SOAPNET ACQUIRES THE O.C. AND ONE TREE HILL FOR APRIL PREMIERE
SOAPnet has made a deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution to acquire the rights to all four seasons of The O.C. and all four seasons of One Tree Hill, both hit drama series from Warner Bros. Television, Deborah Blackwell, General Manager, SOAPnet, announced today.
"The O.C. and One Tree Hill will resonate with our viewers and live perfectly alongside the top five rated daytime soaps and our other acquired primetime dramas," said Blackwell. "We continue to enjoy partnering with Warner Bros. to bring our viewers the best in primetime soaps."
"We are thrilled to be in business with SOAPnet on both The O.C. and One Tree Hill, two series that have been magnets for the young female demo throughout their four seasons on broadcast television," said Eric Frankel, President, Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution. "These shows are a perfect fit for SOAPnet, and we look forward to their premiere—and ratings success—in April."
"The O.C." and "One Tree Hill" will air Monday-Friday, beginning April 9. The O.C. will air at 6PM, One Tree Hill at 5PM. SOAPnet's number 1 acquired soap with women 18-34, Beverly Hills 90210, will lead into both new series at 3PM and 4PM.

From tvshowsondvd.com:
High school is over. Time to move on. But events conspire to reunite Ryan, Seth and Summer in posh, seaside Newport. And there may even be a new Core Four. Because after Taylor Townsend says a quick if not passionate au revoir to her education in France, she just might pursue Ryan until he catches her.
Time, too, for the series to move on with these 16 Final Episodes. Seth marries Summer? (Maybe.) Ryan goes through life like it's a steel-cage brawl? (Sometimes.) Kaitlin tries to hook up her mom Julie with a billionaire? (Well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.) But the things you perhaps expect will happen are nothing compared to what you could never expect. Time to hit the beach for all the surprising events of a cool, compelling and revealing conclusion of The O.C.!
Warner Bros has announced the fourth, and final, season for The O.C. will be released on May 22 for $59.98. The 5-disc set will include the final 16 episodes:
1. The Avengers
2. The Gringos
3. The Cold Turkey
4. The Metamorphosis
5. The Sleeping Beauty
6. The Summer Bummer
7. The Chrismukk-huh?
8. The Earth Girls Are Easy
9. The My Two Dads
10. The French Connection
11. The Dream Lover
12. The Groundhog Day
13. The Case of the Franks
14. The Shake Up
15. The Night Moves
16. The End's Not Near, It's Here (Series Finale)
Episodes will be presented in Anamorphic Widescreen (1.78:1) with English Dolby Surround audio, and subtitles in English, French and Spanish. Bonus material includes two all-new behind-the-scenes featurettes, a gag reel and deleted scenes. We'll have artwork when it's available.

Does any one else think there will be books published similar to the ones like the Way Back or The Outsider that maybe give a little more detail into the ending and maybe even more closure as to what happened to Ryan besides becoming an architect. Just a thought.

The worst episode is definitely The Safe Harbor. Everyone was so focused on Marissa, and this was the moment that I realized karma was going to hit Marissa, and boy did it ever. Gar, it was just awful.
The Disconnect was the second worst episode ever probably.
We apparantly share the same brain. The Safe Harbor is the worst episode of the series hands down. The Marissa Show at its worst. Even the adult storylines revolved around her. And she didn't even show any gratitude. I wanted to punch her throughout that whole episode. It had some redeeming points with Ryan/Summer interaction, Taylor, a cute ending. But still, it was ridiculous.
The Disconnect is also my 2nd to worst epsiode. It was just a contrived mess between the whole stripper working her way through law school and Julie and Kirsten's adventures and Johnny's vicodin love confession. SS were cute but everything else sucked.
The only reason I didn't like The Game Plan is because it was the seed to very bad storylines. Mid-season 3 was just awful! Episodes since The Journey started to get good!
I know a lot of people rate The Game Plan as one of the better S3 episodes but I don't like it either. The Johnny/Marissa shit is so ridiculous. And I hated how Marissa treated Ryan in that episode. One horrible moment was when he calmly suggests she see her guidance counselor and she throws a tantrum and runs away.
The college stuff felt very plausible but the Johnny crap marred it for me. The middle of S3 was where it really got ugly. From The Disconnect to The Pot Stirrer, it was so bad. Disc 3 of my S3 DVDs is rarely touched. Once Johnny died, things drastically improved. I definitely enjoyed everything from The Journey on.

Agreed, The Game Plan was just ugly. Eveything Johnny/Marissa was dumb and how she reacted about the college guidance was just plain stupid. I just didn't like it. The Disconnect isn't good at all, but it did have some good scenes, but still it was just BAD. Frist off with Marissa and Johnny, Ryan and Newport Group, it was just BAD.
I agree mid season 3 has to be the worst mid season EVER. Back to my point on The Game Plan, which is really what started the very bad writing in mid season 3. All the storylines were just crappy. Kaitlin comeback was handled REALLY bad, all the storylines having to do with Johnny were just EXTREMELEY bad, it was just horrifying. The only discs I touch in my s3 dvd are 1-2, skip 3 entirely, soemtimes 4, and 5-7. From The Journey things got better and more entertaining, though the last 3 episodes were very good.

