Bravo to Joe Wilson, from the great state of South Carolina for speaking his mind during the President's speech:

Republican Congressman Joe Wilson breaks protocol by heckling Obama - Telegraph

I think it's good that members of Congress are brave enough to stand up for what they believe in. We need more politicians in the House and Senate to act like this.

I dont want to play favorites in this, but during his Presidency, GWB was called a loser and a liar by Harry Reid, and there was no public outcry from the media.

I dont fault Wilson for saying what he did...it was the truth.

I'm not even overly political but I think extremes of opinion in this country are depressing-- on both sides. There's no middle ground anymore.

And personally, I think Joe Wilson behaved in a shameful way.

Happy Constitution Day

Cheers and drinks all around in memory of the Framers.

Good article from 10th Amendment Center:

This Constitution Day, Try Something New: Ignore the Feds!*|*Tenth Amendment Center

"So whether you’re on the left, or on the right, or even somewhere in the middle, the path to freedom, the path to your political goals lies not in Washington D.C. Instead, it lies in Madison, and Jefferson (City)…and other state capitols around the country.

So this Constitution Day take a new pledge. Ignore and nullify the federal government. It’s as worthless as it is dangerous."

Here is a video of Obama teaching a Constitutional Law class:

Kids taught to praise Obama

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aqMTD5UFmU

Are we turning into North Korea here?

More fun stuff:

"A few days after President Obama’s speech, one of the members of Smart Girl Politics contacted me and was upset about something that had transpired in her daughter’s school. Her daughter, a senior in high school, had come home upset because, although the speech was not shown in her school, her anatomy teacher had made the class watch the President’s health care speech. After the video was shown, the students were given a short quiz about the speech. The questions asked gave the assumption that the answers provided in the President’s speech were fact and not opinion. The students were given no opportunity to discuss opposing views or have a debate on the topic. In fact, when one student stated that the President had lied, the student was told that kind of talk was unnecessary. Students in the class with opposing views were forced to remain silent or whisper amongst themselves.

The daughter of our member was so upset about what had occurred that she refused to finish the quiz and brought it home to her mother for review. A copy of the quiz is provided below."

The President Speaks to Our Children: Information or Indoctrination? : Smart Girl Nation

This last one is the worst of all:

Exurban League: Confirmed: Kids' Praising Obama an official public school activity

It's the school's official policy to praise Obama. Wow...you don't need a time machine to travel back to the Soviet Union.

Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize....

BBC NEWS | Europe | Obama wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

Seriously? For what?

Meanwhile, the DNC makes themselves look utterly stupid by saying this:

The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists - the Taliban and Hamas this morning - in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize," DNC communications director Brad Woodhouse told POLITICO. "Republicans cheered when America failed to land the Olympics and now they are criticizing the President of the United States for receiving the Nobel Peace prize - an award he did not seek but that is nonetheless an honor in which every American can take great pride - unless of course you are the Republican Party.

"The 2009 version of the Republican Party has no boundaries, has no shame and has proved that they will put politics above patriotism at every turn. It's no wonder only 20 percent of Americans admit to being Republicans anymore - it's an embarrassing label to claim," Woodhouse said.

Is it no wonder Republicans will win big in 2010?

Obama is a socialist, pure and simple.

He won the Nobel Peace Prize for maligning the US abroad.

He is a Commander in Chief who has abandoned our military in harms way.

He is trying to destroy capitalism in the US anyway that he can.

All we can do at this point, is hope that next November the tide turns in our favor. Americans are pissed right now. They are in open revolt... (TX is threatening to secede). Its just a matter of time until the Democrats lose power again.

Like Ive said before...we are a capitalist nation. And when you try to single handedly destroy capitalism, we get pissed.

Gore, Carter and Arafat won the Nobel Peace Prize. why not Obama? I am not suprised, lol..not suprised at all. I wonder if they would have given it to Hillary had she been president, somehow I do not think so.

Seriously....if Arafat winning that Prize is not a signal that the Nobel Committee is corrupt, I dont know what is.

And Obama was nominated for the award after being in office for 12 days. What had he done to warrant that? Other than malign the US abroad?

Atleast we can be proud that many people including black people are saying that Obama does not deserve to have won a Nobel Prize. I say that because of all the people who argue blacks are for Obama. I guess there are some that disagree, who knew?!

But really, the best line I heard was that General Petraeus deserved to win the Nobel Peace Prize more than Obama. That was the most shocking statement I have heard in a while. Perhaps our country is seeing the light? Slowly but surely......there is hope.

True...

My brother once said to me, "Those who desire peace, prepare for war."

To parallel what your brother said, I don't think people understand that to obtain peace, war is a necessary component of it. If we think back to our history as a nation, some of the most profitable, economically stable, and happy times of life were after war. I know that does not sounds pleasing to some, but that is quite the truth that a lot of people will never admit to. Some may argue war is evil, it may be evil depending on the reasoning behind it, but many times war is a necessary evil to achieve peace and happiness.

Quite true...look at the world after both World Wars.

There are times, when history calls upon us, and we have a moral obligation to take military action. Today, we live in one of those times, IMO.

Personally, I dont care how unpopular the War against Terrorism has become. I am from the NYC area. That day will forever live in my memory. And I, like our military, know exactly what we are fighting for...what we are fighting to protect.

Even if our President doesnt remember...or chooses to forget.

Everyone check this out, tell your friends. In 2010, let's send everyone in Congress a message:

SEND CONGRESS A PINK SLIP!
