Reminder of the spamming rule.
- No Spamming. Spamming is in no way allowed at Fanbolt. Spamming includes any post that is made only to increase your post count – such as only posting smilies, one or two word posts, etc...
-Please also refrain from double posting; use the 'edit post' button where needed.
If you have any questions concerning this, please feel free to contact me or one of the other mods (Patti Jo, Lizzie, Crashdown Mommy, or Jon)

I am closing this thread, but keeping it as a sticky. Spamming is any post that does nothing more than bump up you post count, and thats what you guys are doing here.

A lot of the threads we have are not being used. There are so many shipper/character appreciation threads that are just sitting at the bottom of the forum. If you change the settings at the bottom of the board to go back 45 or 60 or 100 days, you can see them. I don't want to close them because they're popular threads on other boards so I know people are still interested. The Lit thread is down there, the Trories, and a bunch of others.
Before you start a new thread, please think about whether your question or subject can fit into one of the existing threads. It's better to keep those threads going than have a board filled with threads that have only a few posts each.
If you have a random question that can probably be answered without generating a lot of discussion, post it in the random question thread (http://www.fanbolt.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=8332). An example would be a yes or no question or "who plays the troubadour?" and questions like that

Heather, I hope you don't mind me reopening this thead so I can post this. I didn't want to start a new thread to say the same thing that's already been said.
This is becoming a problem again. Lately I've noticed a series of one or two line posts carrying on a conversation between two or three people in multiple threads. This needs to stop. Posts should be relevant to the majority of the posters. If it's off-topic, take it to the off-topic thread and if you want to just one person, especially if it's off-topic, take it to PMs or AIM.
I'm not trying to be mean or single anyone out, but when a very small number of people carry on personal conversations, it makes it hard for other people to join in. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the board.
I'm going to close this again so please PM me if you have any questions.

A note on signatures. I have noticed, that several member's signatures are way too big. You either need to limit what you put, or resize your images.
If you're not sure if this applies to you, here's a simple way to find out. If you need to scroll down the page, just to get through you sig, it needs to be edited.
If you have any questions on this, just PM me, or jennarose.

It's been almost a month now and the off-topic posting and spamming is still a problem. Please be considerate of other posters, the mods, and the site owners when you're posting.
Heather wrote this in one of the threads:
The OT topic needs to stop. We have an OT thread for that. Several members in this board, are using the GG forum like IM, and thats not why its here. If you want to talk to each other thats, fine. But the amount of threads that Jena and I have had to close and make continuation threads for, has gotten ridiculous. If you guys want to talk about things in your life, things not related to GG, do it on IM, not in here. It uses up bandwith, and Emma and Noah pay to make this site running.

Right now we have a lot of game and poll threads. We can keep the ones we have going but please don't start any new ones.

We are still having problems with off-topic posting and random/duplicate threads. I've created a new thread for Random Gilmore Girls posts that do not fall under a particular existing thead yet not sustantial enough to create a new one. In other words:
If you want to comment on how beautiful Lorelai/Lauren looks post this on the Lauren Graham Appreciation (http://www.fanbolt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16692) thread.
If you just want to comment that you think the new season ROCKS! then it makes more sense to post this in the Miscellaneous topics thread (http://www.fanbolt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17401).
This is not designed to discourage any of you from creating new threads where appropriate. I just ask that you think before creating. If you are a newbie, and are unsure feel free to PM one of the Mods: Heather, myself or Jon.
