I can't really think of any under-appreciated actors and actresses at the moment either. A couple of years ago, that would have been different. For instance, a lot of the actors and actresses I grew to love when the first popped on the scene have now become major successes, so I guess you could say I was blessed to see all the up-and-coming stars I loved and wanted to see more of make it big.

Phoebe Cates, Shannon Doherty, Kristen Stewart, Emma Stone, and Chloe Moretz are the top actresses that I was hoping would make it big, and look at them now. Moretz is getting amazing roles such as her roles in Let Me In and Kick Ass, and Kristen Stewart blew up in the Twilight Saga and The Runaways.

I'm adding John Savage. I watched 'handsome harry' yesterday and he did more in his 8 minutes or so than many actors can do throughout an entire film.

I have to agree with Gary Oldman. Time and again he's turned in some amazing performances. i can NOT believe he's never won an Oscar. He's a brilliant actor.

Gary Oldman, definitely! Maybe the dark knight will take him to an Oscar?

Oldman deserved one for 'prick up your ears'. Best title ever but I cannot explain it here. You'd have to understand Joe Orton.

Did anyone mention Elizabeth Shue yet? I just saw "Hope Springs" and delighted to see her name in the opening credits...and she had, maybe 2 or 3 lines as a bartender. That's it. What a waste. (Mimi Rogers also had a 1 or 2 line bit part at the tail end. Jean Smart was also in it with a bigger part)

Chloe Webb. Loved her in 'tales of the city' and 'sid and nancy'. She was in the original cast of 'forbidden broadway'. Wish she'd made it big as a character actor. guess she wasn't blandly pretty like the rest of them. oh well!