Best to Worst Adult Work Issue:
1. The Balboa Heights issue (I loved this story. It was handled greatly)
2. The Light House Issue (Ditto with this story. It was so interesting)
3. New Match Prostitution Ring (I liked this one, but not as much as the two above)
4. Rebecca Issue (Eww. This was awful)
5. The Hospital Issue (This was just disgusting. Second worst story ever, the first being Johnny)

This is a little off topic but has anyone read the Series finale sides cuz if you notice there all kinda similar to what actually happened apart from one bit....the whole Trey thing, as i was reading it the whole thing seems kinda random, it seems really weird but oh well
Ill be intereseted to see what behind the scene featurettes we get. i hope we get one that talks about the last day of filming and one where the cast talk about the past 4 seasons

I was reading the sides and they are exactly like what happened, but characters were converted. The Trey thing is very random, agreed. I hope we get commentaries and featurettes!

Ooo. I want to read them. I heard of them, but I never actually saw them.
I hope the special features are really good. Season 3's features were some of the worst special features on a box set, season 2's features were okay, and season 1's features were good. We deserve amazing for the last box set.

Agreed. I liked S1 and S2 features equally, but S3 features are dissapointing. We alread know we have deleted scenes (great!), gag reel, commentaries, and behind scene featurettes. Hopefully they are all good!

I will even admit that The Safe Harbor was a terrible episode, and I hated Marissa during the entire thing. Here her friends...Ryan, Summer and Seth...go through all this trouble to get her back into Harbor, yet she shows no appreciation. It was also incredibly stupid how Ryan, Summer and Seth are waiting for Marissa outside the poolhouse...debating whether or not she'll show up...and Marissa just nonchalantly comes over and says, "I'm here!" That whole episode was garbage. But you can't blame Mischa Barton...you have to blame the writers. At that point in the season, you could tell all the actors were bored and tired.
Favorite Adult Storyline? Probably the Balboa Heights era...episode 7 through 10. It was interesting to see Kirsten and Sandy fight because it seemed real and not too excessive. Even though they were in a fight, Sandy still cracked jokes and was happy. I really liked their dynamic during that whole thing.
I also felt the Lighthouse thing could have been much better if the writers hadn't suddenly ended it. The Jimmy and Sandy dynamic was awesome, yet it never went through. This storyline may have saved Jimmy Cooper.

You guys were lucky to get special features for Season 2 and 3 cuz in the Uk we didnt get anything but i dont think we really missed out on much. Its funny watching them talking about Season 2 on the Season 1 boxset cuz none of what they actually wanted to happene actually happened.
With the Series Finale sides it is seriously odd, you have vernoica and taylor trying to get their old house back (but its actually Ryan and Seth) and another one is Veronica talking to a builing inspector about rebuilding the house (which is sandy when the cohens are in the house) and theres other scenes which happened in the finale and then randonmly theres something with Ryan and Trey which has nothing to do with the finale at all and there a narrative about how Treys become a big blackjack dealer in Vegas and hes made loads of money, it seems really out of place. Maybe a deleted scene?

Wow. That's 8 guys/14 relationships in 4 years, so she averages 2 men and 3.5 relationships per year. You gotta love Julie! She's actually the most consistent character IMO. I think she was amazing the whole run. She started a bitch to a gold digger to a sweetheart to a grieving mother to a normal woman. It was an amazing ride. I think Julie's my favourite character. Definitely favourite adult character. But Ryan is probably my ultimate favorite, but he had his moments while Julie was amazing the entire time for me.

Seth/Taylor
Luke/Summer
Luke/Anna
Luke/Taylor (Even though they never had a scene together, I think they wouldve been a great pair)
Which leads me to my conclusion that they shouldve never gotten rid of Luke. His character has so much potential. I wished they'd left him on the show for the whole run. Couldve been an amazing FAB 5. :)

Yeah, I did notice that. I have the cover of "Come Into our Room", and it's pretty good (If anyone wants it, let me know :)). I would have loved for it to be used, it's a pity none of those songs weren't used. They would have fitted in perfectly with many scenes in Season 4.

I totally wanted Luke to come back to hook up with Taylor before the season had started and Taryan was a thought in anyone's mind.
And yes, Luke should have stayed! Or they at least they should have brought him back this year. They'd have a perfect excuse to with his brothers being on the show. I loved the fab 6 during the Oliver era. I wish we could have seen the great Luke/Anna romance

