Dr Who series 5 Anticipation Thread *May Contain Spoilers*

Ok we have to wait till Christmas for a new episode and this is a place where we can talk about the future of Doctor Who!

Random Comments with SPOILERS:

Doctor/Rose + Jackie...I actually loved this, I think it was fitting and romantic. At least if you don't overthink it, . But now she'll have her own Doctor to grow old with, and that's lovely.

Martha/Jack...I hope she goes to Torchwood. Jack was brilliant coming alive again and flirting with everyone.

MICKEY...OMG I love him and I love that he was there. I hope he gets a happy ending eventually.

Donna...So heartbreaking. I loved how she said, "This is really important, she saw that bloke with another guy." . I loved her grandpa though, I hate that she can't remember.

The Doctor...all alone again, like he always is. I wonder who he'll travel with next, any thoughts?

And now we wait till Christimas '08.

2 Doctors! it was hilarious! i just sish that donna didnt have to have her memory wiped.

I wonder if they'll bring in the Doctor's Daughter, Jenny, as a companion. I think she'd be a very interesting addition to the series. She was reportedly up for the role of Rose Tyler at one point, and she's reportedly dating Tennant now. Not that the Doctor ought to have that kind of chemistry with his genetic offspring, but.....

Another one I'd like to see travel with him is Sally Sparrow, from Blink, although things seemed to be working out well with Larry.

The thing is, if they're only doing specials next year, they may not select a regular companion until series five begins. I think DH said they've only ever done one episode ever where the Doctor doesn't have a companion with him. So, it could be interesting to go that way. Or they could pull in some past companions, like Capt'n Jack, Martha, or Mickey, Jenny, just temporarily, to keep him company as it were, until he finds a regular traveling companion.

DH and I have talked about the 8th Doctor, Paul McGann, and how he only had the horrible 1999 TV movie. It'd be cool to do a two-Doctors story that involves McGann and Tennant. DH has also commented on how much John Pertwee's son looks like his dad and that if you put a wig and a velvet coat on him, he could play the 3rd Doctor....

I just really hope that David stays on past the specials and into Series 5, even if he doesn't stay all season. I'm not ready to lose him just yet.

Taminar, I have to agree!! I don't think he will have a regular companion either, they may bring in some celebrity guest stars ar have someone like Mickey for them, Or he might be on his own. It was so sad what happened in the finale about Donna but the basic story of the Dr, is that he travells through time and space alone

I hope Tennant stays with the show into series 5 too!

I was thinking of Jenny too, that episode was so sad, I really hope he finds her again. It is kinda freaky that they're dating though, but I liked her she was spunky and she made the Doctor analyze himself. But it makes sense that he won't get a permanent companion yet. I'd like to see Mickey or Jack or Martha though he seems kind of picky, he always likes female companions. And yeah the point of the show I think is that he always ends up alone. Sad, but true. The infinity of time and space.

And I'm rooting for Tenant also. Anyone know how many specials will air next year? How will we stand it?

I found a website, I don't know how accurate it is or where they'd have gotten the information, but they claim that RTD has already written the three specials for next year and they revolve around Rose searching for the Doctor to correct some mistake(s) of the past. Sounds quite a bit like the last few episodes, and especially given that she now has her own Doctor on her parallel world, it doesn't seem likely that they'd bring her back yet again.

In my last post, I totally forgot about Prof. River Song? When do you think she'll be back??

But when rose ran towards the Tardis we knew she wants that doctor not the one she has

but, i think RTD has left the show and the specials will be written by the new chief writer.

I think there will only be 3 specials next year, I hope they spread them out so we wont have to wait too long between them

W/e, she'll get over it. . Just kidding but her and the real Doctor could never really happen because he's always traveling.

And that's two characters then that they HAVE to bring back...
the doctor's daughter and River Song. I hope they come sooner rather than later, cause I like them both.

I agree! but I hope they dont been River back too soon, because it sounds like they get very very close and im a romantic and i dont want him getting too close to someone so close to losing Rose

I think part of what Rose loves about the Doctor is the adventure and seeing new worlds. Of course, it won't be the same with the human Doctor. I hope she does grow to love him, because it'd be sad for him to be alone.

I agree! The other doctor should build his own tardis

Tennant will eventually leave the series, and when he does, this provides the perfect opportunity to bring him back for a guest appearance or two. Also, RTD said that the Doctor would never cross over into Torchwood (even tho' Torchwood crosses over into DW), but is it really The Doctor, if it's the human version?

Good point! It would be perfect for Tennant to return, i hope he does, but saying that I dont want him to leave for a looong time

Well, so far, Tom Baker is the longest running Doctor, having done seven seasons. As a Who fan himself, I wonder if Tennant will try to beat him at it.
