Your Favorite Fantasy Films
These days, one of the biggest genres of movies out there is fantasy. Thousands of titles fit under this catergory. And why shouldn't we give in to the hype? It's a journey into happenings that simply seems impossible in the real world. Fantasy films generally cover three things : supernatural events, incredible creatures, and foreign worlds. With that said, it's quite easy sometimes to confuse fantasy as science fiction and horror can overlap into the film as well. Fantasy is one of my favorite genres, and here at some of my favorites of the genre : the Harry Potter legacy, the Twilight Saga, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,The Crow, Hocus Pocus, Matilda, and Edward Scissorhands. Harry Potter intrigues me the most in this genre. There's never a dull muggle moment! The enchanting of the Hogwarts Great Hall sky has always been a favorite fantasy scene of mine (the never-ending food being my stepsons haha). Your Favorites?

Ahh god Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles, that brings me back, I used to attack my sisters barbies with those when I was little
Never got into the movies for some reason though. As for fantasy type genre films that I enjoy, obvioulsy love Twighlight, thats been established on here, I also enjoy watching the Harry Potter Movies. I unfortunelty never read the books, wanna get around to that eventually. Movies like that just suck you in and really give you a escape from your own reality. Especially if they are generally well made movies, where money was invested to really make sure the effects are up to par, and not overly fakey or generally wierd looking and distracting, that is what really makes those movies to me. |

Caribell, I suggest reading the Harry Potter series! You'll defenitely enjoy it (and while I'm at suggestions since you've become a great board buddy, do read The Vampire Diaries). I could hardly put either series down! Wolfman has been added to my favorite fantasy films. I half expected this movie to turn out terrible, but in all honesty, I was proven wrong. The storyline was absolutely in tact and played out nicely. Avatar is also one of my recently added favorites. This film had absolutely amazing imagery, and if a world like this was accessable, I'd probably fall in love with it too! The whole concept of the people, right down to their color, was brilliant. James Cameron truly has a way with the camera.
