Hi.

Some people are starting to get confused about this forum and the OT stuff so I thought I'd put this thread together for you to ask any questions you may have.

I'll turn this first post in to a kind of FAQ so you can check back frequently for updates.

I'll also try to get Emma to answer some questions as well cos, well basically she rawks.

OK I posted this on the random questions thread on the main board, but I thought I'd post it here as a basic question to start the thread off.

Emma started the OT subforum as a place for the Off-Topic chatting. The Rules thread in the OT subforum sets out what you can and can't do there. But it's basically that you can do all the old stuff you used to be able to do. The only thing that's different is that the threads in the subforum don't affect post counts.

The ^^^ game was moved there because as a whole, it's more poster-related rather than Everwood-related.

Don't be afraid to post there Chichen, it is kinda confusing but it's certainly nothing to be scared of. If you have any further questions, PM me and I'll answer them for you.

What about the #'s thing? I think #'s is a good idea because if you want to refer to something in a past thread, it's easier to find the thread if you know which one to look in.

i have to agree with chichen completely..i understand there are reasons for the new format...but there are a few threads that are ot still on the everwood forum..like the username thread...its just more confusing now..

Just to start off with that one. Spam has never been allowed on any forum on Fanbolt. What has happened in the past (and it really isn't anybody's fault) is that the Spam started to slowly appear until recently when it was picked up by a Mod from another board. Even I thought Spam was allowed but it isn't.

But... spam is permitted in the new OT thread because the post counts aren't affected. It's still frowned upon but the Mods won't be pulling out the poking sticks if it's found here in OT. It has more or less been relaxed for this sub forum.

The Mods won't delete anything out of hand. If a post is deleted then it could be due to a number of factors such as completely off topic, inappropriate etc (drawing the recent R18 pic that was unknowingly posted as an example) and minor things such as spoilerish information. Also posts such as "Greg is Hot" or agreeance posts "I agree with you" are also considered spam.

The last few weeks have been a trial and error process and posts have been deleted (some mistakenly) and I apologize for that. Just know that in the future, either the posts will be edited (in the case of spoilers) or you will be PMed if a post belonging to you has been deleted.

I'm not sure why this happens. Threads may sometimes be moved to the OT section such as the ^^^ game which may or may not affect the post counts. But maybe Emma can reflect on this some more. Also the game threads are moved to the OT section in Storage which may also be a contributing factor.

OK. The numbers were removed from the titles (only) because there's the possibility (well maybe slight possibility) that they may be seen as competitive threads meaning people may try to bump lesser used threads simply to catch up to the more popular ones (like those which are up to #8 etc) rather than posting something meaningful instead. It could also come across as self serving (for post counts). It's only a trial thing and will more than likely go back to how it was once new threads are started to replace the old ones or in the near future. As for the numbers themselves, they are still noted in the first post of each thread for those who want to know what number the thread is up to.

The rules are still the same as they were before besides the OT forum which is now more relaxed than the previous format. The rules for the main board just seem to be enforced a little more because there are now 3 extra mods to give Fraz a hand. Two are very new (including me) and are still trying to adjust to mod-dom.

But we don't want you guys to think that you have to run every post through a checking system to see if it's good enough to post. You can judge for yourself whether they are. And we certainly don't want you to post extra long posts analyzing the characters just to feel like you're posting properly. Like Emma has said, we just want you guys to have fun and enjoy posting.

Our board has gotten a lot of flack lately mostly because it's one of the most popular forums and words can't express how hard Fraz has worked to build this board up and we're going to do what we can to keep our board one of the most popular, lively and entertaining boards on the whole site.

Another thing I've just been wondering about now...

The Latino fans thread is in here yet the Dutch and Canadian fans threads are still in the main board.

I'm not sure why that is but I'll check it out with the other mods.

I just want to say one thing. Post counts, are not an important thing. The wonderful thing about FB is that you are part of an online community where you can make friends from all over the world, who have the same interests as you do. I know I have. So, dont worry so much about your post counts. Its just a number...and in the scheme of things, not important.

edit to add- im sick of people thinking im the only spammer here cause i have a high post count. Geez, billions of people here have spammed.

And the Elderwood OT and Canadian one yeah.
They are OT and should be moved here. Or maybe the Elderwood one to Tabloids?
and Used is absolutely right. Before the Everwood boards became so popular back when it was only I and used and HOT. It didn't matter about spam. It's now when billions of members came in april/may/june.. spam too many times was bad.

edit to add- i'm in a very bad mood. so nobody get snappy or what not with me. i have had the most traumatic week of my life besides when i had surgery. thanks

I think that was the problem with a few back in 2002. Yes, I wanted to know what's next?!?!?!... but i don't think it's the others? I mean look at the other peoples with higher posts then you know what's next.. I never had that option..lol
