Turn Coat by Jim Butcher. I love his Harry Dresden series. I just got someone at work hooked on them. (His other series is only so-so.)

City of Bones - Kathy Reichs

I'm an idiot and just realised i'm reading them out of order, so this book is annoying me, but they are actually a pretty good series

I just finished a book called Mr. Pip this morning. It was good. It is set on a Pacific Island that is going through a civil war. The only white man remaining on the island decides to keep the school open. He reads the students a chapter a day from Great Expectations. It was a good book.

Lily - If you are reading them out of order that must be annoying! Poor you. I hate when I do that.

Green Darkness by Anya Seton
It was such a great book! And knowing that most of the characters really lived years ago is fascinating.

I agree that Jim Butcher's other series isn't as good. Which is sort of a shame since (after reading his short blurb about himself in the back of books) I think he prefers to write fantasy. He is just better at the real world.

I started to read, then gave up Garrett files by Glen Cook. It had the obligatory woman wants to come on 'quest/mission', main char doesn't want her to, she gets kidnapped, he recues her, she now gets to come on mission.

Where and when does that formula ever work?! It's just annoying. And why do they have to have the most annoying female characters?! I'm sure by the end of the book they will be madly in love and I would have had to puke all over the book. Since it's a library book, I'll take it back in good shape and not read it.

Just finished The Forgotten Garden by Sarah Morten. It was a good, slow read. I reserved her first book at the library to read on my vacation next week.