Just bringing this over. From Matt Roush of TV Guide.
http://www.tvguide.com/News-Views/Columnists/Ask-Matt/Default.aspx#01heroes
Question: I'm just writing to weigh in on something you mentioned a few columns ago about the difference between One Tree Hill and The O.C. Don't get me wrong, when both shows kicked off, my favorite by a long shot was The O.C., and it remained that way through the shows' first seasons. I still preferred The O.C. through its second season, holding out hope that it would improve, but as we all know, it didn't. I think where One Tree Hill got it right is that it has always been a guilty pleasure and knows it. However ridiculous the story lines are (and for the record, I do hate the odd dance routine that seems to pop up once or twice a season), they keep me looking forward to the next episode, especially last year with the shooting. What I'm getting at here is that One Tree Hill has been consistent since day one, while The O.C. could not hold onto the brilliance of its freshman season. Obviously the writing, acting and characters are inferior in OTH, but it's one of the best guilty pleasures on TV right now. And after the ending of Episode 15, I am really looking forward to the next one!— Patrick
Matt Roush: Oh, Patrick, surely it's too early to be pulling an April Fools' prank. (And for the record, I'm glad you enjoy your guilty pleasures. What would life be without them?) But what you seem to be saying is that it's better for a show that knows it's crap never to aim higher than crap, because then at least you know what you're getting. As opposed to a show like The O.C., which aimed higher and burned bright, albeit for a shorter period of time and resulted in a few subpar seasons, all of which drew more critical scrutiny than One Tree Hill ever merited. This is because The O.C. actually managed once upon a time to exceed expectations, whereas One Tree Hill has always invited nothing but contempt. Sorry, but longevity does not always convey success or respect. If One Tree Hill had aired anywhere but on the WB and the CW, it would have died long before The O.C. began its irreversible fade. And please, dear readers, spare me the hate mail. One Tree Hill is the Criminal Minds of teen dramas.
pm513
03-12-2007, 12:26 AM
Congratulations, OTH, you've consistenly been a shitty show! What an accomplishment to not only suck, but to suck continuously for four years.
The O.C. only really had one bad season and even then it was still better than the majority of teen dramas out there.

I hate Matt Roush. Ausellio by far is the best collumnist.
Best Adult in Each Season:
Season 1: Sandy
Season 2: Kirsten (I did not hate her this season, I actually liked her storylines. I would choose Caleb, but he never completed something for me)
Season 3: Julie
Season 4: Julie (Even though I also liked Kirsten and Sandy a LOT, Julie is the best adult this season).
Non-Relationships I would've liked to see:
Ryan/Summer (Definitely #1)
Luke/Summer
Marissa/Seth
Kirsten/Neil
Julie/Trey (Don't shoot  It would've been good like another Luke/Julie era)
Ryan/Kaitlin
Taylor/Luke
Best Couples each Season:
S1: Ryan and Marissa (They were the perfect couple in the season)
S2: Julie and Caleb (No couple was stable this season, I did not like MaRyan, Kandy, Sethummer, they were all apart or broken up. Julie and Caleb was a great ride through out the season)
S3: Seth and Summer (Not perfect, but best of the season)
S4: Ryan and Taylor (THE perfect couple!!!)
Best Acting in Season Order:
Ben/Ryan: S4, S1, S2, S3
Adam/Seth: S1, S2, S4, S3
Rachel/Summer: S4, S1, S3, S2
Kelly/Kirsten: S2, S1, S4, S3
Peter/Sandy: S1, S4, S2, S3
Melinda/Julie: S4, S2, S1, S3
Mischa/Marissa: S1, S3 (You've got to give credit for The Graduates!), S2

Rank The Seasons...has this already been done?
Season 2: In my opinion, superior to season 1 in character development and pace. This season dove into each character, and I truly felt everyone matured greatly throughout the year. And everyone had a major storyline that carried them through the season. The guest stars were a little much, but they really added to the regulars.
Season 1: Fresh, funny and exciting. A new environment, new characters, new storylines, etc. Although the pace was fast and unrealistic, it was always fun. The balance of comedy and drama was perfect.
Season 3: Horrible. It started with somewhere to go (The Aftermath) and ended with somewhere to go (The Graduates), but what about the other 23 episodes? Unlike season 2, all the guest stars were horrible and added nothing to the regulars.
Season 4: Creative resurgence? Sure. Creative resurgence for a show called The OC? No. That's what bugged me about season 4...it didn't feel like The OC. The story was too different, the characters were too different...everything was different. Change is good, don't get me wrong, but too much can hurt. In total, I watched 5 episodes of season 4. So although I can't go into great comment about season 4, I did get a feel from those five episodes.

That's the first I've seen Season 2 outrank Season 1. To each his own however haha.
I would have LOVED to see the great Luke and Anna love story (even Josh says so!). They would definitely have become my favourite couple ever, as they're my two fave guest stars.
And no worries to all who got the song, glad you like it! I'm just relieved to finally get my hands on it haha.

