is booked for one episode, but I'm told his stay could be extended.

Emily VanCamp's Very Special SVU!
By Kristin Veitch
Everwood fans, get excited!
Inside sources have just confirmed that Emily VanCamp (better known as Miss Amy Abbott) has booked a guest spot on Law & Order: SVU. Is it wrong that this makes me giddy? I’m told she’s filming episode 15, titled "Dependent," this week, playing a character named Charlotte. It’s scheduled to air in late February, but that date could change.
I’m just hoping the Brothers & Sisters producers (who have admitted they've considered Emily for a role) tune in to witness the sheer brilliance that is Amy Abb...er, Emily VanCamp!

as far as i can tell, i am one of the few-if not the only "shark" fan on this board, but if there are any more out there, please PM me! at any rate, it is uncanny-though not quite a substitute, of course- the pseudo-similarities are between "shark" and "everwood". at the end of last week's episode, prosecutor and single father sebastian "shark" stark's daughter julie got busted for underage drinking-and DUI, to boot!

I think it might have started in the episode where they went to the cabin (episode 7?) and that's when they found the baby picture of Rebecca. Then maybe episode 8 or 9 that Sarah told Kevin and Tommy? I think it was when they were in the desert...
Although the show as a whole is really good, so if you have the time, definitely watch from the beginning! :)

Oh I wrote it down  I made sure I knew when the first mention of her was because by then I knew that Emily had gotten the role and after that, I watched all the episodes online.
Azuline, you are absolutely right it was episode 7, which was "Northern Exposure". Sarah and Joe were in the attic (I think) over at the ranch and she found the picture. It was around 23 minutes into the episode (lol) The picture was cute. :)
Yeah and then the next episode was a two-parter, "Mistakes Were Made". I forgot if it was episode 8 or 9 but one of those is when Sarah told them, yup! The three of them drove out to see the plot of land their late father owned and found if they sold it back to the Army (or something similar) they would get $30 million. *nods* But then they had a problem there with Holly, then they worked it out
OH and also Sarah confronted Holly about it because using Rebecca's initials unlocked the account, which she had been trying to open for months. I think that was in episode 8 or 9 as well but I'm not sure.
I would recommend watching the series from the start too :) It's not Everwood, but I agree with Azuline it's really good. :D

Hi all! :)
I barely post here anymore but I still visit the EW Pinecone thread regularly.
I'm really happy for Emily and her projects. She's amazing and so talented.
I was amazed by her performance on L&O:SVU. She has nailed her role perfectly. Kudos to her.
I can't wait to see her on "Broters & Sisters". I'm glad to read so many good things about her on the show around the web.
I just found this news I thought you'd like to know:

hey fracla!
today is a very momentous anniversary for us everwood fans! it was four years ago today that "the unveiling" first aired. i have a few questions and a comment for possible discussion and a julia-andy song.
question #1: when nina helped delia pick out an outfit for the service, did andy give her cash or meekly hand over another credit card as he did with ephram? don't you just know nina picked out a little something for herself?! meow!
question #2: when we would see the flashback scenes, did it ever seem to you that she was (on some level) playing her husband and her son against each other?
question #3: did ephram seem all that upset about his mother's infidelity to his father or was he most angry that she did not confide her cheating to him (ephram)?
comment: tomorrow night is oscar night and i am almost as upset about michael sheen not being nominated for best supporting actor for his role as tony blair as i am about treat williams (as well as the rest of the cast of the series) never being nominated for an emmy. while the writing in the first two seasns was almost always exquisite, treat's body language was nothing short of astounding! my favorites were when he not only hugged and consoled ephram in "deer god", but rocked his fifteen-year-old baby in his arms, andy's glare when grandma hoffan rebuked ephram for smarting off to andy, admonishing ephram to be more respectful to his dad in "turf wars", and from that same episode, andy's look of absolute devastation when ephram said he wanted to move back to new york and live with his grandparents. however, when andy became so enraged at ephram's allegation of cheating, you could see the veins in his neck throb and his look of unresolved hurt, bewilderment, and anger as he told of julia meeting someone new was the best!
here's the song:
GARY PUCKETT AND THE UNION GAP lyrics - "Woman Woman"
www.OldieLyrics.com
Woman oh woman
Have you got cheating on your mind, on your mind
Something's wrong between us
That your laugher cannot hide
And you're afraid to let your eyes meet mine
And lately when I love you, I know you're not satisfied
Woman oh woman
Have you got cheating on your mind, on your mind
I've seen the way men look at you
When they think I don't see
And it hurts to have them think that you're that kind
But it's knowing that you're looking back
That's really killing me
Woman oh woman
Have you got cheating on your mind, on your mind
A woman wears a certain look
When she is on the move
And a man can always tell what's on her mind
I hate to have to say it
But that look's all over you
Woman oh woman
Have you got cheating on your mind
Oh woman oh woman
Have you got cheating on your mind...

