WELCOME HOME!-Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) returns to Dillon, Texas as a head coach, a father and a husband. After too much time away from Tami (Connie Britton) and his new baby, Taylor decides that Dillon High is the place for him to coach football. It will not be an easy homecoming for Taylor. He has to deal with a disheveled team, led by the conflict between quarterback, Matt Saracen, (Zach Gilford) and star running back, Smash Williams (Gaius Charles). Meanwhile, Tim Riggins (Taylor Kitsch) turns to Lyla (Minka Kelly) for help in changing Jason Street’s (Scott Porter) mind about experimental surgery. Also, Landry (Jesse Plemons) finds out that the only thing he does actually control in his life is football. Also starring Aimee Teegarden and Adrianne Palicki.

the murder storyline is the only down part of the episode, i wish they never put that in the mix

Woa. Matt was AMAZING in this episode. It's about damn time Julie realized how horrible she was being to him. Srsly.

Jason/Lyla/Riggins = OT3. Amazing. The three of them together... amazing... (esp. Riggins and Jason "I love you" - when Tim said that I nearly died. And am I the only one who melts when he says "yadda yadda yadda. Fact."? Srsly, its HOT. Hee.)

I loved Tim so much in this episode. All the stuff with Jason was just love, love, love. He totally broke me with how scared he was for Jason (in his own Riggins way) and, of course, the I love you. :heart:

The end scene with the three of them..I felt like I was watching a PG version of Y Tu Mama Tambien. :lol:

So glad Matt realized he's still not over what Julie did to him. I loved what he said to her at the end and he has a right to be pissed. She got bored with him and went to play with her shiny new Swede and when it didn't work out, she expects Matt to still be there waiting? Nope.

I liked seeing Landry get his moment. But the stuff wondering if Landry and Tyra would be together if "it" hadn't happened - which "it" did they mean? Because his dad said they started getting together around the time the body washed up, I think? Or did they mean the almost rape? hmm.

Alrighty I watched this episode 3 times this week!!!

Tim and Jason moments were great and add in Lyla.

When Tim had that heart to heart on the Booze Cruise with Jason what a moment.
Then when Jason went overboard and realized he wanted to live.

How can you say what fantastic writting from beginning to end -Patrick Massett (writer) &John Zinman (writer) this is the first episode of this season they wrote

State- Black Eyes and Broken Hearts - Git'er Done episode season 1.


Also without these great writers you cant have actors with fantastic performances that is why I support the WGA strike.

Tammy and Eric and the whole GREEN LIGHT storyline fantastic. THis is the Taylor couple I loved from season 1.

Matt finally getting a set of balls and telling Julie how he felt absolute great scene and perfect Matt character.

Also Matt/Smash combo from working together, to coach chilli to them ridding the bench and hating it to making up!!! I still love last year Tim/Jason/Smash/Matt football field brokeback scene so it took me back to the fab 4 and hope we see some more of that soon.