Anthony, considering you only watched 5 episodes of S4, I don't think you have any right to judge it at all.
I see nothing so "diferent" about S4. What is so different? Kandy are a happy couple again? Seth is funny? Ryan deals with his issues? More focus on family and less on love triangles? Less melodrama and more humor? Yes, what horrible non-O.C. changes. I feel bad for the people who were so narrow-minded that they looked at everything in terms of "omg there's no Marissa!" or "omg how can Ryan date Taylor even though Marissa's been dead for months?"" So many people who hate S4 went into S4 hating it no matter what. It's not the quality of the show, it's the Marissa factor.
Best Couple
1:Every couple rocked this year. I guess Kandy or RM (but SS were amazing too!)
2: Even admist all the saddness, I was still feeling the Kandy love.
3: Seth & Summer
4: Ryan & Taylor

I dont think Season 2 can be called a great Season, yes it had the best story arc out of all the 4 seasons but before that there really isnt many episodes that i would go and watch over again. the Trey arc defiently saves Season 2 from being bland. Season 4 is better cuz its consitantly good apart form 2 maybe 3 episodes all the rest are of great quality and i could easily watch the season 4 from start to finish but with Season 2 i only really watch that it for the Trey arc. It does frustrate me when people say they didnt watch Season 4 cuz marissa died, i dont get why they just dont give it a chance.
Does anyone find it odd watching The Homecoming and someone else playing Trey? I wish they could have had LMG redo the scenes or something.

I hated season 2, but's that's mainly due to the fact that I loved Seth/Summer - without them, i'd probably never have watched The O.C. The Zach storyline was a ok I guess, but it pissed me off when the brought him back again, just a complete waste of time.

Autumn Reeser has joined CW's untitled Tom Wheeler pilot.
The untitled Tom Wheeler project, from WBTV and Class IV Prods., centers on a brilliant graduate student (Ryan Devlin) and his friends, who use their skills to solve crimes. Reeser will play the Devlin character's down-to-earth girlfriend, a paralegal and the daughter of an FBI agent. Reeser (APA, Kritzer, Levine, Wilkins Entertainment) recently co-starred on "The O.C."

I agree %100. Seriously, it was perfectly said.
Rank of the Seasons:
S4<S1<S2<S3
Season 4: Amazing. Just simply amazing. It was so realistic in the first 4 episodes of how everybody dealt with Marissa's death and then through out 3 more episodes all realizing how they've changed and matured through the process of their mourn. It was just perfect and the pace of the show was indeed amazing. How they showed us the grieving, the realizing, and the changing of our characters was awesome. Kandy get to the parents they once were, Ryan is happy with a girl, Seth and Summer surface a turmoil, but overcome it, Julie has her men, but ends by herself. It was perfect. Best season ever.
Season 1: Definitely right behind Season 4 and by so little. This season was also amazing. It was very parallel to S4. In the first 3 episodes they deal with Ryan coming to Newport, Ryan adapting to Newport and to the people around him, and in the end going right back were he started from. Everything was well done and I love this season, but S4 is my all time favorite.
Season 2: I do not hate this season or think it is bad. At all! The beginning was the only tiny flaw of the season. New characters were handled badly in the beginning, but then they started getting better mid-season. It was nice to see everyone in there seperate ways. In the middle of the season things got back to pace and it was very good, but what makes S2 for me is the last 4 episodes. Never in OC history have we seen 4 chains of such intense episodes. It was seriously amazing and how it ended improved it in my perspective. Good season.
Season 3: First 7 episodes: Good. Mid Season: Awful. 16-22: Good. Last 3 Episodes: Great. Overall season: BAD!

Did we ever get confirmation of that from a reliable source? If not then it must have been a rumor because she wouldn't be allowed to go out for a pilot for another network if she had a deal with FOX. FOX would have to develop a project around her and/or put her on a current show. Since she's signed on for a pilot on the CW then she must not be tied to FOX after all.

That's AMAZING news! I'm sure the pilot will get picked up since The CW aren't developing that many shows for next season. It kinda sounds like "Veronica Mars, but with 2 guys" and of course Autumn which will be GREAT! Hope it's a success! :):)

Autumn a paralegal? Oh gosh I could just see her know. The girl is definitely talented I'm just glad we'll be seeing her so soon again I hope this definitely gets picked up it sounds interesting and she deserves it she really developed since her first time on screen and really did wonders with Taylor Autumn was sooo hilarious the last two seasons. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for that....
It's probably better she didn't get a deal with fox less of chance those who became fans of her show would only be dissappointed when they pull it after four seasons :( But I'm not bitter honest :) And will forever love The O.C. I just think that seems more of a fit especially since it seems the bigger broadcast channels don't seem interested in like teenish new age shows. They basically cater to adult shows so The CW is probably the better fit for her. So good luck to her :) Hope it airs soon...

FOX doesn't deserve Autumn Reeser. I can't wait for her new pilot. I love her.
It seems that everyone is moving on pretty well. So far Melinda and Autumn have been both cast in pilots for the fall. And I'm still hoping that they cast Willa in Gossip Girls. Adam's movie comes out in April and I think Mischa's is out in September. I'm following all of these actors forever.

