CBS has cemented its lineup for next season, renewing 11 series in a move that will bring back 10 hours of the network’s prime-time schedule and eight of the top 20 scripted series on television.

Series getting the greenlight include dramas “Cold Case,” “Criminal Minds,” “CSI,” “CSI: Miami,” “CSI: NY,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “NCIS,” “Numb3rs” and “Without a Trace.” Among sitcom fare, both “Two and a Half Men” and freshman series “The Big Bang Theory” earned new seasons.

The network previously announced that “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race” would return as well.

The pickups do leave a number of series in the dark on their fates for the 2008-09 season, including “How I Met Your Mother” and “The New Adventures of Old Christine” on the comedy side and “Moonlight” among the dramas.

A CBS representative said no decisions had been made on those shows for next fall, noting episodes for series such as “How I Met Your Mother” had received orders to complete the strike-shortened season.

So...Moonlight still has an undecided fate. I can't understand why considering the good ratings and the People's Choice Awards. I'm really starting to think that these people have serious issues. I really hope they are only waiting to see the audience of the other 4 episodes they've ordered for this season to make a decision.

This means we have to do something. Many fans I know have already started to write letters and emails to CBS, telling them how much we love ML and demanding a second season. So do whatever you can and tell your friends who watch Moonlight to help too! We can't take the risk of not having it renewed.

I didn't know if this was the right place to post this, but I needed it to draw attention so that more people can read it.

Here's a link to the Feedback section in the CBS' website. I think it's a good start if fans send a lot of messages.

I love this show. I hope that they will keep Moonlight for more episodes.

Oh no, I love this show so I hope it is renewed, it would be awful if it wasn't. They should give it a chance, because there are a lot of fans out there, so I hope it does get renewed.

Fall TV: Moonlight Has Drawn its Last Blood

It's the news no one here wanted to report, but alas, it must be shared. CBS — which earlier today renewed to Old Christine, How I Met Your Mother and The Unit — has opted not to bring back Moonlight for a second season.

Though the vampire-detective drama boasted a fantastically passionate and wonderfully generous (they held a blood drive, people!) fan base, the buzz is that the Eye simply was not happy with Moonlight's retention of its Ghost Whisperer lead-in. At last tally, Mick & Co. were letting slip some 13 percent of Melinda's audience.

For what little it is worth, I'm on a mission to secure for fans some parting words of appreciation from the cult hit's producers. (Alas, Alex himself is currently on holiday.) — MWM

Are you serious?! Gah. This sucks.

Any chance of another network picking it up? I doubt it.

It's frustrating when shows get cut short...not having a proper, definitive ending.

What bugs me most is I'm sure the writer's didn't write it thinking 'this might be the end'...so what if they leave Beth/Mick up in the air? That'll piss me off the most.

*joins you*

I wouldn't say Moonlight was "OMG the best show ever" but I think it had a good fan-base and was worth a second season.

Seriously the Mick/Beth thing is what bugs me the most...if it's written like a season finale for them, with things ending up in the air because they were planning for a second season, that will majorly suck.

Plus I'll miss Jason too. He did a good job on the show.

Well I'm not much into spoilers, but I did read that since they didn't know if they would be picked up they did an ending that wasn't like a cliffhanger but probably left a little bit of a loose end..we won't know until it airs, will we? I hope it's a proper ending. I hope we at least get that :( but I doubt it

Oh nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooo :crying:

I can't believe this :(

Moonlight had so much potential. Seriously....they renewed Old Christine and not Moonlight? Ughhh I hate these people. Most of my favorite shows get canceled.

I hope all their shows have really low audiences and they break

The Mick/Beth storyline is going to end just like that with nothing conclusive.

I am really upset, I mean they didn't give it more of a chance, and I need my Mick/Beth fix! :crying:
They better not leave it in a cliffhanger those bug me the most when they don't come back and we never get a proper ending...

and Jason, I am going to miss seeing him on my television each week as Josef!

WHY would they cancel a show that has Jason Dohring in it? Seriously! Who doesnt love him? Its impossible not to love him!

The stupid strike made everything so much worse. We could have at least gotten about 7 more episodes :(

I really really hope the "ending" is not a cliffhanger. I hate this so much. It's Tru Calling happening to me all over again :(

Moonlight being cancelled is complete crap ! CBS rears it's ugly head AGAIN and cancels a really good show ! Honestly I don't think that CBS knows what a good show is anymore.

And, you know that it can't have a ending that we can be happy with. So, agravated right now :pissed:

It really sucks that it had to end like that.

I'm really trying to remain hopeful that some other network like CW or USA will pick it up. I know the fans have been going crazy trying to get that to happen. But I also don't want to get my hopes up. :(

Hey Moonlight Fans  I hope it's okay to post this here but if not I will delete it...

Okay so there's this new show that came out on HBO last Sunday. It's called True Blood and it's set in a world where vampires have "come out of the coffin" so basically they're known to the humans. Obviously there's alot of controversy because of that. On a smaller scale there's this small town called Bon Temps in Louisiana where Sookie Stackhouse meets the vampire Bill Compton.

A bunch of us are trying to get all the vampire fanbase under this show. They were expecting around 2.8 million viewers at the premier but there was only 1.4 million and lately a bunch of vamp shows have getting axed. So we're doing this in support of all vampire shows. I know some of you might be more book readers and movie goers but we could use the extra help. Though, i do need to mention that it is pretty graphic.

Here's some links, if you want to give the show a try...

Same here. So many shows get canceled before they even have a chance to get much of a fan-base.
