I truly am addicted. I just scored "Las Vegas Hillbillys" (a crappy movie, but it features Mamie Van Doren AND Jayne Mansfield!!!)
![]() and "Son of Spartacus" starring STEVE ("Hercules") REEVES!!! ![]() Zowie! And, of course, I've got my eye on even MORE!!! Ha! Last edited by Monster_A_GoGo; 02-09-2012 at 11:59 PM. |

Can't stop buying...
I just scored two more posters. The first is a Mexican horror/wrestling (!!!??) movie for a film called "El Castillo De Las Momias de Gaunajuanto" ("Castle of the Mummies of Guanajuanto"). I stumbled across it accidentally. I have never bought a Mexican poster before (mostly because I don't speak Spanish), but after accidentally finding (but, drat, losing) one of the amazing "Aztec Mummy" posters (the original Mexican print, not the dubbed rerelease US version), I was awed by the awesome art! The one I got tonight is a flick I had never heard of (I don't think it had an English release here) and is the third in a series! I looked it up on IMDB and knew it was something I needed when i saw this as the plot description:
"A trio of masked Mexican wrestlers take on a mad scientist, killer dwarfs, and a horde of re-animated mummies in Guanajuato." ZOWIE! Sounds FABULOUS!!!! So, I got the poster: ![]() In other poster news, I was thrilled to score "Samson and the Slave Queen". Great art on this as well--even though I've never seen the movie. I've recently started watching the old sword & sandal flicks from the late 50s/early 60s. You know, the moldy old Hercules, Atlas, Urses, Maciste, Achilles, gladiators, etc. flicks. The ones I've found are pretty poor quality prints--but cheap enough. There were some amazing films---and some utter crap. Unfortunately "Samson and the Slave Queen" is NOT on any of the DVD packages I've been able to find---but the poster is very nice! SCORE!!! ![]() What's next? I've always got my eye out for something....

Anyone want to buy this for me? It's on eBay right now---starting bid is $69.99. It's on my all-time want list. P-L-E-A-S-E????? Anyone? I'll be eternally grateful!!!
No? Sigh... I will TRY to get it (maybe), but I'm sure I'll be outbid. This is one of the coolest one sheets, but the actual movie is just CRAP! Ha! |

I thought I would share my latest scores:
Wings of the Hawk is a 1953 western that was presented in 3D!! Here's the one sheet: ![]() Then it's Steve ("Hercules") Reeves vs Gordon ("Tarzan" from the 1950s) Scott in the 1963 sword & sandal epic "Duel of the Titans"! Check it out: ![]() Yippie! Not that anyone (but me) cares, but here are my latest poster scores:
First, it's the all-star comedy flop from Steven Speilberg, "1941". Despite the movie being just awful, the poster art is busy, campy fun! ![]() Next, it's a (hopefully) better copy of a poster I already have, "Logan's Run". If/when the long-planned remake is ever made, I'll sell off which ever copy isn't as good--hopefully for a profit! ![]() That's followed by a rather bland poster for a low-budget 1977 "Jaws"-type / killer animal flick (household pets gone crazy!!) called "The Pack". I got it cheap...less than $3, so... ![]() Then it's the preferred one-sheet style to the original classic "The Omen": ![]() Finally, here is apparently a rock & roll send-off of the original "Wizard of Oz" from the 70s called "20th Century Oz". It was cheap and a curiosity, so...

No one cares (but me...), but here are some recent acquisitions (Man, I really need to STP! i'm ADDICTED!!):
First, it's an old Steeve Reeves movie, the fantasy "Thief of Baghdad": ![]() That's followed by a similar in genre (but a movie I've never heard of...and a less-than-thrilling, but cheap poster) for "The Loves of Salammbo" (HUH?): ![]() Vintage 1950s 3D pops off the screen in "Fort Ti": ![]() Finally, this is an Australian one sheet for the 2nd original "Battlestar Galactica" movie (after the pilot) edited together from the 2nd and 3rd episodes (but NOT shown theatrically here) called "Mission Galactica: The Cylon Attack": ![]() And, poster whore that I am, I already have my eyes on several more. Check back in the future if you want to see what i get. Cheers! |

Cheap and recent additions (nothing to write home about really...)
![]() King of the Carnival is a 1950s (?) serial (one of those old short movies with cliffhanger endings they used to show before the main movie). ![]() A double feature poster for "Krakatoa: East of Java" and "Custer of the West". ![]() "Fright House" starring Al "Grandpa Munster" Lewis" ![]() "Caged Fury" starring Erik Estrada (??) ![]() "Invasion of the Space Preacher"??? I have no idea... |