Bringing this over from the last thread (I've been catching up) only b/c there's a couple of 'drunk' scenes missing:
1. Marissa in The Best Chrismukkah Ever
2. Kirsten in The Dearly Beloved
3. Summer in The Party Favor
4. Marissa in The Family Ties
5. Sandy in The Links
6. Seth in The Pilot
7. Taylor in The Shake Up
8. Seth in The Family Ties
9. Caleb in The Way We Were
10. Seth in The Gringos
11. Taylor in The Earth Girls Are Easy
12. Lindsay in The Ex-Factor
13. Summer in The Pilot ('molesting' Ryan. hee)
14. Kirsten in The Homecoming ("fresh margs?")
Also, for some reason this cracked me up -
What about WORST episode in OC history? *Looks in s3 booklet* Has to be either The Game Plan, The Safe Harbor, or The Disconnect. I think The Safe Harbor.
Don't ask me why (?!) but thankyou

2. The Power Of Love- I dont no if it's because i've seen it too much or because its crap, but i can't watch it, really, really, cant. It's the only one
3. The Chrismukkah Bar Mitzvukkah- truly and utterly horrific, how you can calim the safe harbour to be bad idk, i loved it, this was the oc at it's worst
4. The My Two Dads- awful... the way they handled the two dads situation was horrible, thank god we skipped it up for that brilliant french accent.

Worst: The Road Warrior

Favorite and Worst Love Triangles: (there are too many!)

15. J/Frank/Bullit
16. R/M/Theresa
17. J/Caleb/Luke
Favorite 5 Love Triangles:
1. R/M/Oliver- This triangle played perfectly since the beginning. The hate and jealousy over Oliver and in the end him being a psycho was perfect.
2. S/S/Anna- This was also played perfectly.
3. R/M/Luke- It lasted 9 episodes, but it was great.
4. J/Frank/Bullit- Many people found this bad I think, but it was great seeing how Julie had to choose from gold digger to love and in the end choosing herself was just a perfect triangle to make Julie realize she can be independent.
5. R/M/Trey- How Marissa helped Trey, to Marissa shooting Trey. It was perfect.
Worst:
R/M/Johnny- Is there any other triangle you could hate more? God, this one was just UGLY. Johnny was so annoying with his 'I am so screwed, but they made a chrismukkah barmitzvakkah for me' attitude. I just hated this. Marissa got annoying at one point and Ryan stood there to watch. Ugh, this was just awful.

The Escape--I absolutely loved this episode it was the beginning of the Fab Four, and their chemistry was amazing whether it be Ryan/Marissa or Seth/Summer. Also the Sandy/Kirsten were interesting in this ep. Also loved the callback with Mazzy Star's Into Dust from the Pilot.
Worst:
The Road Warrior--This episode was somewhat boring to me and even though I liked Sadie alright in The Heavy Lifting. This episode made me start to not care for her too much with her smacking the truck with a hammer, offering Ryan strip poker, and then to seal the deal showing up at the poolhouse after Ryan had just told her he needed to talk to Marissa. O and the whole "phone break-up" was yet another smack in the face to R/M fans. After all this couple went through they didn't even get some blow-out break-up but a weak phone call conversation.

Marissa: Tie between The Party Favour (323) and The Family Ties (207). Something about drunk pissed-off Marissa gets me going haha.

umm i dont have screen caps but what i can remember...
im gonna do all 12
even Caleb lol
1) Peter Gallagher (Sandy)umm... ooo... ahhh... the eyebrows... they're really in effect in the pilot i remember... but i like the thick hair from the beginning of S2...
2) Kelly Rowan (Kirsten) umm she looked pretty good in The New Era. She also looked wow in... DRUNK! in The Homecoming! lol
3) Ben McKenzie (Ryan) not really sure... he looked best with the S4 hair though... that bit when he's all staring at taylor in The Groundhog Day with the big sad puppy eyes lol
4) Adam Brody (Seth) Soaking Wet, In A Spider Man OUtfit, wiping his eyes at Marissa. Or in The Chrismukkah That Almost Wasn't
5) Rachel Bilson (Summer) Ughh... (drools) do i have to choose?... probably in The Dearly Beloved. The choppy hair, the way the black outlines her perfectly brown eyes...
6) Melinda Clarke (Julie) probably around the time when she was with jimmy... like in the New Era? Or pretty good in The Dearly Beloved too. And in The End Of Innocence.. the wedding dress. And in the Rain Day Women, with the cigar
7) Mischa Barton (Marissa) um, The Way We Were, with those tears running down her face. The Pilot, so simply beautiful and The Heartbreak with those bangs... i dont get why everyone hates them lol
8) Alan Dale (Caleb) Now he never did change... i always thought he looked particularly business like in The Distance
9) Tate Donovan (Jimmy) I liked the beard... The Distance
10) Autumn Reeser (Taylor) pretty nice in The Avengers (the bit when she drops her food on the floor) and at the prom.... and in The Summer Bummer
11) Willa Holland (Kaitlin) mmm willa holland... uh, probs in The Shake Up. Or The Dream Lover
12) Chris Carmack (Luke) he also looked the same all the time... no clue

Kirsten - The Heights (109). The hair makes her look stunning. Actually.... everyone looks stunning in this episode. Everyone. Except perhaps Anna. But still, everyone is HOT.

Julie - The Girlfriend (106). Dunno how to explain it, but she's amazing here.

Also, I was thinking that everytime we talk about the episode you give it a rank out of 10. Like for example, the Pilot 10/10. And we post what we liked or not, a discussion of it.

