Yikes! I just typed a whole reply and it disappeared - I hope this doesn't post 2x...

There is a city that was built underground because of some emergency. The people who live there don't know that there is an "above ground." They were supposed to come up long ago and now the city is breaking down. A young woman & her friend start to discover clues about the city, but the mayor is trying to stop them. If they don't figure everything out the city will fail and everyone will die trapped underground.

Bill Murray plays the wicked mayor, and should be very funny. I don't know the other actors.

I saw the trailer and it looked good. I wonder about the kids playing the lead. I never heard of them. Fingers crossed.

This definitely sounds promising as to the story. I also haven't heard of the actors in the leads but that doesn't always count for much anyway. I'll have to watch for this one.

The girl in the leading role doesn't look/sound at all familiar. Is she a new face?

I really liked the book!

According to IMBD she's been in two Irish TV shows, one which came to the US-Proof. Also she was in Atonement! Totally saw her in the press circuit for that!

The boy seems less known. One UK TV show and a few movies.

Just a few more days until Ember opens. I saw a bit of an interview with Bill Murray. He was supposed to be talking up the movie, but all he discussed was his divorce. Hope the movie is good.

I saw the movie today. The cast was just the way I pictured them in the books. The set was unbelievable - they did an incredible job. The movie was good too - I wondered how much sense it would make to someone who didn't read the book first. They left out quite a bit of detail. There is one scene that looks ready-made for a theme park ride - looked like fun.