question #1: when nina helped delia pick out an outfit for the service, did andy give her cash or meekly hand over another credit card as he did with ephram? don't you just know nina picked out a little something for herself?! meow!
no, because she is such a good person, and when someone trusts you so much, you don't take advantage of it yada yada yada... read: she's an idiot. ;) ;)
question #2: when we would see the flashback scenes, did it ever seem to you that she was (on some level) playing her husband and her son against each other?
Well, she was calming Ephram down. Remember he was just full of hate for his dad (e.g. when Andy broke his promise to go shopping for the recital), and Julia stepped in and found a funny way ("buy the most expensive suit and charge it to your dad's credit card") for "revenge". On the other hand, you might be right, because it was also her fault that Andy wasn't there on this particular day. But what else should she have done? Tell Ephram? Come on...
question #3: did ephram seem all that upset about his mother's infidelity to his father or was he most angry that she did not confide her cheating to him (ephram)?
neither of those reasons... but he idolized her, and had a clear image in his head. In a nutshell: mom good, dad evil. When Andy tells him about that affair, Ephram doesn't know how to process this information, and becomes defensive and angry.

Hey CM, do you think there could be a thread started for Rina's new pilot? Or is that too soon? Cause, aside from the sides being wicked awesome, the recent cast additions are making the mouths drool: Mary Steenburgen, Alyssa Milano, and James Brolin. All three are pretty big names, with the first and last being critical/awards darlings. Just wondering. :)
Trying to think of something to talk about...thinks...thinks...Hmm...did we ever decide which was the worst season 3 episode? ;) I know some of you were hating on The Birds and The Batteries, but I could never hate it...it spawned the "whoosiewhatsie" and that in and of itself is too good to demean. :D

I liked every season of Everwood. In season 3 we got finally to see Amy and Ephram as a couple, in some episodes they brought in interesting stuff like when Delia found out the foot messager, or for instance the medical cases were really well written and engaging. I didn't want to judge Andy for what many guys called an affair he dived in with Amanda, I quite enjoyed Andy being in a relationship, although I can see he knew that deep down, he would've ended up alone, again. The episodes after Madison's baby cliffhanger were one more outstanding then the other.

Hey-Tom Amandes is in a new play>>>
"Everwood" Doc to Star in Victory Gardens Premiere Cynical Weathers
By Kenneth Jones
16 Mar 2007
Chicago actor Tom Amandes, a veteran of the city's Off-Loop stage scene who is widely known for playing salty Dr. Harold Abbott on the TV series "Everwood," will return to the Windy City to star in Cynical Weathers, a new political drama by Douglas Post, at Victory Gardens Theater.
The world premiere run begins April 6 (opening April 16) at VGT's new home at the Biograph Theater.
Under the direction of VGT artistic director Dennis Zacek, Amandes will originate the role of Congressman Dixon McDaniels, "a moderate Texas Republican caught in the crossfire between his liberal wife Cat, who is an atmospheric scientist studying global warming, and his conservative chief of staff, an evangelical and believer in the end times."
According to production notes, "Over the course of a weekend, the congressman and his wife grapple with deep-seated ideological differences brought to head by an energy bill he is attempting to push through Congress. Meanwhile, a category five hurricane is looming off the Gulf Coast, threatening to wreak havoc on the McDaniels' beachfront estate, the surrounding terrain, and the congressman's shifting political agenda."
Cynical Weathers also features Bethanny Alexander (as Cat McDaniels), Tony Castillo (as Manny Hernandez), Ben Brooks Cohen (as Lee Gelman), and Lindsay Gould (as Andrea Brady).
Designers are Samuel Ball (set), Judith Lundberg (costumes), Patrick Chan (lights) and Andre Pluess (sound). Production stage manager is Tina Jach.
After growing up in Richmond and Crystal Lake, as the sixth of 11 children, Tom Amandes graduated from the Goodman School of Drama, now The Theater School, at DePaul University. He began his acting career as an ensemble member of the Body Politic Theater, performing in such productions as Translations (his 1982 debut), The Playboy of the Western World and Falstaff and Hal. Other notable Chicago theatre includes Candida, What the Butler Saw, The Mystery Cycle at Court, Free Advice from Prague and The Courtship of Carl Sandburg at Northlight, and Working Magic at Victory Gardens. His best-known television roles include Eliot Ness in "The Untouchables," astronaut Jack Schmitt in "From the Earth to the Moon" and salty Dr. Harold Abbott in "Everwood." He has three children and is married to actress Nancy Everhard, who he met when she was cast as his wife Katherine Ness on "The Untouchables." She played Sharon Hart on "Everwood." They reside in Park City, UT.
Douglas Post's plays include Blissfield, Somebody Foreign, Forty-Two Stories, Drowning Sorrows, Personal Effects, Earth and Sky, Suffering Fools and Murder in Green Meadows as well as the musicals God and Country, The Real Life Story of Johnny De Facto and The Wind in the Willows.
Performances of Cynical Weathers will continue to May 13.
The new Victory Gardens Theater at the Biograph is located at 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue, a half-block north of Fullerton in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood.
For tickets and information, call the Victory Gardens box office, (773) 871-3000, or visit www.victorygardens.org.

