This thread will not have my signature in-depth recaps. I'm getting carpal tunnel.... That said, if anybody is watching, let's dish & rant here.:)

With the out of control airline prices and outrageous homeland security guidelines, I didn't go anywhere this summer so I am definitely vacationing vicariously through the Amazing Race....

*the brother/sister team gives me hives

**the mom/son pair are cute

***the fraternity brothers are real average Joes and I love them! I KNEW IT!!!! I KNEW the question was going to be "How many steps did you climb?" Those knuckleheads. They should have picked the Cargo Rope because they could have passed a slower team on the climb down & it seemed that the boat was closer to the Cargo Challenge. Whew! They almost lost it all.

****that old Bee Keeper Couple was spectacular! those hippies were so cool. They were so...BEAUTIFUL I loved how they kissed & supported each other on the way down the cargo rope. Not surprised that they are the 1st ones gone BUT still sorry to see them go.

******Terrence & Sara-the dating couple- appeared sweet at first but then Terrence got scary possessive/jealous when Sara started being friendly with others; and then Sara slowly became a talkaholic ... and then they both evolved into vicious competitors who OUTPLAYED themselves a lot by rushing past signs & flags that couple freaked out in record time

******* Mark & Gil-proud adult geek boys-they ARE the frat boys, just 15 years later, so I wish them luck

********* the long distance daters could grow on me...

That's all for me. Everybody else was just a blur or they didn't stand-out to me. That's not totally true, those 2 girl/girl teams both make me itch. The blondes and the divorcees... Could care less about these chicks.

This season, there isn't any teams that I dislike, yet. Last season, there were only a couple teams that I liked. There isn't anybody yet that I'm rooting for yet though.

:pissed: Totally pissed that Tina & Ken stole Mark & Bill's RoadBlock technique and slipped ahead to get the win. DAMN!!!! My guys were soooooo close.

Nick, from the bro/sis team, is a major prick who distracted, slowed down, & lied to all the other teams to try to get help BUT once he finally figured out the clue, he screwed the Frat Brother team to get ahead. :fire: I hope those dudes get payback, and soon.

Was it just me or did it seem like most of the teams had nervous breakdowns? :wtf: All they needed to do was SLOW DOWN, BREATHE, READ THE CLUE, and LOOK FOR THE SIGNS BEFORE THEY RAN OFF A CLIFF....

For example:

Aja & Ty- need to slow down!!! they lost a lot of time rushing past exits & clues

Marissa & Brooke- so busy trying to sneak & use other teams for free directions, wound up follwoing another team to the wrong challenge/obstacle and alomost wiped themselves out physically & emotionally doing something they didn't really want to do; KNUCKLEHEADS!!!!

Mark & Bill- outstanding grace under pressure!!!! :cheer:they chose the quiet "weak" detail oriented obstacle and was in the lead until the wicked witch showed up....

Tina & Ken- Tina was obnoxious, telling everybody she arranged for the 1st palne ride; she tried helping only herself and accidently helped everybody; no one is going to kiss your ass, get over it!!! :etongue:

Kelly & Christy- totally psyched themselves out during the 1st obstacle on the beach!!! :wtf:Didn't they notice how NO ONE ELSE was digging a hole to China?:drunk:Then they neglected to read their clue, AGAIN!!!! Then they almost lost their taxi BUT wasted time looking for a taxi that was parked right behind them:bang:

Terrence & Sara- completely hacked their legs off at the knee by getting so excited with their lead that they ran away from the taxi stand for almost a mile then they had to run back to the taxi stand, watching at least 4-5 teams passing them by ....GOOD GRAVY!!!!:no:

Anthony & Stephanie- were last and got sent home; I barely remember them except that I always hate when couples get on the show and announce that they have everything they want in the relatioship, except $1 million dollars so they can't get married unless they win...:lame: What a dumbass excuse. :rolleyes2 I'd appreciate just an honest, we want the loot and will probably split it 50/50 after the win. Nobody needs a million to get married...NO ONE

Terrence really annoys me. Sara seems nice enough, but I don't like him. I like the show this season though. Some really stupid mistakes being made.

