7.22 ~ Bon Voyage (05.15.07) (Series Finale)
Just as Rory (Alexis Bledel) lands her dream job as a political reporter, Luke (Scott Patterson) enlists the help of everyone in Stars Hollow to throw her a graduation party. Emily (Kelly Bishop) and Richard (Edward Herrmann) attend the huge party, where Rory makes a speech thanking Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and the whole town for giving her such a great start in life.
Luke's thoughtfulness brings out an unexpected reaction from Lorelai (Lauren Graham). Finally, on the morning that Rory leaves Stars Hollow to start her career, Luke opens the diner before dawn to share a celebratory breakfast with the Gilmore girls. CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour makes a cameo appearance as a guest at the Dragonfly Inn. Melissa McCarthy, Keiko Agena, Yanic Truesdale and Sean Gunn also star. Lee Shallat Chemel directed the episode written by David Rosenthal. |

I'm probably going to shed tears when it airs. I've been watching the show religiously now for 7 years and to see it end is SAD. I hate that it's ending...it makes me feel like a piece of my life is coming to a close. My TV piece of life. So, so sad. =(

When I heard the news I said "It just can't be over!" I have been in mourning ever since. It's been my favorite show since the first eppy. So I definetly know how you feel. There will be many tears shed.

It makes me sad knowing that this is the last ever GG and that the only good quality, fast talking paced show on televison is over
I'm sure it will end on a good note though, especially with all of the LL fans everywhere.

See, that's the bad thing about TV series... here in Brazil our primetime is full of novelas that air everyday of the week, but only last 11 month max, so we are used to the idea of it being over eventually. We have very few series and they never last that long, so when you get American series that last more than 4 years you get too used to the idea of it always being there. Doesn't help that I'm 19, GG was on for all my teenage years. Too weird.

The final episode was really rather good! I am happy they found a way to include the whole town along with Rory's grandparents. How fitting that Luke would plan it, too. I'm rather happy with the ending; although, I re-e-eally was not ready for the series to end. I very much wanted an eighth season so we could see some threads tied up a bit more festively (as I recall Lorelai used this word when asking Luke for something they could use to toast their engagement). I am mainly sad that this is the end - but I am proud and happy to have been a fan of such an excellent show. Kudos to us for recognizing quality!!! Thanks, kckgirl, for inviting me here. Thanks so very much to all you hard working and dedicated FF people for a great place to meet. Thanks and good wishes to you and all the participants in this forum. This has been a memorable and very special experience.