SECRET 'SISTER'
'EVERWOOD' HOTTIE DECAMPS TO ABC FAMILY DRAMA
By ROBERT RORKE
March 18, 2007 -- Emily VanCamp is finding that it's a long way to Los Angeles from the fictional mountain hamlet of Everwood, Colo.
On ABC's family drama, "Brothers & Sisters," VanCamp, 20, has joined the cast as Rebecca Harper, the illegitimate and, until now, secret daughter of the recently deceased family patriarch, William Walker (Tom Skerritt).
Unlike Amy Abbott, the character VanCamp played on the WB's "Everwood," Rebecca is an angry young woman who speaks her mind, usually through sarcastic barbs hurled at her mother, Holly (Patricia Wettig). Holly had a two-decades-long affair with William Walker about which the tight-knit Walker clan has only just learned.
"I'm having such a hard time relating to this character," says VanCamp. "Playing her has really pushed me. I don't have a chip on my shoulder like she does. I think she's a really sad girl inside, but she coats it with confidence and sexuality."
As Amy, VanCamp played a sweet and popular high-school school student, encountering love for the first time and navigating her way out of her small hometown and into the world. "Amy was a part of my heart," says the native of Port Perry, Ontario, Canada. "I loved her and I really brought a lot of myself to that character."
VanCamp was called to duty on "Brothers & Sisters" by Greg Berlanti, the creator and executive producer of "Everwood," and also co-executive producer of "Dawson's Creek." "Everwood" was cancelled when The WB merged with UPN to become The CW. Berlanti found himself briefly unemployed; he was brought on to "Brothers & Sisters" to give the politically-minded show a more dynamic direction. As a result, "Brothers & Sisters," created and executive producer by New York playwright Jon Robin Baitz, is more of a compelling family drama than when it started.
In the show, Rebecca has just learned that she's the half-sister of the close but constantly quibbling Walker clan, and she's not taking well to the information.
"I know why she's doing what she's doing, but I completely disagree with a lot of it. She's really forward and she's really insensitive in a lot of ways, but with good reason. In upcoming episodes, she makes a lot of bad choices and she does things that I, as Emily, would never do, but I completely see where she's coming from. She's a lost soul," says VanCamp.
The tall and willowy VanCamp started acting when she as 13, after spending years as a ballet dancer. She visited her sister, Katie, on the set of a movie and immediately fell in love with the world of film. It didn't take long for the pretty blonde to win herself local roles in Québec, Montreal, where she moved at 12 to attend L'Ecole Supérieure de Danse de Québec .
At just 16, she won a role in The WB's short-lived "Glory Days" in 2002, which was seen by Berlanti and "Everwood'"s co-creator Mickey Liddell. That spring, she was cast in "Everwood," which was shot on location in Salt Lake City, Utah. She got close to the show's cast and dated Chris Pratt, who played her brother, Bright, in the show. Today, she's back in L.A., single and holding her own among one of TV's most talented casts.
"I have no idea how I learned how to do this, but I fell in love with acting right away," she says. "I guess it's just fake it 'til you make it."

I'm a huge fan of Emily and it's not a surprise that Amy was by far my favorite character on Everwood so I have to say I'm delighted that Emily is on Brothers And Sisters. A major network in ABC with a ton of talent surrounding her... Sally Field, does it get any better than that? It's been a joy watching her first 2 episodes on this show and we also find out that the show was officially renewed for next year so that means it's a given we get Emily for the rest of this season and next season as well for sure. She signed a few year contract I believe so IMO as long as the show stays on the air, Emily will be on the air. Outstanding. I love this so much because one of the main reasons I was so upset when Everwood ended was because I was going to miss Emily on the screen. I couldn't be more happy with her new gig now. And the media attention she's been getting has been tremendous, so well deserved because she's such an amazing talent. :)

