It's now nearly a week since youngster Madeleine McCann went missing from an Algarve holiday resort in Portugal.

The three-year-old, from Rothley, Leicestershire, disappeared from an apartment in Praia da Luz on May 3.

Madeleine had been left sleeping with her brother and sister, two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie, while her parents, Gerry and Kate, dined at a nearby restaurant.

She had been wearing white pyjama bottoms with a small floral design and a short-sleeved pink top with a picture of Eeyore on it.

The latest news can be found on..http://www.gm.tv/index.cfm?articleid=25756

This news makes me so upset i have two reasons for creating this thread about it;

Firstly to make everyone aware, especially those of you who live in Portugal that could be of great help in order to find or spot Madeleine - there is also a poster on the link above that you can download and print out to post around your area -which could be really helpful, again especially if you live in Portugal :).

And secondly i think it would be nice if we could all share our thoughts and prayers for dear Madeleine and her family in this time of need :(.

I am so upset to think that someone could be so nasty to do this and i just hope and wish that Madeleine will be returned safe and sound soon!

Peace and love, Nadine x.

I was watching news reports of this last night, her parents were optimistic that she'd be safe but it made me cry :( Apparently the only suspect is some blonde woman who was seen near the house, but its not normally women who abduct kids. :(

Disgusting. Why would parents leave such young children all alone? Why would someone be sick enough to do this? It bugs me sooo much! Makes me feel sick and want to cry when things like this come up :(

12 days and still no return of little Madeleine, There is still hope though and my wishes for her to be found safe are still ongoing!

There has been a suspect named and his house is being searched..

Actually, it's not that uncommon that women abduct kids.. they might have lost a child and the pain from that can cause them to kidnap someone else's child.

This is such a tragedy though.. A couple of days ago it was her birthday.. :( As the days go by, the chance of finding her is getting slimmer.

Did you all hear about the celebrities donating money to anyone who'll be able to find her?

And I'm with Ash.. who would leave their young kids alone like that?!

You got a good point there Mars, and that I can understand but i would have thought that women feel so maternally attached to kids they wouldnt do something so horrible. i just feel bad for the parents they were there on holiday and this had to happen.

And yes I heard Simon Cowell, Wayne Rooney (an english footballer) donated a lot of money. Theres like a £2.5 million reward for her return so hope she is returned safely :(

Unstable women don't really think about that though..

Yeah, the sum of money is amazing. J.K. Rowling donated the most amount of money, but she won't say how much..

It's amazing Rooney and JKR and everyone are helping..

I really hate it when parents leave young kids alone in the most stupidest situations

I just hope that she actually was abducted 'to order' and at least then she will still be alive, and I hope whoever has her finally decides they can't put the family through any more stress and gives her back.

Thanks for the link i put an add in too and set the piccie to my default one :).

So its more than 3 weeks now since Madeleine was abducted, my hopes are still that she gets found and is safe. The main thing that us as the public can do, in order to help, is to keep Madeleine in everyone's minds and keep her in the media.

All those people who will be going on holidays this summer may be able to spot her as long as they remember to keep a look out for her that is. I know this seems like very little chance but its still a chance of bringing the wonderful little maddie home to her family :).

Peace and love,
Nadine x.

Is no one inspecting the parents? I've heard of so many stories where the parents do something to the kids and pretend they were kidnapped. Its odd that her parents left their 3 children under the age of 5 alone in a foreign country while they're on vacation, where no one knows them, and one of the three kids happens to get kidnapped? That's just way too fishy.
