X-Men: First Class

By Matthew Vaughn, 2011.
Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

I am always cautious about Comic Book movies. They always seem to be either awesome or terrible. I think I will wait for the reviews before I decide on this one. Matthew Vaughn is a great director and his cast is really awesome so it looks like ti would be good. I do like the story they are trying to tell and as somebody not overly familiar with the X-Men comics I wouldn't nit pick the details of the story.

ashleabeep - Is that Bill Hader in your signature? He is the man! I met him once and he was a really nice guy.

I'm a big fan of the X-Men movies so far so I'm kinda excited for this one. Plus there are some good actors/actresses in this movie.

Well, then this might interest you (it is related to the Marvel universe) - back in 2009 Bill Hader and Seth Meyers wrote a legitimate Spider-Man issue called "Spiderman: The Short Halloween." It's not too bad and you can find it on eBay or Amazon for about a dollar. It's about a guy that dresses as Spider-Man for Halloween and gets mixed up for the real Spider-Man. Has a bunch of original villains.

Cool

When the dirt settled right after 2006's “X-Men: The Last Stand,” fans turned up their noses at the leftover chaos. However, this Friday's debut of prequel/reboot “X-Men: First Class” should turn out to be more delightful. A new director, brand-new cast and going back in time approach to the tale should make “First Class” a hit. X-Men: First Class brings mutant attraction back. The story counteracts with scenes from the last stand. If this was your first experience with x-men its a good movie to watch.

also if there are any roswell fans, branden fehr has a very small cameo in the movie. i think he might have one small line, but mostly he is standing in the background on the army us ship (when they go to war towards the end).

I just saw First Class last night, and it was AMAZING. I really didn't want to see it, but a friend got us tickets. The cast was brilliant, the story line was brilliant and believable. I've never seen so many pretty, blue-eyed boys in my life! If you're fan of the original movies, it's definitely worth checking out. It clears up a lot of unanswered questions. If you're a fan of the comics and/or cartoons, you'll enjoy seeing some familiar faces who stay very close to their original story lines.

It was deserving of the high praise I've been hearing. The two leads did a great job carrying the movie. The flip side of that is that they needed the spotlight, so the remaining cast members had to be not the biggest/baddest heroes. Action scenes were well done, but I would have wanted to see more one on one type fights. Overall fantastic addition to the comic genre. It stands apart from the other ones in atmosphere and style.