Treat Williams flying high for new series
By Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith
Article Last Updated: 03/22/2007 06:18:48 PM PDT
Treat Williams begins production of his forthcoming "Heartland" series in Los Angeles Monday, with plans to commute back and forth to the Park City, Utah home he and his family established during his "Everwood" tenure.
"At the end of 'Everwood,' I said to my wife, Pam, 'Well, what now?' And she said, 'I want to stay. I love my friends here, and the kids are happy in school.' Fortunately, we have a beautiful airplane we can travel in, and my airport is easy to get in and out of," says the actor, who has 30 years' experience as a pilot. "I go through a canyon to Vegas, and turn right, and I'm there."
The Williamses also maintain a New York City penthouse and a house in Vermont.
Williams says he took time off after "Everwood" after the show finished shooting last April, "I think we all needed it." But from his list of activities since then, it hardly seems possible he's had much in the way of down time. There's his April 15 Lifetime movie, "The Staircase Murders," a true crime story in which Treat plays the accused killer, a best- selling novelist who leads a double life. There's the arc he put in on "Brothers & Sisters." And there's "Heartland," the TNT series in which he will play a heart surgeon specializing in transplants -- a guy he says has nothing in common with his "Everwood" medico, Andy Brown, "other than the fact they're both doctors. There's nothing soft and fuzzy about this guy or this show."

Exclusive! 7th Heaven Canceled
By Kristin Veitch
Mar 30, 2007 3:37 PM
Folks, I just heard that after an astonishing 11 seasons, the Camdens are leaving us: 7th Heaven has been canceled by the CW.
No official comment yet, but I'm told that the producers, cast and crew were informed by the network today. It's a done deal.
It was 7th Heaven that first introduced us to stars like Jessica Biel and What About Brian's Barry Watson, and the family-friendly show was by far the biggest ratings getter on the late, great WB network.
Reverend Camden, Lucy, our televisions won't the same without you—but Happy the dog, I think I'll miss you most of all!

I'm happy but until I hear from the cast or crew members that the Camden House set is finally torn down and the studio lot is empty again. I won't be completely satisfied. Plus, this "ressurection" was truly for nothing. The show did horrible in ratings, barely any cast members, story lines were the worst ever! Plus, the apparent "fans" of this show continue to hold on thinking it's just a rumor and that another "miracle" will happen. You have to let it go somehow. I'm starting to let go of Everwood, we have Emily on Brothers and Sisters.

Hey fellow Everwood fans -
I've been desperately trying to find out when Greg's film Nearing Grace is coming out on DVD. It didn't play in theaters where I live so I'm eager to see it. Any leads are greatly appreciated!!
I think in all fairness to the boards the OC and Everwood threads will move to the regular OC and Everwood Board Starting in May 2007.
I hope everyone is okay with this. We are just trying to think about this being a spoiler board as you can see I ditched some threads that no one posted on this year.
Once the upfronts pick up pilots and add them to the line up in May I will start a thread for requests of new show spoiler threads.
Fallen_Shadows
04-05-2007, 06:52 PM
That seems fair.
Speaking of May...Warner Bros. is having another online chat, with The Home Theater Forum, on the 7th, I believe. I think we should ask them...in a much more organized and respectable way this time around. Hopefully they'll give us something.

I agree with groveramy. Everwood had a lot of storys to tell and they dumped it for one crappy season of 7th heaven. Did any of the new CW shows that were supposed to be great hits make it??
7th Heaven already had their finale last season. Are they going to have another one??
Readster
04-06-2007, 09:38 AM
Yeah, with the finale they filmed not knowing if they were coming back for a 12th season or not. They actually told people that it doesn't end in a cliffhanger and is a better finale than the origin 6 month planned one. However, no other original cast members will be in it ai: Barry Waton, Jessica Biel or David Galleger.

And while being a Judge, she's still Edna.
Denny Crane, while on the stand, told her he liked her.
Videoeta (www.videoeta.com) is a great website that details DVD release dates. They have just posted a most requested list.
Everwood Season 2 is on this list. Let's try to bump up the number of requests.
http://videoeta.com/most_requested_reminders.html
It's at number 12 with 828 requests.
Per the moderator of the Home Theater Forum----
Warner Brothers has contacted me to ask that there be
only ONE question allowed concerning Everwood
Season Two.
After the one question is asked, no further questions will be
permitted. Anyone that blurts out a question from that point on
will be ignored by the studio and possibly removed from the chat.
I will make many attempts to remind latecomers throughout
the chat.
Understand that Everwood fans ruined last year's chat
for most everyone. While there were many fans who were very
respectful to the studio, there were many more who simply showed
up to blurt out questions -- mostly out of turn.
Understandably, the studio is concerned about this issue repeating
itself now that another chat is scheduled.
Please help us spread the word on other forums that Warner
is trying to be fair here by honoring a single question. However,
anyone who disrupts the forum with further questions from that
point on will be ignored and subjected to removal.
Thank You!