Let's start with The Pilot!!! Later on we'll post the pictures sides etc. Right now just discuss and chat! I think the Pilot is the best Pilot I have ever seen. It was seriously excellent because it was so well written and done. How every character was introduced was amazing, it was perfect.
Pilot= 10/10

I agree, The Pilot gets a 10/10. :)
An O.C. mention in Kritin's E! Online Chat:Jeff in Edina, Minnesota: As one of your many loyal patrons, I was saddened that you did not pay respect to the finale of The O.C. in your column.
I'm truly sorry. That's because in my personal reality, it's not dead. (As Summer knows, denial's a bitch.) And in the real reality, SOAPnet starts airing 6 p.m. weeknight reruns on Apr. 6, so I'm tuning in for that. By the way, I just spoke with Melinda Clarke, who is reteaming with CSI creator Anthony Zuiker. How great is that? "I'm doing a Anthony Zuiker pilot for CBS next week called The Man," she tells me. "This character is a very tough, very hard-core detective. I really wanted to do something that was different from The O.C. You can't top Julie Cooper!" Yep, Julie always seemed like a top to me!

mm so about the pilot... i was never such a fan of it, but i loved the way it followed onto the model home.
i loved the music, all of it, i loved drunk seth, the way kirsten acted around ryan the mix of anger and apology, kelly rowan really is incredible
mischa looks incredible, and melinda makes a lasting impression with her
"i thought u were going to wear the prada mary janes"
"pulling your hair back is harsh on your angles"
and "where's my fro yo?"
i give the pilot, in general a 9/10
because... the characters were'nt fully developed, the actors were obviously slightly uncomfortable and all that stuff.
also the cohen house is ugly lol

^^Hahaha, I agree Pilot does not top my favorite episodes, for me The Model Home is superior than the Pilot in a lot of ways. Still the Pilot was awesome. I really liked how there was everything in the pilot. A fight, a fashion show, a party, affairs. There was everything.

Hey! I'm back! If you didn't notice, I left for Italy and France, and it was amazing. Haha, OT, but I'll just say that on the plane ride, I listened to all my OC songs about 100 times. Not exaggerating. I am grieving so much still. I just keep feeling like it's a hiatus.
Anyway, I think that's an awesome idea about the episode thing.
So The Pilot. 10/10. Unlike some people, it's my favourite episode of the series. It started the show, and it really felt like a character analysis. There wasn't too much of a plot going on, much like The Avengers in that we see where these characters are. For example, we leared that Jimmy's in trouble, but there still was so much more to learn, much like the chase in finding Volchuk. Ryan also was spectacular in seeing all of these stories fall into place like seeing Jimmy in the bathroom a mess and Luke going off with that random girl. It really felt like a whole different environment that Ryan never experienced in his life. So I absolutely loved it.

The pilot what do you say about the pilot that hasn't already been said. lol.. It was funny, dramatic, surprising at times. It basically opened us up to a world where everything looked perfect but underneath lies secrets, lies, drama and whatever else.
I really loved the pilot and it will remain one of my favorite episodes of all time. Why? Because I feel that Josh and the rest of the writers sequenced it well. We essentially as the viewers got to see and experience through Ryan's eyes what New Port was all about. And for me that was an awesome first episode.
I mean honestly it just had me hooked. The foundation was really layed down if you go back now you could see how the show was being laid out who would eventually hook up, break up, have marriage problems, be in trouble with the police,Learn who are the doo gooders, be on top now but later realize your just like everyone else hmm...(Luke).
And actually I should refrain from saying through only Ryan's eyes because in a sense it eventually evolves into experiencing it through Seth as well who eventually with Ryan's help gets to experience a side of New Port that he has yet to experience.
For me the parts of the pilot that had me hooked to the show immediately was the laying down of the Seth/Ryan friendship. You just knew immediately that they were gonna be friends no matter what happened.
The Ryan/Marissa instant attraction because from first meeting they found something in each other that was so different. The Sandy/Kirsten/Ryan drama about letting him stay the weekend. It introduced us to the first formal affair of New Port which was the fashion show. The party at Holly's... need I say more. It was just a great episode and was just such worth watching again and again.
I was sitting at home over the weekend and I saw the ads hyping up The OC joining soap net and I found myself getting hyped. lol.... Really its been helping they even play some of the music from the show in them to really grab your attention I'm just glad it's actually getting what it deserves and is going into syndication.
It was to much of a phenomenon to have it just sit on the shelf I hope that future generations fall in love with the show just as I did.

On a side note I happened to be watching the episode where they all go visit their college's and upon seeing for like the third time I couldn't help but keep staring at Wes Remember him he was Ryan's freshman buddy/tour guide for the weekend. And for some reason he reminded me of someone. Any of you tree hill fans as well? Because I don't know if I'm late and this has already been realized but Wes is actually Psycho Derek that went after Peyton in one Tree hill after hearing his voice it all made sense.

