Production Notes for Burn Notice Episode 601 “Scorched Earth”
• To up the ante for the season six premiere, producers brought back the season two villain Jason Bly. Although Fiona and Bly haven’t seen each other for a while, their mutual disdain oozes from every frame of their scenes together. • There was no separation between church and state for this episode of Burn Notice as a downtown Miami Church was used to double as the interior for the federal building. • It took over a week and a half to properly plan the entire highway and truck flipping sequence for this episode. All for a stunt that lasts only seconds. • Jere Burns had shaved his mustache prior to filming this episode for another role. His appearance change had to be incorporated into the script. |

so what did everyone think of the episode? i was kinda distracted during the ep (my neices were here) so i have to rewatch it. but from what i saw it was a great episode. i liked that Fi was smart enough to figure out simply from looking at a photo that the FBI guy was lying about Michael's death

Production Notes for Episode 602 “Mixed Messages”
• To allow Director and star Jeffrey Donovan ample time to prepare his episode, this episode was actually shot before Episode 601 “Scorched Earth.” This way Mr. Donovan would not have to prepare and episode while acting in another. • Executive Producer Alfredo Barrios and Director Jeffrey Donovan scoured South Florida to find a prison whose walls were strong enough to hold Fiona. The prison they found ultimately dictated the additional sets that they built for this episode as well as form many episodes to come. • Normally known for her fashion sense, a bright orange jumpsuit was as fashionable as Fiona could get. The writing department researched federal prisons and although they found several options for women’s prisoner uniforms, this was the best-looking option. • Writing assistant Daniel Tuch personally built several models of fighting batons using salt, magazine pages, and string to ensure the accuracy of this moment in Burn Notice. Fortunately, no P.A.’s were hurt in the preparation of this episode. |

Production Notes for Episode 603 “Last Rites”
• The crew used a combination of extras, set dressing, intelligent vehicle placement, and a CGI cruise ship to turn a Miami marina into a Bermuda cruise • For a television show, shooting on a cruise ship is too difficult logistically. As a result, construction had to build all of the cruise ship sets on a stage. The crew had less than a week to build all of the interiors • Lauren Stamile, who plays Agent Pearce, showed up ready for work but sporting a little blessing; her pregnancy. The wardrobe department had to work hard to conceal Lauren’s very minimal baby bump. Congratulations Lauren!! • Burn Notice co-executive producer, writer, and actor Ben Watkins penned this episode. You can check him out in season 2, episode 6 “Bad Blood” as well as season 5, episode 14 “Breaking Point” as Michael’s childhood friend Ricky |

Production Notes for Episode 604 “Under the Gun”
• Despite the fact that actress Kristina Loken (Rebecca Lang) is totally buff, she did have some help for her push up scene. In order to allow for multiple takes, stunt coordinator Artie Malesci hooker her up to a harness to lessen the total weight of each push up. • Although an angry Rebecca kidnaps Sam while they are out in the Florida Everglades, these scenes were short primarily in Oleta State Park, which is right outside of North Miami Beach. • In order to make sure that she got the staging right when prepping her episode, director Dennie Gordon had several members of the crew act out scenes while location scouting, even having a location manager acting the part of a corpse. Production Notes for Episode 605 “Split Decision”
• The scene where Sam and Rebecca drive off of a bridge to evade police was filmed in the bay overlooking Miami Beach – a stone’s throw away from where the Miami Heat play • The Burn Notice stunt crew used tows and cabling so that the car would fly off the bridge just right. In fact, the car was more towed off a bridge than driven off a bridge • The file building where Sam and Rebecca plant information was an abandoned building in North Miami that the Burn Notice crew movie magic-ed into a police repository • Although Rebecca’s brother was supposed to have been hiding all over the U.S., photographers took surveillance photos of him in the Burn Notice studio parking lot. They just picked different backgrounds to give the impression of different geographic areas – all while avoiding putting palm trees in the frame • None other than Burn Notice stunt coordinator Artie Malesci supplied the vicious barking dog for the impound yard scene. In reality, the dog is a highly trained bilingual German shepherd with a mild temperament |
