OMG I loved that Ianto/Jack at the end of his flashback. Poor Ianto, he started crying. I'm guessing this is because he's finally got Lisa a way into torchwood but he felt something towards Jack. Poor him <3 <3 <3

I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. Go to iTunes and do a search for "American Theatre Wing" and they have a whole series of audio interviews you can download for free. The ones I've listened to have been very interesting.

I don't want to plant any spoilers for people who haven't seen "Exit Wounds," but... Oh. My. God. Holy. S**t.

It was a really good episode, but heartbreaking.

Owen wasn't a huge surprise, due to his condition this season, but I never saw the other one coming.

The tears were pouring down my face at the end, especially over Tosh's recording.

So what's next?

I find the writing a little uneven. Some episodes are great, others are okay. They do have plot holes sometimes. "Exit Wounds" had an interesting twist on time travel.

Yes, Owen is odd-looking. Sometimes I like his character, other times he's just obnoxious. I read an interview with him, though, that made me like Burn as a person. He sounds like someone I'd get along with.

Anoez! When I saw the pre-recorded message I was literally in tears; although I laughed when she said "Hope it was impressive - not crossing the road or an incident with a toaster." Over Toshiko, yes I prefer them killing off Gwen.. She doesn't do much except get emotional and take over Jack's job when he's not available. But out of the whole team, I wish they killed off Gwen and Ianto instead of Tosh and Owen; I don't really like Ianto, not because I'm jealous and any of that crap, but because it doesn't do anything really =/

I'll admit that I cried a little. I had heard the rumours that some of the cast wouldn't be coming back but it was still a shock when it actually happened. Tosh totally broke my heart, especially her taped message. "I hope I did good." So sad. :( Burn and Naoko were fabulous. I wasn't an Owen fan much during season one but I liked him a lot this season (maybe because they got him away from Gwen) and I'm sad to see them both go.

If only it had been Gwen! :lol:

Has a third series even been ordered yet? I haven't heard anything official which makes me wonder what's going on...

I don't understand all the animosity towards Gwen, but to each his own, and and Ianto seems to be one who people either love or hate, very strong feelings. The one I didn't like at first was Owen, but he seemed to mellow a bit, and then finding out right at the end what he went through with his fiancée made me understand his womanizing and his attitude. Going back to season one, too, he really loved Diane and her flying off without him broke his heart again, I think.

Now Rhys is an active part of the team, and we're seeing a lot more of Andy, who really wants to be part of Torchwood, but I don't think he has the skills they need. Perhaps Martha Jones will come back as medic, at least for a while.

It'll be a nice idea to have Martha as medic, even if temporary, she's really good and I was kinda sad they threw her off Doctor Who.
I don't HATE Ianto, but it's just he doesn't do much imo .. Or maybe I just haven't seen enough Torchwood eps..

Yeah, it really made my heart sink when Owen was screaming and Tosh said he was breaking her heart. It was actually quite sweet when he apolgoised. Did Owen/Tosh say "I love you" to each other at the end? I remember Tosh did? I don't mean in the message, I mean when they were dying.

Yeah! I remember thatt!! When he was fighting death!!! OMG LOL WHEN HE KISSED HER I WAS LIKE -JAWDROP- AWW - Then all of a sudden he had that little thing and closed the door. I think Owen did actually like Tosh but he just never got a chance to notice her properly and since we know what causes his attitude, it's quite clear why he didn't wanna date Tosh in case he'd hurt her, etc. Their chemistry was so beautiful though

I don't know if the five episodes rumor is true, but if it is, maybe it will be longer than normal episodes or something. Because David T.'s doing "Hamlet," they are only doing some specials in lieu of a proper fifth season for "Doctor Who." I think it's nice that they aren't just jumping up trying to replace David or Jack, because they are good for the show.

I wouldn't give up on Owen or Tosh completely because we have seen Time Travel and other strange things in the show, but I think that would be a cop out.

Hm... How long is it usually till they make a new Torchwood?? I didn't watch the last series and missed out on quite a lot of series 2 'cause I didn't really know about Torchwood back then until I saw the actual show itself; which led me to become totally addicted.

