Hope Springs
Kay (Meryl Streep) and Arnold (Tommy Lee Jones) are a devoted couple, but decades of marriage have left Kay wanting to spice things up and reconnect with her husband. When she hears of a renowned couple's specialist (Steve Carell) in the small town of Great Hope Springs, she attempts to persuade her skeptical husband, a steadfast man of routine, to get on a plane for a week of marriage therapy. Just convincing the stubborn Arnold to go on the retreat is hard enough – the real challenge for both of them comes as they shed their bedroom hang-ups and try to re-ignite the spark that caused them to fall for each other in the first place. Source: IMDB Saw the previews for this one today, and I think I'll enjoy it. While I don't think this is a movie for everyone, it is one I think will be a hit. It sort of has that 'couples comedy' ring to it. I'm a big Meryl Streep fan, so for me that sealed the deal automatically. However, I enjoy most of Steve Carell's movies as well, and seeing as how I've never seen these two work together and I think this may be the first time [if anyone has any references of the duo in anything else together, please do tell], I'm looking forward to seeing how they play off of each other on-screen [as Streep is sort of 'passive' comedic and Carell is an obvious 'laugh-out-loud' funnyman]. Everyone gets to a point in their relationship where they want to spice things up, if only a little bit - and so this film's concept really interests me. I love that fact that the characters are older as well - movies like this seem to work better and hold more depth when the character's have years of history. For me, this is more of a OnDemand or Blockbuster kiosk rental though, rather than seeing the film in theaters. Are you excited to see Streep on-screen again? Do You Plan On Seeing Hope Springs?
