Hello!
This is Caryn.
I'm female, if you didn't already know. I just joined this website and this is my first post ) ~exxxited~Currently I'm in highschool, I also serve as a class treasurer. In my quest to learn new things I'm frequently online.... QUESTION OF THE MONTH: What would be an easy to organize, but successful fundraiser for highschool students? (I was thinking maybe a fundraiser at the theaters, if I could only get them to donate one showing to our school.) If you can please help me out, I would be forever grateful. |

Welcome to the forums Caryn.
Well there are all sorts of things you can do for instance if you are required to wear unform in your school then you can have a day where the students can wear what they want but have to pay like say 1-2$ or we use to have "Hat day" to also collect money because we were not usally allowed to wear hats/caps in school. Also Halloween is coming up so maybe you can do something in relation to that. Having a spooky halloween dance or the showing of fav/famous halloween movie in school or some sort of activity day. Bake sales are also a good and easy way to go, car washes (but normally students do thoes kind of things in the summer...so maybe not that). The options are endless It really depends how many people are involved (helping u) what you are raising $$ for and how much money you need to raise.

The movie theater idea is really interesting. The best way to go about that would probably be to go the theater chain's website and look for corporate contact information (for example, if it was Cinemark go to the main Cinemark website). They usually make these types of decisions rather than local employees. You should write them a request letter on official letterhead from your school, which you might have to get from a teacher/official. Doesn't hurt to try, I imagine this could be a tax write-off for the theater and might encourage students to return as paying customers later (which you might mention in the letter). It's worth a shot. If they do agree they would probably want it in non-peak hours like a weekday evening or sometimes they even do it in the morning when they are not officially open and they still sell concessions to make a little money.
Good luck! |

Welcome to Fanbolt Caryn
If you need anything feel free to PM me. Have fun see you around the boards. As Kraza stated about the dress down day my girls school does that. The kids bring in a $1.00.that day. But they are not aloud to ware mini skirts etc it has to be appropriate attire. They also have a spirit week where they do things like ware their favorite sport jersey one day. another say is a crazy hat, miss matched socks, a day where they dress like a rock star.. just silly things. The kids may get a free homework pass or a bag of goodies.. etc. |

Hey Caryn and welcome to FanBolt! I'm Maddy, one of the Administrators here. Have fun and I hope to see you around! PM me if you need anything.
![]() I was class treasurer my Sophomore and Junior years of high school, and so I was involved in a LOT of fundraisers. One of the best ones we did was Celebrity Server at the local Big Boys. A lot of restaurants have different variations now, like BD's Mongolian Grill does Guest Griller days. You would just need to contact the local restaurant and fill out some paperwork. Then on a given night, your class' council and some teachers go and work! For example for Big Boy's we were either partnered up with a waitress and took drink orders and bussed tables or we worked the drink and dessert sections and got the drinks from the machine or made the desserts that were ordered. A percentage of the sales for that night and all the tips you receive go to your school. The theater idea also sounds amazing! It would definitely make your school some big bucks.

Hey Caryn, welcome to Fanbolt, I'm Priya and i hope you enjoy it here
![]() I think everyone's already answered for me, it depends on how much you wanna raise but the simple stuff is usually the best, as long as you sell it well and advertise it as much as possible
