Ok guys, STOP!!! I had my big angry moment yesterday but now it's time to calm down. I'm not gonna sign the petition cause 1: Let's face it, what's done is done, and 2: I kinda just wanna deal with it instead of being pissed until July 17th.
We all know WB is a business, they will do whatever they need for money and for money cases, they actually did a good move. Think about it: DK is gonna hit the 500 million mark just in the USA. That's HUGE! They just had this huge blockbuster in 2008, they kicked every studio's ass by far this summer, but they have nothing big for 2009 thanks to the writer's strike. So why have HP in 2008- when they know it's always a huge hit- when they can save it for 2009, and let that be their movie for the summer? So they have good amounts of money both years? It's all business! Though they completely screwed this fans over, (Late notice much?) business wise they did the right thing.

Now don't get me wrong, I am still pissed and upset like hell, (We still have to wait 11 months???) but I am just gonna get over it and perhaps just read my HBP book instead. :shrugs:

Serious is the last thing I'd call this decision =D. And LMAO, I went to Oclumencia to see if they changed the countdown and in fact they did. It now says "A LOT OF TIME until HBP" :lol:.

But yeah, next July is the beginning of a new commercial year and they feel pretty safe with 2008 and maybe not so much with 2009 (not to mention they must realize how awful the promotion for HBP was). It's showbiz, the heads behind such choices are thinking about money, and I'm too old to act like that's absurd (even if it bugs me), but this particular move was really screwed up. Strike was months ago, they knew TDK was gonna be big, they know how their other productions are going and they know this fandom. They had time to make this huge decision and still, the announcement from hell hits the public a few after they released a teaser and opening dates, 3 months before it was coming out, with the simple excuse they want to make more money?

We are consuming the product, we are making the buzz, we got promised something and are not getting it for ridiculous, if not disrespectful, reasons. The fans have all the right to be pissed, to complain and respond however the hell they want.

Have you guys been keeping up with the script guy? Supposedly H/G's first kiss in the ROR (Prob the clip we saw a long time ago) and hopefully kiss again afterwords. He also said Ginny has a very large role and H/G's part of the movie is bigger than the book. What do we think?

Well I have no issues with the kiss scenes. I still wish they would've kept the original after Qudditch kiss but I'm not that big of a shipper and they've changed everything anyway. as long as they don't have more H/G scenes than the a lot of the other central plots I'm okay..like the stuff they keep with Dumbledore/Snape/Voldermort/etc...I mean we don't have a lot as it is :( :lol: no Gaunts or DD's funeral or anything. I think the movie will have enough of the main romance/action/general plots it should even out but I have no idea.

As a huge fan of the books I have found myself getting more and more disappointed by all the changes in the movies and especially in Michael Gambon’s portrayal of Dumbledore who is my favorite character. That being said I was really pleasantly surprised by this movie. Many of the changes were actually entertaining and Gambon has improved enough to be tolerable. It was so much better than Order of the Phoenix. Overall I really enjoyed this movie and can not wait to see it again.

The H/G seemed a bit overboard though, I love that we're seeing Ginny, but it wasn't like an epic!romance in HBP it was like a normal teenage couple ;).