Well, this could be a good thing. It proves that Warner knows there is a demand for season two to be released... I'm hoping we'll get a positive response. I would like to ask only one question and hope they don't hem and haw and talk around the point.
What exactly did the producers of Everwood do to the Warner Brothers execs to deserve being treated the way they were treated following the release of the season 1 DVD's? It's almost like they became a sorry, neglected thorn in their sides. Every area of the show that the studio was responsible for - advertising, promotion, buzz, spin, stories, DVD's, etc. went steadily downhill to its ultimate demise from that moment on.
Hindsight is always 20/20, but I am thrilled that Everwood didn't make it onto the CW.
oh yeah the Cn't Watch is a total mess and i'm glad too. but thinking about it, i'm glad the show didn't come back, i wonder what a 5th season would have brought except more disaproval. just thinking about a potential Ephram/Hannah ship makes my blood go cold yeurk!!!

So, I've just seen pics of Stephanie Niznik on Grey's Anatomy- The Spin Off..., which is absolutley fabulous!! And also this, I nearly jumped out of my skin so much so that my skin was on the ceiling, skeleton on the floor... Can anyone look at this and not say 'Shades of Ephram'??? I knew I loved that TR Knight... :) I still miss Ephram the most... I haven't seen Everwood in ages and last night I watched an episode and the only way I can describe it, I don't know, life has changed so much for me in the past year, it was like looking at remnants of a past life, it was like coming home after being away for a very, very long time. A: The show is done. ABC Family's deal is for the reruns. And you may have noticed that it is not currently on the network's schedule. An ABC Family rep said the reruns are taking a break, but will be back on the schedule in the fall. "

I'm very surprised to see that out. It is not released by Warner Brothers and I doubt they would support it - whoever did it may even be liable to be sued. In any case it certainly looks legit enough...although it could be a fly-by-night bogus company, too. Buyers beware.

Hey Readster
That's great to hear! Where did you read that Everwood be taking 7th heaven spot? I'm guessing Everwood will restart like last year around October 2007 coincide with new seasons of gilmore girls, smallville
Readster
04-29-2007, 08:42 PM
That's what the schedule is at the moment. That might change come September. Remember, Smallville was going left and right and then all of a sudden they just pulled it and put 7th heaven in it's time spot. Then switched it again 6 months later.
choirmom
04-30-2007, 03:09 PM
One thing you all need to remember is that 7th Heaven has 11 years of shows to put in syndication. Everwood has only 4. Everwood has barely 16 weeks of shows to air straight through without repeating any. That's like, four months. Whereas they can take shows like Smallville and 7th Heaven and show several seasons in one year, and play with what they do and don't air based on the ratings for those, because there are SO MANY. Not trying to be a downer or anything, but it makes sense based on the number of episodes they have to work with that Everwood's four seasons would only be shown beginning to end once a year. I don't want Everwood to become as cliche as 7th Heaven has become. A special treat once a year is better than reruns ad nauseum. Just my 2 cents.

Oh and Rina's pilot has also tested exceptionally well. Some of the insiders over at Zap2it are predicting it to make it onto the schedule...we have two weeks to go until that's revealed. The anticipation is killing me! :(

Any Jack and Bobby fans on this board? Its was a series co created by Greg Berlanti/ Vanessa Taylor with Brad Meltzer & Steve Cohen, ran for about a year on The WB in 2004-05. 22 episodes. Story follows the MacCallister family, a hippe single mom named Grace, who is a history professor at a prestigeous College in Hart, Michigan raising two boys: Jack/Bobby one of whom will eventually become president in year 2040. The boy's father is long gone. Its got a dysfunctional family dynamic that mirrors a certain Brown family. The series is told in flashback as a Documentary is being made in the future about the President's life. Each Episode has pieces of interviews with family/aides close to the president talking about how decisions he made in 2040 mirror lessons he learned in his childhood.
I had only heard about the series in passing, but feeling Everwood withdrawls. I took a chance, and purchased it from a great seller on ioffer.com. It cost $25.00 /free shipping/ was done through Pay pal, I recieved 2 disc set it in about week and half. Its was fantastic series!!!! and arrived in perfect 10/10 quality.

I personally disliked the character of "Grace" so much on Jack and Bobby viewing it became painful and I dropped viewing the series after 3 episodes.
So Gilmore Girls comes to an end. (Did Rina Mimoun wreck that one too? I don't watch it.) 7th Heaven comes to an end. I'm still ticked off that Everwood was cancelled, but at least we can all thank our lucky stars that it didn't have to suffer on that loser of a network. How the CW even HOPES to compete with the likes of the big four networks I'll never know. That merger was one of the stupidest moves Warner Brothers ever made.