Well it took about a year from series 1 to series 2. Series one ended in january last year and series 2 started january this year so we'll prob have to wait until late 08 early 09 for a new series :(

I found another forum where a guy posted that he saw James Marsters at a convention, in November, 2007, and Marsters said that he'd been asked back for series 3. Not that he couldn't still be back even if there are only a few episodes.

I'm not here to bash but I hate Catherine Tate, and that's the truth. I don't think she's funny and her show really got up my nose with her "Am I bovvered?" gag. I'm sure she's a really nice person and she's probably a great DW companion, but I'm standing with my morals that I will never watch anything she appears on. So I'm giving up DW until they change the companion cast. Btw, sorry if I offended anyone who likes CT.

Any way, I might not be coming into this thread for a week or two 'cause I need to put my head down and work on my Geography coursework which is due soon. I'll be back soon after and may work on some TW art, continuing the discussion, etc. Have fun without me :] <33

I totally agree. I guess the thing is, Owen knew he'd hurt Tosh 'cause of what happened to him in the past and he didn't wanna hurt Tosh so he didn't wanna date her, etc. But they had a kiss though! That was really cool.

When she died, she left that message on the computer. At the end of it she left Owen a message saying she loved him, but since he died before Tosh, he couldn't hear it :(

Owen just didn't want to dig too deep in the relationship, he clearly knew she loved him and he loved her in return! He was just tryna play cool and hide his love for her!

Yeah Tosh would have been the one to be there for him, but at the same I didn't want them to get together because then with Owen being undead it would be difficult for him to feel any emotions towards anyone and that would be hard on Tosh </3

TORCHWOOD star Gareth David-Lloyd is looking to crack Hollywood this summer in the same way that Hugh Laurie has become a superstar in the cult TV series House.

But the Welsh actor, who beat footballer David Beckham and movie A-lister Brad Pitt in a poll of the sexiest men in the world on an American website recently, says it does not mean the end of his character Ianto Jones in the cult BBC series.

David-Lloyd plays the geeky techno wizard in the Cardiff-based series and the on-off gay love interest of lead star John Barrowman.

But he maintains he can fit in other things around Torchwood.

He said: “I’m doing a big sci-fi convention in Toronto soon and then going to LA for 10 days to see if I can make an impact there and if there are any scripts.

“I’ve very excited but I’m trying to be realistic about it all.

“We don’t film the third series of Torchwood until the autumn so there is room to do this sort of thing in between.

“There are plenty of things I can do and carry on with Torchwood. If I could get something there, it would be nice to do a stint in Hollywood.”

Has anyone seen June 28's episode of "Doctor Who" yet? Jack, Ianto, and Gwen all had some good moments. I loved Ianto laughing at the guy on TV. Having worked in the news industry for years (and being someone jaded anyway), I can also find things to laugh at even during really bad situations and tragedies.

Just found a bit of news about the next season of Torchwood. From Digital Spy:

Speaking to Julie Gardner, it seems that Torchwood Magazine have learnt that not only are there changes in personnel, there's a change in channels, with the series moving to BBC One...

Gardner told the publication: "As you know, plans for a third series have been underway for a long time, and we now have a new producer and a new director in place, as well as brand new scripts all ready to go. It's the longest and most ambitious story we have ever made, so be prepared for some shocks and surprises!"

She added: "Life at Torchwood is never quiet or easy and the whole of Captain Jack's world is about to be turned upside down!"

Beginning filming in August for transmission in early 2009, Torchwood series 3 will also feature just 5 episodes, and only one by Russell T Davies.

Yeah, about that TARDIS sound. Captain Jack was in the Hub, downstairs, and while I could say that he probably was hearing the sound piped in from microphones above ground, what about that breeze that implied the TARDIS was right there in the room with him... and then he was all running to catch it and hanging on through Time and Space.... I didn't quite buy that, although on the whole the episode was good and the cliffhanger was classic!

Remember when Gwen had the affair with Owen, then she told Rhys about it and gave him the amnesia drug? Would you do that to someone? Tell them a deep dark secret, then drug them to forget?

I wouldn't do that. First, I would never cheat on my husband. Second, if I had some other deep dark secret, I would feel guiltier to tell him and drug him than to not tell him at all.