10/12/08 episode

Ken & Tina-1st AGAIN!, they DO have skills, but I still don't like ya :etongue:

Mark & Bill-my beloved geek guys-they were cursed from the giddy-up,They screwed up doing the 1st challenge because they rode a taxi instead of walking so ended up having the 30 minute penalty at the very end of the race; that wouldn't have been a probelm BUT they totally SUCKED at the 2nd wrestling obstacle/roadblock which they had to do 3 times before they got it right, so they came in 2nd to last but got pushed to the LAST, 9th spot, :crying:

Terence & Sara- they took a taxi too but caught their mistake, double backed and managed to stay in the game, then they accidentally went to a soccer match instead of the wrestling obstacle YET they still managed to beat a few teams to the ring and came in 3rd overrall!!! Lucky Ducks!!!!

Aja & Ty-Why did Aja get involved in the bullshit between Nick& Starr VS Kelly&Christy? Stupid Move!! :down:

Toni & Dallas- Mom & Son came in 2nd :applause:

Nick & Starr- the bro & sis team came in 6th but still managed to piss off the paranoid petty divorcees

Kelly & Christy- the stupid Bra Controversy was...stupid,:wtf: the girls got excellent karma when they fell a lot during the bike race and got passed by EVERYBODY!:lol: they WERE last and should have been sent home but the geek guys really screwed up...

Andrew & Dan-my frat boys did excellent until they took an awful taxi to the finish and got passed by almost everyone during the last leg, came in 7th overall :nohope:

the blondes-sorry, forgot their names :blush: , sucked as usual at both obstacles but caught a great taxi in the end and came in 4th place!!!!

YES! This show is fast, fun and entertaining. :popcorn:

So for anybody who missed it:

Ken & Tina-did the Fast Forward which was uber tough, they EARNED that 1st place win this week


Okay, the final Detour was a bitch! :eek: The choice was make kiwi juice (using the I Love Lucy Italian episode style) OR make & race a bike using sails

Either way, our beloved racers were screwed and suffered major setbacks as a result.

Toni & Dallas-did juice but they sucked and had to double back and do the bikes instead but they burned rubber and kicked ass- 4th place

Terence & Sarah-did the juice and coasted to 2nd place, excellent race for them the whole episode, who knew?

Marissa & Brooke-AKA The Blondes-did the juice,forever......................, they were sent home,no surprise there BUT they do get points for not giving up :up: A+ for effort

Aja & Ty-Poor Ty, he's too good for Aja, I didn't appreciate her hitting him, even if playfully, basically she can be a whiny bitch,:down:BUT they do seem to be trying to work on their partnership & they made up (a few times) throughout the race;the flat tire during the 1st leg of the race didn't help things, then they started the juice thing but gave up and almost falied the bike thing but finally these two came in 7th place WHEW!

Nick & Starr-failed at juice and while doing the bike race, Starr wiped out and seriously hurt her arm :crying:But she sucked it up and those two came in 5th

Dan & Andrew-they struggled, as usual, and came in 6th place

Kelly & Christy-AKA the divorcees-did the juice and aced it!?!, team #3

I love this show. it's amazing how many smart people make the same stupid mistakes each season. read the clue completely, how hard is that.

I really like this show even though in previous seasons I haven't watched it religiously or anything. If I knew how to read a map I would totally try to be on this show haha.

But as for this season, I think Starr and Nick are devious and sneaky and I don't really like them although they are playing to win. Terrence is weirdddd and Sarah is funny when she said "they didn't even say hi" like it was a crime or something. The Southern Belles were funny but lasted longer then I thought they would.

Ken & Tina-struggled with the basketball in the 1st challenge & Tina walked right past the clues at the Temple Road Block; I guess she doesn't come off as approachable because no one offered to really help her while the other teams got lots of support from bystanders, But Tina does not come off as a damsel in dsitress (personally I think it's all that heavy scary eyeliner) :eek:
4th place

Terrence & Sarah-got stopped by the cops for speeding to the airport!!! then their boat broke down during the 1st obstacle; but they got lucky in the end and came in 3rd place

Kelly & Christy-started doing the detour before they even got the clue-knuckleheads-basically they got lost, again, but they're 5th

Toni & Dallas-kicked some major ass and came in 2nd!!! :thumbsup:

Aja & Ty- started out last and NEVER recovered, SENT HOME; BUT they seemed deeply in love and they held hands for nearly the whole epsiode (which probably slowed them down) :inlove::mo:Love Birds to the end, Good Luck Guys!:wave:

Nick & Starr-breezed through the obstacles, Starr's arm seems fine, they almost screwed themselves by 2nd guessing themselves & slowing down during a truck race but Nick, of course, was excellent during the temple roadblock and got help to find the clue,(this guy doesn't even hesitate to ask for help while other players waver & stumble blindly for minutes before finally asking for assistance, NOT Nick, he asks 1st as a rule, Good Strategy!)
1st place, FINALLY, some new leaders :applause:

Andrew & Dan-my frat bros really sucked at the gas pump & basically almost went home, 6th place:director: :drunk: Dudes, wake up!

