And you're not really skipping if your parents excuse your absence. It only makes you absent, not skipping. I never participated on senior skip day for 2 reasons: 1, my classmates kept the date from me because I can't seem to keep my mouth shut and 2, I had too many absences to possibly use the skip day. I'm actually glad I didn't skip because a couple teachers gave homework/tests to seniors and those who weren't there got a zero for that day.

...she also was reported as a runaway by her mother. You are allowed at least ONE unexcused absence. I had one last year because I was too lazy to give the office my excuse slip and just decided not to. So, it is legal, but if you have multiple unexcused absences, the police will show up on your doorstep and you'll be in a court. Plenty of people skip a class or two without an excuse. I actually knew a couple of them in high school.

See, I probably have another unexcused absense....and I don't think that having a note doesn't make it skipping. Absent is with a legitimate reason. Skipping is, "Mom, I'm not going to school. Write me an excuse?"

My school doesn't get suspicous until you have a bunch of unexcuseds. Our teachers constantly count us unexcused even when they are there.

But at my school, unexcused absences lower our grade a third. So an A goes to an A-. a B goes to be B-, etc. You get the idea!

Regarding 300. I hadn't heard of the movie at all until yesterday, when my friend was all "300!" I was like "What is 300?" Then I had to watch the trailer and listen to him curse out his brother for refusing to take him. :lol: Not my cup of tea, either, but I'll support his efforts to get to the movie. ;)

I practiced driving for two hours today...exhausted of driving now!!! :lol: I drove through the tough streets of Minneapolis, and then tried parking for half-a-hour.

ETA - Argh. This article pisses me off. It's SOOOOOO dumb. I wrote the author it a big long rant. It just made me really mad, basically insinuating that we're dumb because we don't have passports. A lot of the arguments are really weak.

Yesterday all I did was go to IKEA, which I love, everything is just so cheap there. Any I got a new duvet cover and 2 lamps, and I had there $1.99 breakfast. Which I thought was going to be really gross but it wasn't.