Been reading about GG cancellation myself. I know alot of everwood fans were also gilmore fans, begruding swallowed their pride to see how GG would turn out this year. The fanbase is going nuts!!!! Canceling the WB two main critical darlings shows...Terrible Move!! Judging by the outrage The CW is going to loss another 4 million viewers. I really hope their able to wrap up the story well. But its also makes me realize how lucking we were with our two part finale Foreverwood. GG is the type show that need a short season to wrap up properly.
Choirmon-
I agree with you, the merger although "it had to be done" was the worst move ever!!! The CW really missed a huge opportunity when they canned Everwood. The reruns on ABC Family created an entirely new fanbase for the show. Remember Gilmore Girls experienced a huge surgein vewers ratings wise during year six alot of that was due to new viewers finding the show on cable. I;m betting Everwood would have experienced the same thing- increase to 4.5-5.0 range. The irony is we would have been one of their number one shows.

I agree with Choirmom- I'd rather have Everwood do a run once year than have it run constantly. Something to look forward to.
I did break down and watch a few episodes of Gilmore girls. The show lost a lot of pizzaz when the creators were not involved. A bad turn when they had LOralai marry Christopher and than one day it was all over. I'm guessing they will end with Loralai and lUkes' wedding.
I read, I believe in tv guide that the CW actually has lower viewers than UPN and WB ever did. I'll have to double check where I read that.
Any more news if Everwood season 2 will ever come out??
Well, not a definite answer, but it's better than the no I was expecting. From the Warner chat held tonight:
<ChrisCook> Thank you for allowing Everwood to be asked tonight. I purchased the first season
of Everwood in 2005 as a blind buy. I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciate the effort that went
into that release. Now, you recently revisited Without a Trace. Both series first season suffered
low sales and both have music rights issues to clear. I don't know how well the second season
of Without a Trace sold.
<RonEpstein> Warner, I guess this is the chance to say everything you have to say about
EVERWOOD and then we'll leave it alone for the rest of the evening
<Warner_Brothers> we know we have alot of interest in Everwood based on the feedback we
continue to receive from the fans. we'd love to release future seasons but the music costs are
prohibitive. we're evaluating if we can make it work with music substitution but at this time we
just don't know.

Oh, I HATE when they replace the music on the dvds. It will be interesting to see how different Everwood seems with different music, if they ever release it. Sometimes the music is such a huge part of the show that changing it just makes it a completely different experience... I know Roswell wasn't the same without the original music, at least for me. I'm surprised they didn't negotiate to include using it on the dvds...most people learned from past mistakes of other shows (Roswell, Felicity, etc) and do that now.

...Hm, I tried to come up with something witty, but here's the CW's NEW slogan: "Dropping like Flies."
I know music can really change a moment, but there are still episodes I have not yet seen! I'd really like this show to fully come out to DVD. But I hate the price we may have to play.

With shows like OTH and OC I think music is purchased with the intent to use it on tv and dvd with other shows I don't believe music was purchased for dvd use so a new deal has to be reached in most cases. When a deal can't be reached shows are forced to use different songs like in the case of shows like Dawson's Creek and Roswell. My assumption is that Everwood already had those deals but they might have expired so new more costly deals may be needed.
I think the real problem is Everwood Season 1 didn't sell so the company sees no reason to release Season 2-4.

Hi, guys I usually lurk in this thread and never post. But since it will be closed I wanted to post just to say thank you everyone for everything you brought here.
I loved Everwood and still can't get over how stupid for the CW to cancell it :(
And probably someone already said that, but I saw at imdb that Sarah Drew was cast to Rina's new show.