I'm glad Christy and Kelly left. They didn't learn the first 23409834 times to read the clue so I have no sympathy for them. I think Andrew and Dan are the next two to go.

Nick & Starr- were oustanding as usual and still #1

Terrence & Sarah- Terence was a MAJOR PRICK while Sarah was painting the car, they were losing steam but got a good taxi and came in 4th

Toni & Dallas- Dallas was flirting with Starr. NO!!!!! She & Nick will use him like a fast food napkin and discard him without a thought. 3rd place

Ken & Tina-they got lost going to the 1st challenge and never recovered. Tina was a big nag (as usual); Ken made up time at the roadblock BUT their taxi sucked liked rotten eggs!!!! LAST PLACE..... But of course they were NOT eliminated...

Andrew & Dan-they were in the lead but lost it looking for a taxi; these guys lost a lot of time while ironing (weak performances guys) I know frat boys do wash & wear but couldn't they have bumped out some wrinkles quickly for say...$1 million!?!, 5th place

Kelly & Christy- #2- well, all they had to do was ironing....finally something they understand

***the 1st RoadBlock was VERY physical and kind of dangerous;
-find the clue in the middle of an Indian "Holi Festival" that seems to be a rudimentary paintball course BUT instead of paint the people throw globs of powdered dye or they shoot it with bazzokkas or rocket launchers :wtf:
-unlike America, you don't wear safety goggles, so most of the people get shit in their eyes, up their nose, in their ears and in their mouths :cussing:
-even worse and MORE DANGEROUS, the clues were suspended up in a hook above some ladders that needed to be climbed:down::down::down:

The 2nd task- to find the clue in a poop filled bird cage wasn't bad at all or even that messy

The last Detour was a hoot. Count tags on power lines versus Work grinding hot chilli peppers


Nick & Starr- OUTSTANDING with everything. still #1

Terence & Sarah-Terence did the paintball & bitched a lot afterwards and then humilated Sarah with bird poop to make himself feel better...Then they did the hot spices and both whined too much (luckily the editors cut them out until they were done, I guess even the camera people can't stand them)
3rd place (I can't stand this couple. :argue:)

Toni & Dallas-EXCELLENT!!!! 2nd place, soooooo close

Ken & Tina-both Ken & Tina got completely trashed in paintball, their Speed Bump was super easy, just giving holy water to people at a temple BUT I think they were accidentally disrespectful because they were rushing the people & shoving the water at them; trying to incorparate spirituality/prayer into a race challenge is kind of stupid (producers, PLEASE don't do that again)
THEN the duo got stuck in traffic and literally got out the taxi and physically pushed cars/carts/people/animals/bikes out of their way!!! :lol: They passed two teams doing the power line detour, now in 4th place- :up:plus they earned some good karma by actually helping Andrew & Dan

Andrew & Dan- were fine until the Detour; they screwed up with the power lines, they were looking at store signs!?!? Luckily & Strangely- Ken & Tina explained what to do after they raced past them- 5th place- these guys are so NOT going to win this :no:

Kelly & Christy-Kelly did the actual paintball task and she did get attacked but then again, so did everybody else...She didn't have to stop 4 to 5 times or go up & down the ladder like a lunatic instead of just staying on the ladder until she found clue, then at the detour- they did the power line task but lazily didn't get out the taxi until like the 2nd or 3rd time to actually look up at all the wires. They also were just grabbing any number they saw from signs, doors, etc. They did it OVER & OVER & OVER & OVER & OVER & OVER
Finally they came in last and were SENT HOME. Girls, you should have gone to New York, went shopping, drank some cocktails and had a Sex & The City experience instead. Was all that humilation, drama, and embarassment really necessary? :shrugs:

The 1st Roadblock was walking thru a live chickern factory to search for a golden egg. It was pretty easy

The Detour was PLAY VERSUS ACT
**Play- go learn a musical instrument & play a tune in a park
**Act-walk around in a two piece cow suit & drink milk & deliver your costume to a butcher, EVERYBODY picked this one...