Hahaha, Ya, He's really scary on OTH as Psycho Derek. When The O.C. first introduced the character of Wes in "The College Try", I actually thought they were gonna make him a series regular in season 4. Until I heard the fan response to his character (which wasn't good) and of course Marissa dying.
OT:
It seems Adam Brody had taken up Boxing since The OC ended shooting a few weeks ago.

mm today we can discuss the model home! yayyyyy
i loved this episode really, 10/10, the way that ryan stumbles in on the cohens convo at dinner is classic. I also love the way Ryan and Marissa connect and Luke showing up for breakfast at the coopers
and, of course, suki, LOL
i think the brilliant episdoe was somewat dampened by the pretty crap SFX of the building on fire, but it still worked fantastically, and the use of hallelujah, though subtle, is lingering. Kirstens late night call to her banker, her scene in the model home with jimmy, kelly is really standout. Seth is great but mischa steals the show for me. aside from looking gorgeous with a good tan and slightly too red cheeks, she plays out the scene in the home excellently, and at the end the looks of sort of shock/curiosity/anger are all brilliant
10/10!

Okay, the Model Home. I thought it was really, really good, so I'll give it a 10/10. But I think it isn't an episode that I can rewatch many times unlike The Pilot. With episodes like The Pilot, you can find new interesting things about it each time you watch it, while with The Model Home, it's pretty much laid out right away. Either way, I really love it, and it's great at progressing the plot further. I fell in love with Ryan and Marissa right away in The Pilot, but things got even deeper in this episode. Also, I loved them exploring the Seth-Marissa bond. It was cute. So great episode, but I enjoy The Pilot more. But this is a much better plot episode.

TV Guide Exclusive: Lady Heather Returns to CSI!
Lady Heather is back! The professional dominatrix who gets CSI's Gil Grissom all hot under the collar returns to the CBS series May 10. During this, her fourth stint on CSI, Melinda Clarke's character could very well shed some light on Grissom's secretive relationship with fellow CSI Sara Sidle. "He's a fascinating character to go after," Clarke teases. "And who doesn't love a good triangle?"

Model home definitely gets a solid 10/10.
Was there a bad fan reaction to Wes? I really liked him. I thought he'd be a potential love interest for Marissa at the time, and I realised that I didn't care - he seemed likeable enough without some dirty annoying history.
And I've got a question for all of you - at any point in the series, has Ryan ever been in Sandy and Kirsten's bedroom? Seems a bit weird to me, seeing they're all in the same house haha, but I can only think of Seth in the room, and even Summer at one point...
And I managed to get the finale song that I've had lots of trouble getting: On A Saturday by Jacob Golden. It's stunning, if anyone is also having trouble getting this, just say so and I'll post it.

Thanks Valeria - I can't believe I didn't remember that! Shame on me...
I agree on Seth and Marissa. Romantically, I think it would've been a little too incestuous (even for The OC), but as a friendship, it could've had great potential.
But that's what I loved about the show. Occasionally they'd have some great random coupling scenes. Like Ryan + Kaitlin for instance. One of my favourite's is Alex + Julie - that scene was amazing IMO ("Marissa's only been in love once... and he looked a whole lot different in a wifebeater"). Does anyone else have any favourite random couplings? I loved the Season 3 Julie + Summer couplings. So deliciously "awkwaaaard" haha.

Appreciate it haha, it was an absolute bitch to get ahold of. I suggest anyone who doesn't have it should download it. That poking-with-stick emoticon is brilliant, I love it! Well sweetie darling, I work on it every day, and every day stuff gets done. I'm still waiting upon some people to send me in stuff for it, but apart from that, it's coming along. I promise you I haven't sent it to hell. Exam period for me started last week and last for another 2 weeks, so I'll have to put it on hold. I've learnt to not feel pressured by the site visitors, because being the last big thing I'm doing for the show, I don't want it to be rushed. :)
But yeah, sorry for not having it out sooner. It'll be cool in the end I reckon haha.
Another random coupling I just thought of was Kirsten and Holly. The line "Isn't it so cute you just want to kill yourself!?" gets me every time. A random coupling I wish we had was Luke and Caleb. For some reason. Luke and Anna are the effing best, they should've kept them!
Just thought of another one. Johnny and Oliver. Perhaps Oliver could've run over Johnny, and then Marissa could've shot Oliver. Marissa would then have been run over by Volchok, and drunk Kirsten would wheel around the corner and smash into Volchok before drunk Luke killed Kirsten. I think I'm getting carried away.

Summer and Luke would have been a good one as well when they kinda teased it in Season 1, also maybe Luke and Katalin cuz it has to finish the set doesnt he. LOL. Wow, I haven't been on here in awhile!
Regarding "The Model Home," this is probably one of my favorite episodes from season 1. Character development is amazing...we finally get to know Seth the nerdy kid-next-door, Marissa the beauty who has everything, Kirsten the hard-worker who is stuck in her bubble, and Sandman the excellent father and companion. Everything about that episode was amazing. I definitely like the bond between Marissa, Seth and Ryan. When Seth is skateboarding in the pool and Ryan/Marissa are eating at the side.
"What did I ever do to you?"
"That's the point Marissa...you've lived next door to me forever and haven't said or done anything to me."
Awesome scene!

