Thumbs up The Amazing Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy. The story is pretty much the same as the first Spider-man movie starring Toby McGuire. But,With that being said, There was a lot of action and the emotional development was completely on a higher notch.
All in all its really a fun movie, it is very close to the comic-book character. The most impressive thing about the movie was Andrew Garfield, He was really great in it.
For me it's a 4.5/5
P.s. Watch it in 3D if you plan to watch this at the cinema

Have you guys seen this movie yet? If yes, What's your take on it?

I'm excited for this version of Spiderman. The many other versions are okay, but this one seems like it will be the best of them all for my taste. We plan on taking my stepson to see it in theaters for his birthday next week, in 3D [although I noticed it is also coming out in IMAX too - it would be amazing to see the movie in that format].

If you have a Hardee's fast food restaurant in your area, then you know that the food chain is doing major advertising for this movie. From the Happy Meal toys, to codes on the cups for free items in the upcoming video game, to giving away tshirts, hats and more. It's the first time I got involved in the 'fast food' type of promotions, and I already won The Amazing Spiderman PS3 Game - so that's a bonus to sort of hand over to my son after he sees the movies. If you dress up on July 4th in our area as Spiderman, you also get a free Grilled Bacon Thickburger Combo [I think that's worth digging his old Spiderman outfit out the closet and having him dress up for since our Hardee's is less than five minutes away]. That said, the promotions for this movie are really exciting and rewarding, and the trailers keep making the movie look better and better. We will be seeing this one and I am actually excited [I usually don't get to into the superhero and comic movie genre].

I'm going to see this tonight at a screening! Looking forward to it. I really only liked the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man, the second was good and the third was terrible. Curious to see what direction this one goes in

This movie is kind of hard to say because it depends on what you are looking for. For example, I thought it was a fun movie and the pacing was really good. The first half of the movie is nearly identical to the Sam Raimi movie as far as creating an origin story, although it went more into Peter Parker's parents. However, a friend I went with did not like it as much. He thought the story went along too fast. Not enough character development to add realism. so it depends on what kind of storytelling you like. For example, in Spider-Man 2 (2004) there is literally 45 minutes in the middle of the film with no Spider-Man where Peter was deciding if he really wanted to be Spider-Man. My friend loved that aspect. I, honestly, got bored and expect more action in a superhero movie (Christopher Nolan does a good job balancing the two).

Rhys Ifans does a great job as Curt Connors/Lizard and is probably the most compelling character in the film. I found Andrew Garfield not to be as likable in this movie but still pretty good.

There are a lot of improvements that I think just come from 10 years of technology. The suit looks much better in this movie with darker tones and the CGI is WAAAYY better. Watching the 2002 Spider-Man the animations really don't hold up. This one does better where you can't as easily distinguish actor from animation. Also, The Lizard looks great! It does not look like a cartoon at all but very realistic.

I saw it last night at the midnight showing and I kind of had so hesitations. I didn't really like the original 2002 Spiderman, but I thought I would give this version a chance because I love Emma Stone and I liked Andrew Garfield in the Social Network. I have to say that I loved this movie. It was great. Andrew Garfield did seem a bit awkward at times but I think he did an Amazing (not pun intended) job.

thanks for the reviews guys. looking forward to seeing this movie.

*edit-
just got back from seeing it. i really enjoyed it. i was little disappointed that they toned down denis leary in the movie though. but i understand they wanted him as this series police detective. but still wish they would have let him get a little more of his sarcastic one liners in there.

I'm still on the fence about waiting till this hits the buck theater or going on and seeing it now. I'll probably cave soon.

After watching it twice, i have to say that this movie has all the good special effects and good actors. But, The movie is really very poor telling the story line.
The Previous Spider-man is definitely better than this one. I wished they didn't had a re-boot at all, its all "Sony's" mistake, they just didn't want to lose the right of the movie.

I think the movie better than the others. Maybe it's because of the actors playing in it.