Nick & Starr-did the FAST FORWARD which was the gross Indiana Jones Temple of Doom gross-out feast re-enactment, which included eating brains, tongues, ears, etc. but they succeeded- 1st place

Toni & Dallas-at the Detour, they made a few mistakes but came in 2nd place

Terence & Sarah-tried FAST FORWARD but Terence announced he's a vegetarian so he couldn't eat the food so they had to doubleback and do the RoadBlock...good effort but LAST PLACE, SENT HOME

Andrew & Dan-these guys suck!!!!! they moved thru the chicken coop in slow motion, they got lost trying to find the DETOUR, they argued over who would be the ass of the cow....Dudes, relax, you're both ASSHOLES! :tongue: Then they read the clue to the pitstop wrong, took a taxi when they should have walked so they had to doubleback & walk and they got LOST :wtf:, again, returning to the Pit Stop (I really thought/wanted these knuckleheads to go home) but they came in 4th place

Ken & Tina-their big mistake was not delivering their cow costume to the butcher so they had to doubleback to get the suit on AGAIN...but they came in 3rd place

:pissed:1st clue was racing into a monastery; GOD! I hate when they do all that rushing into a sacred place. AWFUL IDEA! Bad producers!

RoadBlock-Holy Cow! One partner must unload 5o heavy 50 pound bags of flour to a bakery

DETOUR- Boots VS Borscht- either learn how to dress & march like a soldier OR feed 75 soldiers hot bowls of stew while wearing soldier's uniform

Nick & Starr-FELL TO LAST PLACE with a really bad taxi ride and they NEVER really recovered... :crying:they switched taxi cabs, they stopped and asked directions, they jumped out of taxis and tried running, they tried EVERYTHING but NOTHING WORKED, they did the tasks with no problem but whenever they caught up thru grit & effort, the their taxi would get lost or stuck in traffic... now in 3rd place

Toni & Dallas-Dallas almost killed himself lugging those bags of flour two at a time but all that hard work paid off- 1st Place!!!! HURRAY! Go Dallas! He loves his Momma!!! :cheer::D:applause:

Andrew & Dan-these guys started without shows because they left their shoes with the cow cosutmes in the last episode:bang:...they bought some at the airport (dumb, everything is super expensive at the airport) so they had little money to pay for taxi cabs this leg of the race...they're in Moscow, Russia and there's no haggling about fares there...at the DETOUR Andrew had serious problems with putting on the boots so they quit and tried to do Borscht BUT they had to wear the uniform to serve food so once they got the clothes on, they went back to do the marching, BUT Dan walked like an idiot!!!!! He couldn't march in a straight line like a 5 yr old playing soldier. :nohope: THESE GUYS REALLY REALLY SUCK!!!! It's pretty pathetic. So they went back to serve the borscht... After about 5 hours, it seems, they got to do the Roadblock and Dan actually volunteered to save face & do penance, what set them back even further was the BIG ARGUMENT with their taxi driver at the Pit Stop because they didn't have enough money to pay the complete fare. Needless to say, LAST PLACE but those lucky bastards...NOT ELIMINATED but have to do SPEED BUMP before tyring to catch up next week. These guys can't even walk in a straight line without 15 tries.....:etongue:

I noticed that Toni seemed EXHAUSTED at the beginning of the episode, so tired that she made Dallas do the statue task even though he said he couldn't do it. Toni wouldn't suck it up and do the challenge so they lost. But I'm glad Toni did get tough and tried to help them beg for money & maybe win 3rd place. And she totally supported her son without malice or bitterness. Overall, one of my favorite teams of all time!!!!:cheer::cheer::cheer:

If anything, Dallas shouldn't have helped Tina. She was clueless and they figured it out/guessed TOGETHER.

Was there ever any doubt? Kind of weak with a little suspense. :yawn: Andrew & Dan weren't even close. Too bad Toni & Dallas weren't there to make it mildly interesting.

That last matching picture postcard travelogue trivia game was so boring/tedious and painful to watch...:sleep:

I'm from Romania. I'm saying that they came here filming for the next race because the teams were seen at the beginning of November at the airport, at the central train station and there were reports that they went to Dracula's Castle for tasks ;)

I enjoy this show more for the Social Studies and History aspect than for the racing and competition. Easily integrated into classroom studies.
