I just started reading New Moon.. poor Bella.
The scene that KILLED me was when her father said either get back to your normal life or move home with your mother. Then she goes out with Jess and walks over to she thinks is the same group of guys who tried to attack her a little less than a year before that. When she hears Edward's protective voice wash over her, telling to to turn around and stay back.. I literally cried. Was it really him? Or was it her mind imagining so? Thats the thing about books they are so hard to tell whether or not things are true or in the mind. I'm glad we can kind of choose, I like to think it was him.. but still what a powerful Bella moment. She was so happy to hear his voice, but as it faded.. she wanted to fade as well.

I wonder what gave her the strength to actually walk up to those guys at the bar? She didnt care anymore.. she wanted to see if Edward would come and rescue her. I think I fell in love with her a little bit more after reading that.

I think that the character of Bella is a bit whiny (although Kristen makes her seem less). My friends and I talk about this all the time. We all agree that Bella is a little slow (sorry all the people who like her).

i adore bella too. she's my absolute favorite character in the series because she's the heart. (of course i'm smitten by edward and he's a very close second to bella. but it's almost like i can feel bella. ) anyway they're so meant for eachother, it's like they are eachother's other half...

As much as I appreciate the love she and Edward have for each other, there were parts in New Moon and Eclipse that made me so irritated by her character. I liked her very much in Twilight and Breaking Dawn, but jeez, those two middle books made me want to reach into the pages and shake some sense into her lol
