Love. Betrayal. Sex. Gossip. Deception. And that's just before third period.
On behalf of Michael Eisner’s The Tornante Company, we are thrilled to introduce their first online film production, Prom Queen.
Prom Queen is one of the most interesting and original online features we’ve ever seen. It’s a serialized mystery told over 80 episodes – each running 90 seconds long. What makes it so unique is that this show happens in real time. As we count down to prom night --this June--we all get to experience a new episode on http://www.promqueen.tv. We get to follow our character’s lives day by day. Each Monday is the start of a new week. On Saturday we party with our characters, and on Sundays, perhaps, some quiet introspection as they update their blogs.
This is what people are saying about the series so far:
"The first episodes harken back to proven hits, from the high-school melodrama of Fox's "The O.C." to the type-castings of the horror movie "Scream." A more direct precedent might be Lonelygirl15, the extremely popular You-Tube personality who seems to hit an eerie family backstory in her bedroom videos (which turned out to be concocted by a pair of filmmakers).”
– Wall Street Journal
“It becomes a 360-degree experience within MySpace, “said Jeff Berman, MySpace’s general manger of video. “The show goes well beyond the actual filmed episodes. It extends into the lives of the characters on MySpace, and through them into and through the MySpace community.”
- Red Herring
We are 3 weeks in, and already we have seen Curtis go streaking through soccer practice, learn Ben has definitely been hiding some big secrets, and see why Lauren’s mom might not be mother of the year. The great thing is it’s easy to get caught up on the story if you haven’t started watching from the beginning, because each week all 7 episodes are available together, uncondensed.
