That is a tough one. So many books don't turn into good movies! I liked The Accidental Tourist. It was a good movie (with William Hurt) and a good book (by Anne Tyler.)

I like most book movies, I just don't think the movies are quite as good. Example: Harry Potter. However, I find myself really liking romance Victorian era book movies like Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility. And I liked the LOTR movies better than the books personally.

I thought the movie stardust and the book stardust could almost be two different stories, and I loved them both.

My fave book to movie is lord of the rings trilogy.
