The Kiterunner

I thought this book was way overrated from all the publicity and press it got. It was much more depressing than I expected. I also thought the author really brought in that ominous cloud of what was to happen to his friend too much for the first half of the book. What did you guys think?

I was recommended this book and I actually finished the novel 30 minutes before I watched the movie.
I didn't know about the rave so I came into this with no pre-conceptions.
I didn't even know what it was about.
I adored this book. It was a depressing tale and shocking and though I didn't exactly ENJOY the read - I was glad I had read it.