Now the fight is for "Jericho" but the article mentions Everwood!
************************************************
From The New York Times
May 21, 2007, 12:03 pm
Misery Chastain Cannot Be Dead!! Or, A Way to Save “Jericho”
Every compelling story produces its own brand of fans, with their own distinct style of story-worship.
But a group of fans really shows its colors when it gets the news that the story it loves is over.
When “Everwood,” the misty teen-flavored television drama about love and loss, was canceled last year, its fans grew tearful and elegiac. When Fox shut down “Arrested Development,” its fancy and clever sitcom, the fans acted tough and above it: I guess real comedy was too cool for network losers.
And now, since “Jericho” was officially dropped from CBS on May 16, its fans are having their nationwide wake. And what a dark, mushroom-cloud-blocks-the-sun event it is.
When I wrote a live blog from the television upfronts last week on the new culture-events blog ArtsBeat, the entry that drew the most comments by far was the CBS wrap-up. Almost all of the commenters on that post, possibly by design, had “Jericho” on their minds. Phrases like “CBS should be ashamed” and “O.K., now I’m really ticked off” were commonplace.
You know, CBS should perhaps just have known better than to convene a group of ardent fans for a nuclear-apocalypse show (note suspiciously locked Wikipedia entry) if they were going to jilt those fans so suddenly. Turns out the “Jericho” audience is a volatile, uneasy lot. (Just Google “save jericho”).
Having started just last fall, and played unsuccessfully against “American Idol,” “Jericho” is an adventure series about a group of tough Kansans trying to survive after nukes have taken out America’s major cities.
Fans of the drama — in which survivalism, vigilantism and a measure of anarchism are not only tolerated but necessary — are, like its characters, a hardcore and flinty bunch. Take one look at their message boards and you’d see they were unlikely to take bad news from jackbooted network thugs lying down.
The male fans resolved: “They nuked Jericho … we’ll nuke them!” And they poached the show’s rough-and-ready characters for their own video spinoff: a hit on CBS’s headquarters.
Female viewers also felt abused. Below, one resolved not to be Tina to CBS’s Ike anymore. Her parting line? “I hope your ratings shrivel up and fall off.”
The phenomenon of fans wreaking havoc on those who abort their favorite stories — think Kathy Bates in “Misery” — is at least as old as the novel. The crowd that allegedly begged Dickens to tell them whether Little Nell had died in “The Old Curiosity Shop” somehow believed he also grieved her death, though he was of course her murderer.
Other readers are less forgiving or naive. In the 19th century, some readers even tried to sue authors who “abused” or “killed” their favorite characters.
So “Jericho” fans: your videos are great, but what about taking CBS to court for murdering the whole town of Jericho, Kan.?

I just wanted to stop in, because I haven't been here in a long time. After a grueling semester of a Television course in which I studied the CW specifically, keeping 7th Heaven was probably by far the worst move that the network made. Two series finales? Really. And their treatment of Veronica Mars wasn't too hot either.
Its great to see this thread stive active :)
EDIT: as it seems this thread is closing soon, I want to also say thanks to CM for making/keeping alive a great environment for discussion.

From Ausiello's email scoop:
Just when I thought I couldn't be more excited about ABC's new fall drama Pushing Daisies, series creator Bryan Fuller goes and hires one of the most talent scribes in the biz — former Everwood exec producer Rina Mimoun. "I could not ask for a better opportunity than working with Bryan," says Mimoun, who landed the gig after ABC passed on her pilot Reinventing the Wheelers. "Pushing Daisies is such a unique and beautiful pilot. I am honored to be a part of it!"

This thread was like a second home to me. I think I wrote more on here than all the other things I have written my entire life. Everwood was, and will always be the best show to ever air on the small screen.
I've recently gotten into Brothers & Sisters, and all I notice when I watch is things that remind me of an Everwood episode. Great show, we should really have a webpage for it.
CHOIRMOM-Your tireless work and effort made this thread into a 24 hour Everwood local paper, you brought the show's Everwood Pinecone into real life. Thank You so much for all your work.

