I like him, but I can't help see him but as a parody of an Asperger's kid that I know. Personally, I wish they'd taken off from that.... Maybe it's just my POV

It's nice to see someone who has very "specific" hang-ups. My daughter is much the same way and this show makes her feel a bit more 'normal/mainstream'.

Jim Parsons, Taylor Kitsch join Ryan Murphy's 'Normal Heart'
Ryan Murphy’s upcoming adaptation of the play The Normal Heart for HBO just got more star-studded. The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons and John Carter alum Taylor Kitsch have joined Julia Roberts, Mark Ruffalo and Matt Bomer in the television movie, EW has confirmed. Parsons will portray gay activist Tommy Boatwright, reprising his role from the 2011 Broadway revival; Kitsch will play Bruce Niles, a closeted investment banker who becomes a prominent AIDS activist, according to Deadline, who originally reported the news. The television movie, based on Larry Kramer’s Tony-winning play that Kramer himself will adapt for the small screen, follows the onset of the AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 1980s. Roberts will play “Dr. Emma Brookner, the doctor who treats several of the earliest victims, while Ruffalo will portray Ned Weeks, a man who witnesses first-hand the mysterious disease that claims the lives of many. Matt Bomer (White Collar) will play a reporter who becomes Ned’s lover.” Kramer’s play debuted at New York’s Public Theatre in 1985. The 2011 Broadway revival earned Tonys for Best Revival, Best Featured Actor and Best Featured Actress. The Normal Heart will begin production later this year and hit HBO sometime in 2014.
