Every year, Sean Hannity hosts a Freedom Concert, complete with talk show hosts, live entertainment, the works. All proceeds of the concert (and I mean ALL proceeds) go to the Freedom Fund.

(For those of you who dont know, the Freedom Fund is a non-profit organization started by Oliver North. Basically, its a scholarship fund for the Children of Fallen Soldiers. Oliver started the Fund, so that these children could go to college.)

The next Freedom Concert will be held on September 11th, at Six Flags Great Adventure, in Jackson, New Jersey. I already have my tickets, and this will be the third Freedom Concert I have attended. If you have tickets, I hope to see you there. If not, go to Sean Hannity's website and try to get tickets. Regardless of your feelings on the War in Iraq...these children of Soldiers...of heroes....deserve a chance at a good life.

The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund honors the bravery and dedication exhibited by Americans in our Armed Forces who have sacrificed life or limb defending our country by providing educational scholarships to their children. In the last 20 years, over 15,000 service members have given their lives defending our country. More than 3,400 soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and Guardsmen have been killed in the war in Iraq, leaving behind approximately 2,000 children.

Thousands more members of our Armed Forces have been permanently disabled, leaving their families in difficult financial situations. Their children – the sons and daughters of America’s military heroes – (many of whom are now young) will be eligible for a Freedom Alliance Scholarship in the years to come.

Freedom Alliance has established a permanent Scholarship Trust Fund to aid the children of these brave Americans. In February 2007, Colorado Technical University pledged $1 million in full tuition scholarships for Freedom Alliance Scholarship recipients who wished to attend their university.

Through the generosity of so many patriotic Americans, the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund will provide scholarships for thousands of young Americans, reminding them that their parents’ sacrifice will never be forgotten by a grateful nation.

Scholarships Awarded

Through the goodness and generosity of thousands of Americans, including Sean Hannity’s faithful audience, the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $ 1,000,000 in scholarships in the last several years, including:

$25,000 to the USS Cole Memorial Fund for the children of the 17 sailors who were killed in the terrorist attack against the USS Cole in October 2000.

$40,000 to the dependent children of the 21 soldiers and 33 sailors killed at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.

A Special Message from Freedom Alliance
Founder and Honorary Chairman
LtCol Oliver North, USMC (Ret.)

During my many visits to Iraq, Afghanistan, and other parts of the world, I’ve had the privilege of spending time with our young Americans who proudly serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. I admire and respect them more than words can convey. I’ve seen them make that final sacrifice for our country. It’s never easy. What makes it more difficult is to know that this American’s dying prayer is for a loved one back home.
Their last appeal is to us – their fellow countrymen – to care for the families they’ve left behind. The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund ensures that the prayers of our fallen heroes will never be forgotten.
With your help, Freedom Alliance will not only help their children attain their dream of a college education, but we’ll remind them that the parents they lost were heroes – not because of the way they died, but because of the way they lived.

LtCol Oliver North, USMC (Ret.)
Freedom Alliance Founder and Honorary Chairman

I really hope that even if you cant attend the concert, that you will donate to the fund. These are the children of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Sean Hannity rocks, by the way

but yeah, freedom concert is a reaally good cause, because even those who oppose the war should find it inside themselves to support the soldiers and their children

It is...and its almost a spiritual experience when you are there. Thousands of Americans united in a common purpose...support for our military, and the families they left behind.

It really is a beautiful thing.

IT is really awesome that this takes place. I have never heard about it until now but like you said, regardless of feelings on war, the children do deserve great chances!