Kevin Sorbo, who is coming off a recurring role on Fox's recently ended "The O.C.," has been tapped to star in the Hallmark Channel original movie "Avenging Angel."
Sorbo is set to play a preacher charged with making a life-or-death decision when a ragtag group of families seek refuge in his church on the run from the powerful Col. Cusack and his lawless gang. The preacher begs the outlaws to spare their lives, but the church is destroyed and everyone inside it gets killed. As a result, the preacher turns away from God and vows to avenge the incident as a bounty hunter. Years later, when he returns to his town and discovers Cusack's murderous plans for wiping out a small community, he is called to action.
Other roles are being cast for the movie, which is set to debut at 9 p.m. July 7. Hallmark is expected to make the announcement at its upfront presentation to advertisers today in New York.
"Angel" is from RHI Entertainment, Alpine Medien and Larry Levinson Prods. Robert Halmi Jr. and Larry Levinson are executive producers, while Randy Pope and Lincoln Lageson are producers. David Cass Sr. is directing from a screenplay by William Sims Myers.
This isn't the first time for Sorbo to play a man of God. He portrays a priest in the upcoming Sci Fi Channel movie "Something Beneath," also from RHI; guest-starred as a former priest on UPN's "Love, Inc."; and played a priest in the indie film "Clipping Adam."
Sorbo, best known for playing the title role in "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys," also starred in "Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda." He is repped by ICM, manager Matt Luber of Nine Yards Entertainment and attorney Dave Feldman.

The Model Home another awesome episode. It did seem that they went out of their way to make a connection with Seth and Marissa. They have the same preferences in books and we later find out from a hilarious one liner from Seth "I listen to the same music as Marissa Cooper" lol.. To which we see him look disgusted and weirded out by that fact. It was definitely awesome. Loved the fighting scenes in this one especially in the fire. Ryan's forever mention lined "You know what I like about Rich kids" and then punches Luke "Nothin" and he runs off definitely The OC at its best...

Was there a bad fan reaction to Wes? I really liked him. I thought he'd be a potential love interest for Marissa at the time, and I realised that I didn't care - he seemed likeable enough without some dirty annoying history.
Cormac absolutely not I actually liked Wes. He wasn't one of those characters that just felt like they were being forced down your throat. I was merely pointing out that the actor who played him as recently been seen in One Tree hill so it looks like he's still working after his stint appearance as Wes on The OC. He seems like a really great actor.

Hey COrmac, you're on here a lot now! AWESOME!
Just popping in to say high again. Miss thoe fun times.
Wes was hated over at TWOP, but I can't see what was so bad about him. He was a nessesary character to say the least.
Gosh I even missed Anthony C, and I thought that would never be the case. :P

Yea I think the parties at the dorms were suppose to be more gritty to say the least, but the Berkely wouldn't allow the college to be portrayed that way, well that's what I recall.

Interesting to know that maybe they changed and tamed the story line at Berkeley because of that fact. Imagine a dorm party New Port style like in season one I'm sure that's what the college was afraid of happening.

Ya, I remember that. I too wished I read the original script.
I like Wes surprisingly because he didn't seem like he'd fall in love with Marissa. I know it was meant to be aimed that way, but when she compared him to her father, it more seemed like he'd be a mentor like Che was (however, that didn't turn out perfectly well, haha). But after seeing OTH, I never can look at Wes the same way again. He was a freak on OTH.
Tomorrow, we're up to The Gamble. I like this idea because it really lets me reflect on each episode, not just the rememberable ones.

I'm definitely a big fan of "The Gamble." That's the first episode where I started to love Kirsten. She played the motherly role so well.
I'd really like to know what happened to Kelly Rowan's acting between seasons 2 and 3. It's like she lost all interest in the series after the season 2 finale.
Favorite part of the episode? The ending montage when Dawn leaves in the cab and Kirsten says to Sandy, "We just got in way over our head...".
I need to start rewatching season 1. I haven't watched a season 1 episode in probably three months.

I do not like Kevin Sorbo, especially after what he said about The OC cast, so I hope that movie FAILS.
Does Ben McKenzie have any role 'till the moment?
I'm sorry, I've been away for a bit, and never caught this- what did Kevin Sorbo say about the cast?

OMG! Thanks so much. That one's way better than the previous one. I am also happy how they returned to their original theme. You can also see the DVDs (some of them) from the pic, so I suspect it to be Ryan and Taylor on the first one, Seth and Summer on the second one, Sandy and Kirsten on the third one, Julie and Kaitlin on the fourth one, and the cast on the fifth one (or it's Julie on the fourth and Kaitlin on the fifth). Either way, much better than the original cover art.
So it's time to comment on The Gamble. I love this episode. 10/10. It's the closing episode of Ryan's 'journey' into the Cohen family, and it really showed Kirsten finally accepting him. Sandy and Seth were already ready to take him in, but it was Kirsten holding them back, and she really found a son in him. I felt bad for Marissa in the last episode after Ryan freaked out, but it was kinda strange how she was barely talking to Ryan in this episode, but she acts like she's in love with him in episode 4. Either way, it was good. And I loved Dawn, and the Newpsies were just great.