From today's TVGUIDE.com online:
Treat Williams Pits Heartland Doc Against Everwood’s Andy
by Matt Webb Mitovich
Good ol’ Dr. Andy Brown is still putting people back together, only these days Treat Williams is specializing in cutting-edge transplants as Nathaniel Grant on TNT’s brand-new Heartland (Mondays at 10 pm/ET). TVGuide.com invited Williams to preview what’s ahead for his new surgeon, as well as reflect on Everwood’s unfortunate fate.
TVGuide.com: First off, let’s talk to the Everwood fans out there. What will they find familiar about your new doc, and what will they find different?
Treat Williams: Hmm, that’s a good question. Not too much familiar, a lot different. This is the guy that Andy Brown probably was in New York, five years before he came to Everwood — very caught up in a very high-stress environment. Not getting along with his wife, that they would have in common. One child instead of two… but the biggest difference is that Nate is very type A, so all of the warm and fuzzy aspects of Andy are not to be seen.
TVGuide.com: Yes, you have a tricky line to toe here because Nate has some unflattering traits.
Williams: Exactly. Exactly. What’s fun about that is if they hang on with this, we will begin to see the cracks in that very tough exterior that he’s got. And when we see them, we see why he is the way he is. It’s revealed that he has an incredible love of humanity that he just doesn’t wear on his sleeve. [Laughs] Or anywhere else.
TVGuide.com: You’ve got some great chemistry with Invasion’s Kari Matchett. It’s hard not to root for a reunion for these exes.
Williams: I’m rooting for it. I mean, every time we do a scene together, there’s this instantaneous history that these two have.
TVGuide.com: Of course, we have Dabney Coleman as the ailing mentor. His character is in pretty bad shape, but will he be holding on at least a bit longer?
Williams: I can’t stand the guy; I hope they bump him off! No, he’s around the whole season, and I’d like nothing better than to have Dabney have a miraculous recovery, because I don’t think I have enjoyed working with another actor as much as I have with him. He is really an icon, and really delightful.
TVGuide.com: In the first episode, the cast seemed a bit too quaint. Will we be seeing some other faces? Rockmond Dunbar (Prison Break's C-Note) shows up at some point?
Williams: Rockmond comes in [starting this week] and hits the ground running. He’s extraordinary. That becomes a very strong [relationship]. Our characters have very different ways of doing things, and that causes a lot of conflict. A lot of the show is going to be on Rockmond’s shoulders as the season goes on — and deservedly so.
TVGuide.com: And Morena Baccarin’s Jessica? Will she stick around, given what happened between her and Nate last week?
Williams: Jessica's issues become stronger with regard to being the girl that all the doctors want to “see” when they come into the hospital. And Danni [Nicolet’s Mary] becomes more and more important to me as a friend and confidante. “Vancouver” (Chris Martin) is the guy I get to beat up on the entire season; he’s the guy who keeps screwing up and is finding his way.
TVGuide.com: Do you feel pressure to do right by your lead-in, Ms. Sedgwick’s The Closer?
Williams: I don’t feel the pressure. I hope for the sake of my cast mates and I, because we like each other so much, that [success] happens, but television has become such a crapshoot. It’s either going to get the numbers that it needs and holds The Closer’s audience, or we’re all going to be looking for jobs. [Laughs] But there will be no hard feelings. If I were them, I'd be saying the same thing: We love you, but you didn’t get the numbers! I’ve only seen The Closer three or four times, so I don’t know whether the audiences are compatible.
TVGuide.com: I think they’re a good match. We played with some hearts and lungs in the first episode — what other transplants are on the way?
Williams: We have some interesting stuff down the road. We have a group transplant, a “domino” transplant, where a series of organs are transplanted at the same time. But the uterine transplant in Episode 4 is absolutely fascinating. It’s a very difficult transplant because of the amount of small blood vessels and supply to the uterus. But giving someone the ability to give birth is a very strong subject in that show.
TVGuide.com: With your assorted doctor roles, do you almost feel like you could scrub in if you had to?
Williams: Next year I’m graduating from med school. [Laughs] I’m the guy who will raise his hand and say, “I’m not a real doctor, but I play one on TV. I can handle this.” I cheated through biology in school, but now I’m actually learning about it. It’s fun.
TVGuide.com: Your visit to Brothers & Sisters [as a love interest for Sally Field's Nora] — was that something that could have turned out to be more? Or was it always closed-ended?
Williams: No, it could have been more, I suppose. [Everwood creator/B&S executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] said, “We’re just starting, could you come down and do four for me?” [On Everwood] he gave me some of the most beautiful work I’ve ever done, so I got to work with the gifted Sally Field… what a neat cast. Greg is one of the most loyal men I’ve ever worked with. They certainly have enough guy guys on that show, they didn’t need me. But I would have been very happy to [continue on] if Heartland hadn’t happened.
TVGuide.com: It could have been a funny moment if your Brothers & Sisters character had crossed paths with [Everwood alumna] Emily VanCamp’s Rebecca.
Williams: It would have been funny. A little double-take. “Don’t I…? Nah.”
TVGuide.com: Do you keep in touch with any Everwood cast mates?
Williams: I do, I do. I’ve spoken with Greg and I just talked to Chris [Pratt]. Emily, I know how she’s doing, so I don’t have to worry. I had dinner with Tom Amandes Saturday night…. So yeah, we’re all in touch.
TVGuide.com: Do you still mourn the show’s passing? Do you think the network made a mistake not picking it up?
Williams: [Pauses] I don’t think the network made a mistake not picking up what it had become. I don’t think the Everwood I had signed on to do was the Everwood that they were examining [for a pickup]. It had become a different show.
TVGuide.com: How so?
Williams: It became what the mantra of the WB was: “We make television about teenagers and their sex lives.” It was no longer the balanced show about a town and its people anymore — which was fine with me, because I got to see a lot more of my kids! We say that Everwood didn’t get picked up; I’m not sure what it was that wasn’t picked up.
TVGuide.com: Well, you certainly haven’t lacked for work since….
Williams: No, no…. I’m ready for a vacation! [Laughs]

NOTE: Entertainment Weekly gave "HEARTLAND" a whopping grade of "D", I believe. I haven't watched it. No time or interest.

I badly miss EVERWOOD and I was wondering if there is anybody out there who might be able to help this EARLY ONSET PARKINSON'S patient who is bedbound and who has no way to ever see the episodes ever again who might have the show on DVD-R or on a hard drive be able to see the episodes for my own personal use.... I promise that I would compensate you for any materials and time costs that you might incur, if you get my drift ...
